Location and surroundings of object

Hayingen with its districts Anhausen, Indelhausen im Lautertal, Ehestetten and Münzdorf has been one of the popular holiday and excursion destinations in the Swabian Alb for years. The climatic health resort of Hayingen with its valleys and plateaus has one of the best climates in the Swabian Alb. Nestled in a low mountain landscape up to 1000 metres above sea level, experience the diversity of nature here, breathe a sigh of relief in the holiday region between the Neckar and the Danube. The valley of the Great Lauter invites you into one of the most romantic hiking landscapes. Great vantage points, castles (Lichtenstein, Hohenzollern), ruins, caves - Bärenhöhle, Nelhöhle, Kohlenmeiler etc. are among the destinations around Hayingen.
he valley of the Great Lauter invites you into one of the most romantic hiking landscapes. Hikers will find silence and harmony between flower meadows, juniper heaths, beech forests and limestone rocks on the plateau. Great vantage points, castles, ruins, caves, charcoal piles etc. are among the destinations around Hayingen.

Well-maintained and signposted paths open up a beautiful landscape with the unique charm of the Alb. On the banks of the Lauter, the Zwiefalter Ach and in the Glastal, you can watch trout in the crystal-clear water and herons, listen to the lapping and rushing of the water, enjoy the peace and quiet or simply remember that the Swabian Alb owes its formation to a huge Jurassic sea. Fossilisations, karst caves, rock holes and eroded valleys are witnesses to the passage of time. Except at weekends, you can canoe on the Lauter (canoes can be hired).
The nearby Wimsen Cave can be visited by boat until the end of October. The healthy low mountain range climate of the Swabian Alb, the clear, spicy air are benefits for lungs and soul. Here you will find pure air for exercise: Hiking, cycling, gliding, ballooning, playing tennis, canoeing or paddling and in winter cross-country skiing on groomed trails. This healing air is also a boon for allergy sufferers. According to the number of sunny days, the Hayingen region is one of the most favoured landscapes in Germany. On clear days you can see as far as the Alps from Hayingen. Wimsen Cave in the Swabian Alb
Holiday Apartments in Hayingen on the Swabian Alb In Hayingen and the surrounding area, customs are still cultivated, "Feschtle" have become a proverbial tradition. For example, the town festival, the swimming pool festival, the Backhaushockete, the airfield hockete in mid-September or the hut evening at Derneck Castle in mid-October. For 50 years, Hayingen has been performing self-penned dialect plays in the open air, in front of unique backdrops created by nature, in the Hayingen valley gorge: theatre in its original form, from mid-July to the beginning of September, every Saturday at and every Sunday at With the Alb-Guide on the road, you can get to know the beauties of nature and the culture, the country and the people

Minister-President Günther Oettinger (CDU) accepted the UNESCO certificate for the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve in Münsingen. The UNESCO seal ensures the protection of the unique natural and cultural landscape.

Winter in the Swabian Alb The biosphere area was recognised by UNESCO in June 2009. This means that the Swabian Alb now belongs to the circle of 15 German and more than 500 biosphere reserves worldwide. Friends of the Earth Germany (BUND) welcomed the recognition. However, it warned against neglecting other important nature conservation projects in the state. Even outside of the large protected areas, nature conservation in Baden-Württemberg must be solidly financed, explained BUND Executive Director Berthold Frieß.

The Swabian Alb biosphere area is located about 50 kilometres southeast of Stuttgart. It extends around the former military training area Münsingen to parts of the districts Reutlingen, Esslingen and Alb-Donau-Kreis and includes 29 municipalities. With a total area of around one hectare, it is the first large-scale protected area in Baden-Württemberg. Special features of this area are the slope and ravine forests on the Alb ridge, the varied cultural landscape and the close interlocking with urban spaces

Away from mass tourism, the Swabian Alb offers everything for completely natural recreation. Perhaps there really is one last wild paradise in the south of Germany where you can feel at home pure and romantic towns: the Swabian Alb simply offers more than just nature and old castles - it is framed by towns full of life.

You will find the city with the highest quality of life in Germany just as much as Swabia's oldest city, which today is one of the most modern design strongholds. Medieval half-timbered houses, castles in the middle of the centre, idyllic market squares, narrow streets and alleys - these are environments that are made for living and reviving. No wonder that a multitude of poets and thinkers, artists and inventors are particularly associated with the Swabian Jura: Ludwig Uhland, Eduard Mörike, Hölderlin, Hesse, Hauff, Einstein, List, Bosch, Steiff, Märklin, Kepler, Bloch, to name just a few of the most famous. Perhaps it is the mixture of pristine landscape and the stimulating diversity of the cities that is a source of very special thoughts - even today

Leisure facilities:
Tennis court, basketball court, football pitch, covered playhouse with table football and table tennis, 2 children's playgrounds, open-air chess, sauna, barbecue areas and a "Wasch- und Trockenstüble". Bicycle, e-bike and Segway rental in the village.

The mini-golf course with 18 fields is a special highlight for all holiday guests. Sport is a popular leisure activity because, in addition to peace and concentration for the individual, it can also mean joy and sociability in the community. Play a round with your friends and acquaintances at the Lauterdörfle holiday park.

My husband and I live in a small town near Stuttgart. We like the Swabian Alb very much. That's why we have now bought a holiday home in Hayingen, which we have been renting out as a holiday home since August 2016. We really like the holiday park with its many leisure activities. We also find the restaurant in the holiday park very cosy and appealing.
