Location and surroundings of object

In Masuria there are still unspoilt and wonderful recreational areas for civilization tired city dwellers. There are still the stork and the elk at home. The crystal clear lakes are full of fish, crayfish and mussels. Here you can make fishing, canoeing or cycling.

But the culture is not neglected in the former German Order instead of: as part of a day trip you can discover Gdansk, Olsztyn (Allenstein), the capital of Mazury Malbork Castle in Malbork, the world's largest factory of Brick Gothic (former seat of the Grand Master of the German Order) or Hittlers Wolfschanze in Gierloz.

Beautiful cozy house right by the lake

It was just wonderful! We had the best weather and made the most of the lake with its great swimming opportunities and the paddle boat. We also really enjoyed the many cozy seating areas in the garden, allowing us to relax and chill out well. The evening before our departure, Jan called us again to check if everything was good. I enthusiastically reported to him...

We thank everyone involved very much for this pleasant vacation!

Summer vacation, fishing vacation

Very nice landlord, everything available, boat, bicycles, etc ... Very good for fishing. The double bed has seen better days and could be replaced. Otherwise, the accommodation is highly recommended!

Unwind in the Masuria

I would like to start with the most important thing for me: the landlords. Jan and Kascha - as well as Mr Gihr, who takes over parts of the handling - are incredibly likeable, communicative and uncomplicated people. We were picked up by Kascha in Hartowiec so that we could find the house more easily. Even the welcome was warm. On site, we were shown the house, garden, jetty and boat. There was also a small welcome package ready for us.
The house itself is a dream: the small garden area facing the forest has a lot of sun, the seating area, a parasol and the brick barbecue complete it. On the terrace you can have breakfast with a view of the lake or simply enjoy the time. The house itself is very well equipped, especially the kitchen
Initially, we were only irritated by the fact that the house is a semi-detached house and that there were four friends of Jan and Kascha with their dog next door. But they were very friendly and uncomplicated. However, if you are looking for absolute isolation, you are definitely wrong here. But we didn't find it too bad and we didn't feel very disturbed.
Another highlight is the jetty. You can spend days here, whether bathing, fishing, sunbathing or dozing. Having a boat with you is also great! (But it is rather small for two adults and fishing equipment)
Overall, I would have liked to stay a few more days, also to see more beautiful places in the area.

Great holiday home with everything you need for a fantastic vacation

We felt very comfortable. The hospitality of Jan and Kasia is unique. Nothing was missing. The kitchen is super equipped and everything is lovingly and practically furnished. The terrace and garden offer the possibility to be in the sun or shade as desired. The path to the boat dock is not barrier-free. We liked to walk it, to swim and fish from the boat dock. The surroundings offer enough for all nature lovers, activities, and those interested in history.

Beautiful, but with points of criticism

We spent a week in July 2020 in this holiday home with six people. Overall, the holiday was very relaxing, a visit to the lido around the corner is especially recommended

Since we noticed some things that differed from the advertisement upon arrival, we would like to point out the following points for future holidaymakers
1. The holiday flat is located in a semi-detached house.
This is not a problem in itself, as the neighbours are very quiet and nice (we didn't hear much from them). Nevertheless, this fact was surprising for us upon arrival, as the semi-detached house was not mentioned in the advertisement
2. From the advertisement, one could infer that the house is located directly on the lake and that one has direct access to a jetty. However, this is not the case. The jetty can be reached within 2 minutes via a meadow below the road
3. Unfortunately, there were not enough bikes on site and they were not really suitable for longer tours. Instead, we rented bikes for little money from the nearby lido

However, all these points can be very well left aside, especially thanks to the following
1. A large terrace with a wonderful lake view. We honestly didn't miss the direct lake access at all. The view was far too beautiful for that!
2. The entire property and garden are lovingly landscaped and invite you to explore, snack on currants, and barbecue in the evenings. Behind the house there is a nice barbecue area and another sitting area
3. We had two nice contact persons who spoke very good German and helped us with problems at any time
4. The internet worked really well!

Liebe Ines, lieber Thiemo,

vielen Dank für die Zeit, die Sie sich genommen haben, Ihren Urlaub im Haus InMASUREN zu bewerten.

Wir haben uns leider nicht persönlich kennengelernt, da wir in zu diesem Zeitpunkt in Frankreich unterwegs waren. Unser Sohn Jakob kam daher mit seiner Frau aus Danzig, um Ihnen Haus und Umfeld vorzustellen. Sie haben uns Haus InMASUREN in einem guten Zustand zurückgegeben. Auch dafür vielen Dank. Wir hatten lediglich ein bischen Lauferei, um Ihnen die Sachen wieder zukommen zu lassen, die Sie im Haus vergessen hatten, aber < nobody ist perfect >.

Auch wir möchten eine paar Dinge für zukünftige Urlauber ergänzen:

1. Es gibt selbstverständlich weitere Häuser am See. Das Nachbarhaus gehört unserem Freund Marek. Er ist 58 Jahre alt, berufstätig, sehr ruhig und nutzt dieses Haus als Wochenendhaus. Seine einziges Kind lebt in Warschau und ist auch selten da. Dieses Haus wird nicht an Touristen vermietet. Mit dem Nachbarhaus teilt man sich lediglich den eingezäunten Parkplatz.

2. Die Anzeige heisst HAUS AM SEE MIT BOOT . Ein ca. 8m breiter Uferstreifen am See kann nicht privat erworben werden, sondern gehört wie der See selbst dem polnischen Staat. Von der Grundstücksgrenze von Haus InMASUREN sind es ca. 40 Meter bis zum Steg. Der Steg selbst geht ca. 8 m weit in den See. Am Ende befindet sich eine ca. 10m² grosse Fläche, auf der man auch liegen kann. Der Steg ist privat. Die Wiese vor dem Steg (siehe Photos) ist öffentlich, wird aber quasi von niemandem genutzt und selten passiert.

3. Sie haben mit maximaler Personenzahl bei uns Urlaub gemacht. Wir haben nur 4 Fahrrräder, z.T. Mountain-Bikes (alle 26‘‘) , die keine Gepäckträger haben und für Kinder unter 12 Jahren nicht geeignet sind. Gut, dass man preiswerte Fahrräder um die Ecke mieten kann.

Great house, even greater hosts!

Our second vacation in Masuria, this time far in the south (Ermland). Booked via the internet, a house by a small lake in a little village.

We found an abundantly equipped house by a crystal-clear lake (just a few steps from the house) with its own pier, boat, and several good bicycles.

Furthermore, the ideal "breakfast terrace" with a view over the lake - what more could one want? We enjoyed our stay 100%, also because we could take numerous long walks (hikes) with our dog directly from the house through the beautiful surroundings. At the lake itself, there is a holiday area (at a really sufficient distance, no restriction to our vacation) with a restaurant, and Hartowiec itself offers 2 small supermarkets where you can get everything you need, including fresh meat. We were able to pick fruit almost everywhere without any problems (plums, pears, apples, very tasty grapes at the house itself). :-) In nearby Rybno, the selection is even more extensive.

Day trips to Gdansk, or Olsztyn (Allenstein) and even to Warsaw? No problem!

We would like to extend special thanks to Kascha and Jan. Perfect hosts who supported us wonderfully and had an answer to every question. Many tips and suggestions have proven to be valuable.

Very pleasant and perfect in terms of a "normal" vacation.

However, there is more to report: Unfortunately, we had a breakdown on the way back from Gdansk (Friday afternoon, after a holiday on Thursday). ADAC and the manufacturer of our car left us in the lurch gloriously. Without Jan, we would have truly been lost. Jan (who speaks excellent German) took care of almost everything despite his own commitments, Kascha helped find a new accommodation. Thank you! Perfect hosts/friends!

Wunderschön, aber mit Kritikpunkten 2020-07-11

Wir haben im Juli 2020 in diesem Ferienhaus zu sechst eine Woche Urlaub gemacht. Insgesamt war der Urlaub sehr erholsam, besonders empfehlenswert ist ein Besuch beim Strandbad um die Ecke. Da wir bei der Ankunft einige von der Anzeige abweichende Dinge feststellen mussten, möchten wir hier für zukünftige Urlauber auf folgende Punkte hinweisen: 1. Die Ferienwohnung befindet sich in einer Doppelhaushälfte. Dies stellt an sich kein Problem dar, da die Nachbarn sehr ruhig und nett sind (wir haben von ihnen nicht viel mitbekommen). Dennoch war dieser Fakt für uns bei der Ankunft überraschend, da die Doppelhaushälfte nicht im Inserat erwähnt wurde. 2. Aus der Anzeige könnte man entnehmen, dass das Haus direkt am See gelegen ist und man direkten Zugang zu einem Steg hat. Dem ist allerdings nicht so. Der Steg ist über eine Wiese unterhalb der Straße innerhalb von 2 Minuten erreichbar. 3. Leider waren nicht genügend Fahrräder vor Ort, zudem waren sie nicht wirklich für längere Touren geeignet. Wir haben uns stattdessen für wenig Geld Fahrräder beim nahe gelegenen Strandbad ausgeliehen. Über alle diese Punkte kann aber sehr gut abgesehen werden, vor allem dank folgender Punkte: 1. Eine große Terrasse mit wundervollem Seeblick. Wir haben den direkten Seezugang ehrlich gesagt gar nicht vermisst. Der Ausblick war viel zu schön dafür! 2. Das gesamte Grundstück und der Garten sind liebevoll gestaltet und laden zum Entdecken, Naschen von Johannisbeeren, und abendlichem Grillen ein. Hinter dem Haus gibt es einen schönen Grillplatz und eine weitere Sitzecke. 3. Wir hatten zwei nette Ansprechpartner, die sehr gutes Deutsch sprechen und bei Problemen jederzeit weitergeholfen haben. 4. Das Internet lief wirklich einwandfrei gut!

Unser zweiter Urlaub in den Masuren, diesmal weit im Süden (Ermland). Gebucht via Internet, ein Haus an einem kleinen See in einem kleinen Ort. Vorgefunden haben wir ein überreichlich ausgestattetes Haus, an einem kristallklaren See (nur wenige Schritte vom Haus entfernt) mit eigenem Steg, Boot und etlichen guten Fahrrädern. Zudem die ideale "Frühstücksterrasse" mit Blick über den See, - was will man mehr? Wir haben den Aufenthalt 100% genossen, auch weil wir mit unserem Hund vom Haus aus etliche lange Spaziergänge (Wanderungen) durch die schöne Umgebung machen konnten. Am See selbst gibt es (in wirklich ausreichendem Abstand, keinerlei Einschränkung unserers Urlaubs) ein Feriengebiet mit einen Restaurant, und Hartowiec selbst bietet 2 kleine Supermärkte in denen man alles bekommt was man braucht, auch Frischfleisch. Obst haben wir nebenbei völlig problemlos nahezu überall pflücken können (Pflaumen, Birnen, Äpfel, am Haus selbst sehr leckere Weintrauben). :-) Im nahen Rybno ist das Angebot bei Bedarf noch umfangreicher. Tagesausflüge nach Danzig, oder Olztyn (Allenstein) und selbst nach Warschau? Kein Problem! Einen besondern Dank möchten wir Kascha und Jan übermitteln. Perfekte Gastgeber, die uns wunderbar unterstützt haben, und zu jeder Frage eine Antwort gegeben haben. Viele Tipps und Vorschläge die sich als wertvoll herausgestellt haben. Soweit sowieso sehr erfreulich und bestens hinsichtlich eines "normalen" Urlaubs. Es gibt aber mehr zu berichten: Leider hatten wir auf der Rückfahrt von Danzig eine Autopanne (Freitagnachmittag, nach einem Feiertag am Donnerstag). ADAC und der Hersteller unseres PKWs haben uns glorios im Stich gelassen. Ohne Jan wären wir wirklich verloren gewesen. Jan (der ausgezeichnet Deutsch spricht) hat sich aber trotz eigener Verpflichtungen um nahezu alles gekümmert, Kascha hat geholfen eine neue Unterkunft zu finden. Danke! Perfekte Gastgeber/Freunde!
