3 km away is the nearest village, Montchamp, where you can buy the essentials for your needs.
Fresh baguette and croissants are also available there daily.
In the village, we also have a car workshop, a post office, and a hairdresser to offer.
The nearest larger shopping town is Vire. There you will find everything you need.
The most popular destinations of our guests are spread out in all directions like the points of a star.
Certainly, MONT ST. MICHEL, located to the west and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the most photographed attraction.
To the north are the LANDING BEACHES and BAYEUX.
To the west lies the city of CAEN, which radiates a special flair with its sandstone facades.
Also there, for those interested in history, is the Memorial Museum, which commemorates the events of World War II.
To the south are smaller towns, such as the medieval DOMFRONT or MORTAIN with its cascades (waterfall).

7 Days of Happiness!
It is very beautiful here. Solitude, if you like it. Enjoying the starry sky. Grilling, swinging, chilling. Sometimes you dream the whole day away! Yet there is so much more to see here. Everything nearby: Mt.-St.-Michel, Domfront, Granville, and much more. 1 week is too short and everything is nearby. The house is very Norman and the pears taste delicious!!! Thank you for that!

"The Laurel" - Vacation in the idyllic paradise
Dear Andrea, we would like to thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts! Since we know you personally, we naturally knew that you do everything with a lot of love and care – but your holiday home truly impressed us.
“The Laurel” has a beautiful country house style that immediately creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. You step in and feel at home right away – charming, cozy, and furnished with a fine sense of detail. Here, the overall picture is simply right.
What particularly pleased us: There is truly nothing missing. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is available – and the house was spotless. You can tell that you put in a lot of effort to ensure your guests feel completely comfortable.
The location is simply ideal. From "Die Lorbeere," you can wonderfully explore the beautiful towns of Normandy, and a spontaneous beach day is just as possible – there is something for every taste. A very special highlight – especially for our child – was your lovely little farm. The enthusiasm of the little one knew no bounds! And you really thought of everything: whether it was the pétanque court, swings, or plenty of toys – our daughter was wonderfully occupied and happy throughout the entire vacation.

Deceleration
We experienced a very, very beautiful vacation week. Completely burned out from the everyday life of the last months, we arrived. Completely recharged and well-grounded, we departed 10 days later. Again, a great vacation the second time!
We were now for the second time in Andreas and Georg's beautiful stone house during the autumn holiday. Even though the weather was a bit more mixed than last year, we were able to spend a lot of time outdoors thanks to the covered terrace. The children and the dogs celebrated their reunion with the garden and the animals in the neighborhood! Thanks to the great amenities of the house and the warm hosts, we had a wonderful and relaxing holiday! We will definitely come back and enjoy your Calvados and apple juice until then!

3 weeks of dream vacation
The house is a wonderful old stone house, which is typical in Normandy. Inside, it is very cozy and comfortably furnished with everything you need. The garden is a dream, and when it rains, you can still sit outside on the covered terrace. The house and garden are also ideal for dogs. The garden is fenced in a dog-friendly way, and you can go for walks directly from the house. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts and were able to spend 3 wonderful weeks there. We will return as soon as possible.

„Die Lorbeere” hat einen wunderschönen Landhausstil, der sofort eine warme und gemütliche Atmosphäre schafft. Man tritt ein und fühlt sich auf Anhieb wohl – charmant, heimelig und mit einem feinen Gespür für Details eingerichtet. Hier stimmt einfach das Gesamtbild.
Was uns besonders gefreut hat: Es fehlt an wirklich nichts. Alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht, ist vorhanden – und das Haus war makellos sauber. Man merkt, dass du dir große Mühe gibst, damit sich deine Gäste rundum wohlfühlen.
Die Lage ist dabei einfach ideal. Von „Die Lorbeere” aus lassen sich wunderbar die schönen Städte der Normandie erkunden, und ein spontaner Strandtag ist genauso gut möglich – für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei.
Ein ganz besonderes Highlight – vor allem für unser Kind – war euer liebevoller kleiner Bauernhof. Die Begeisterung der Kleinen kannte keine Grenzen! Und auch sonst habt ihr wirklich an alles gedacht: Ob Boule-Platz, Schaukel oder reichlich Spielzeug – unsere Tochter waren den ganzen Urlaub über bestens beschäftigt und glücklich.
Liebe Andrea, wir empfehlen „Die Lorbeere” jedem, der echte Erholung in einem herzlichen Ambiente sucht – und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir kommen bestimmt wieder und lassen uns bis dahin euren Calvados und Apfelsaft schmecken!
Für Hunde sind Haus und Garten ebenfalls ideal. Der Garten ist hundegerecht eingezäunt und man kann direkt vom Haus aus spazieren gehen.
Wir wurden von den Gastgebern sehr nett aufgenommen und konnten 3 wundervolle Wochen dort verbringen. Wir werden so schnell wie möglich wieder kommen.
Die Umgebung des Ferienhauses lädt dazu ein, die Natur in vollen Zügen zu genießen. Die Möglichkeit zu wandern und zu entspannen ist hier reichlich gegeben. Der Standort des Hauses erweist sich als idealer Ausgangspunkt, um die Schönheit der Normandie zu erkunden. Für uns, die wir Ruhe und Entspannung suchen, ist es jedes Mal eine Freude, hierher zurückzukehren. Wir planen definitiv, wiederzukommen.
Dank der ruhigen Lage des Hauses konnten wir uns gut erholen und haben es genossen, morgens nicht von Straßenlärm sondern dem Blöken der Schafe und dem Krähen des Hahns geweckt zu werden. Für die Kinder war es schön, das Pferd der Hausbesitzer mit Äpfeln zu füttern, ein Feuer im Kamin zu machen und der Apfelsaft „à la maison“ schmeckte ihnen hervorragend!

Vielen Dank an Andrea und Georg für den herzlichen Empfang und den angenehmen Aufenthalt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder im nächsten Jahr
Die Ausstattung des Hauses lässt kaum Wünsche offen, alles ist sauber, die Bäder sind super und in der Küche haben wir uns manche Köstlichkeit zubereiten können.
Auch wenn Familie Herten selbst in ihrem wohlverdienten Urlaub waren, waren sie für uns telefonisch zu erreichen und haben uns mit Rat zur Seite gestanden.
Innerhalb einer Stunde Autofahrt lässt sich von Montchamp so manches erkunden, wir z.B. der Mont-Saint-Michel, Bayeux, radeln im Orne-Tal oder traumhafte Strände in Quistreham.
Wir hatten 14 wunderschöne Tage und können das Haus nur weiterempfehlen.
Die Küche und das Haus sind bestens ausgestattet, man kann kochen und backen. Eine Waschmaschine ist ebenfalls da. Wir konnten entschleunigen und unseren Urlaub mit Hund in der natürlichen Gegend sehr genießen. In der Umgebung gibt es genügend Attraktionen, falls man Lust dazu hat; Märkte, Ausstellungen, Museen, Wanderrouten, das Meer, etc.
Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
Die Gastfreundschaft war wunderbar, eine angenehme Mischung aus Herzlichkeit und Fürsorge.

Die Umgebung lädt zum wandern und entspannen ein. Der Standort ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt um die Normandie zu erkunden.
Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist hier genau richtig! Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. Es ist urgemütlich und die Gastgeber sehr freundlich und gut zu erreichen. Der umzäunten Garten, die Schaukel und das viele Spielzeug haben unseren Söhnen sehr gut gefallen.
Mit dem Auto sind Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gut zu erreichen.
