Superbly equipped holiday home directly on the edge of the forest

We stayed for 1 week with our dog in this well-equipped holiday home. The house really has everything from a covered terrace with awning, from a coffee machine to a raclette and grill, TV, games, ground-level shower and all kinds of containers and glasses to a super cooker with oven.
Mrs Reiß gave us a warm welcome and, thanks to the proximity, was always available to answer our questions. One immediately felt welcome.
The garden is fenced, so that our dog could run around freely and also sniff the neighbour's dog "Lady".
You can walk directly from the house across a meadow into the forest and are surrounded by pure nature.
As there is no mobile phone reception outside the Wi-Fi, you can switch off wonderfully and enjoy nature.
We can absolutely recommend this place for relaxation and can imagine staying here again.

Unusually good equipment and friendly, helpful landlady. There is no mobile phone network in the village. The Wi-Fi in the house is helpful.

Relaxing family holiday in a great holiday home

We really enjoyed our stay in the holiday home "Am Waldesrand". The super friendly landlords, the great facilities and the location in the beautiful holiday park "Machtlos" made our holiday a really great memory. If there were any problems, you could contact the landlords immediately and they solved them quickly. The house was also very clean. The garden is a bit small but fenced all around, so we could let our dog run free. Furthermore, you have very nice neighbours there. We would love to come back again.

It was beautiful - very, very beautiful!

But as (almost) always, when it's beautiful: Much too short! I would like - also on behalf of the accompanying family members - to give an unrestricted praise and further recommendation here. We were personally and friendly welcomed with nice gestures. Our furry friends were also very welcome and immediately felt comfortable on the fenced property. Both the house and the inventory are in an exemplary condition. There was nothing missing in the equipment, the kitchen is "like new", beds and seating furniture are clean and comfortable, the entire interior is inviting and tastefully put together. Thus, this accommodation is a "well-being package", so that one can immediately switch to the "relaxation mode".
The holiday park itself is very quiet, hikes into nature start right outside the front door, and if necessary, you can also reach one or the other sight in the area by car.
We also send a greeting to the friendly neighbor, whose four-legged friend is big but well trained accordingly.
I have written this review of my own volition and have one more request to all future guests of the house:
PLEASE LEAVE SOME BOOKING DATES FREE FOR US - we would like to come back!

Relaxed family vacation

Even though the mountain location was a challenge for us Rhinelanders, we were able to enjoy the three-generation hikes with our dogs, as all trails were easily accessible from the house. From the first contact, there was a friendly communication with our hostess. The house was well equipped for our needs and we lacked nothing. Particularly pleasing was the very good contact with the neighbor. All in all, we spent a very nice and relaxed week in the holiday home.

We spent a very relaxing vacation in this quietly located and lovingly furnished holiday home. The kitchen is well-equipped and leaves nothing to be desired. Directly from the house, you can explore the surrounding area on extensive hikes. Many thanks also to the very friendly landlady Frau Reiss for her tips for trips in the area. The house in a generous natural setting is recommended.

With so much pure nature, mosquito screens must be put on the windows. We spent a lovely week in the house with our grandchildren (6 + 7 years). It was equipped with everything, nothing was missing.

Repeat offender

Every time anew, we look forward to coming to Machtlos and especially to the holiday home. Mrs. Reiß is a very good soul, and the two neighbors are very friendly and sociable. The equipment of the house leaves nothing to be desired, and if it does, Mrs. Reiß is not far away.

For us, vacationing here means completely disconnecting from everyday life and relaxing, even with 2 small children.

Even though one might think that Machtlos is at the "bottom of the world," that is far from the truth. There are incredibly many ways to pass the time. On the one hand, for bad weather, there are one or two games in the house, or you can drive with the children to the indoor playground in Bebra. Which, by the way, is really nice. Or to the swimming pool in Heringen. On the one hand, you have a nice view of Monte Kali, and on the other hand, there are real fish there.

But you can also hike very nicely. There is the Tannenburg about a 2-hour walk away, or the Märchenweg in Machtlos, the children's hiking trail in Sorga, hiking the Iba Wanderweg. If you don't want to hike, you can hop on a bike. If you prefer some cultural activities, Bad Hersfeld would be lovely, the historical monuments in the "Point Alpha" in Geisa, Eisenach with Wartburg Castle is also not far. Just to name a few excursion destinations. We have seen a lot during the times we were there, but unfortunately, we have to come back again because we haven't discovered everything yet. We are already looking forward to the next reunion.

Spontaneously at the edge of the forest

The house, its location at the top of the park mountain, and the very wooded surroundings are ideal for idyllic tranquility and extensive hikes directly from the front door. In this cozy holiday home, you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive, as it is lovingly and thoughtfully furnished. Everything was very satisfactory. Cleanliness: very good, as well as the equipment. The location of the house is optimal. There is hardly any direct contact with the neighbors. We could easily take our cat along with the dog. The landlords were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Another very relaxing, wonderful vacation

For the second time in the Haus Waldesrand, and this time even for 14 days. Everything was perfectly prepared. Small wishes were promptly fulfilled (for example, a salad serving set). A venison goulash was served, fitting with the forest surroundings. We slept very well for 14 days in the beautiful bed with cozy bed linens.

Over New Year's, we enjoyed a few very relaxed holiday days in the vacation home with our dog and granddaughter. Perfect for nature lovers who like to spend time in the forest. So beautiful!

So... how should one put it? We didn't want Christmas as you usually know it: crowded supermarkets, Christmas songs blaring from all speakers, brightly lit decorations, and then instant contemplation! So, we "escaped" to Machtlos and had wonderful, peaceful days in a perfectly equipped, lovingly furnished, and beautifully located holiday home. It was truly lovely! The landlady is a gem, the neighborhood extremely nice (even the dog).

Repeat offender

If you are looking for a lot of peace and relaxation in the middle of nature, you are in exactly the right place in machtlos. There is only one road in and one road out of the village. And that in the middle of Hesse's forest. Hiking, cycling and relaxing are on the agenda here
Just the right thing for my family and me. But there is also plenty to do here. Whether it's the swimming pool in Heringen, Monte Kali, a children's adventure trail 20 minutes away by car.
To be able to enjoy all thoughts freely, I can only recommend the accommodation "Waldesrand". The landlords are always available, very friendly and you get a family feeling. The cottage is very well maintained. Everything you need is there. Its the hairdryer, a fridge with freezer, top equipped kitchen, a small modern shower room. In the house itself you have many possibilities to sleep. The bedroom with a double bed, the children's room with a 140m loft bed and 2 single beds and a couch in the living room that can also be extended into a bed

Personally, we feel very comfortable there and have stayed in the little house for the 2nd time this year. It will not be the last time either.

Beautiful holiday home on the edge of the forest

We (family with two small children + dog) liked the holiday home very much. The furnishings are modern and there is really nothing missing!

Mrs. Reiß as the landlord is very accommodating and super friendly, we had a great contact.

You can go on excursions and hikes directly from the house or holiday park. There are also large playgrounds for the kids in the immediate vicinity.

In the end, we can recommend the house at the edge of the forest without reservation and will certainly come back soon!

Completely satisfied

Our stay was only 3 days, but even in this short time we felt completely comfortable. Mrs. Reiß is a very nice and friendly landlady (thank you very much for the hospitality). The house has been freshly renovated and leaves hardly any wish unfulfilled. Super equipped, cozily furnished, everything was considered! From bed linens, towels, dish soap, spices to coffee pods and tea filters, everything was really thought of. We have never experienced anything like this before. Therefore, this was certainly not our last stay in Machtlos.

We had a wonderful week in the cottage. Tastefully decorated. Everything you need. You can sit outside comfortably. A quiet location in the small park. Tolles Ferienhaus

The house is super equipped, we really didn't miss anything! From the Sodastream to Wi-Fi to the dog bed with treats, everything was available. The new modern equipment is really very attractive and well maintained. The view of the forest is great for relaxing, and the landlords are really very friendly and accommodating. The holiday park is very quietly located, a dream for people with children and dogs or those seeking tranquility. Just around the corner is a nature trail (Steinbachtal) that leads through forests and meadows. Without meeting a soul, one could hike and explore nature there splendidly. Perfect for those seeking peace and valuing a beautiful accommodation surrounded by nature.
