Description

The apartment house is located on the district Mezzane
(Ortsverwaltung Villanuova sull`Clisi) about km from the sea, on the west bank
Garda.
Overlooking the lake, the hill at whose feet the romantic village
Salo extends. Parking for the car and a lawn are right
the house.
The building is divided into nine separate apartments. The apartment has a
private entrance and is approximately 75 square meters.
Smoking permitted in outdoor areas.

The 3 room apartment of the Bertolino family has the following breakdown:

Stay at Casa Bertolino from October 9 - 22, 2024

We experienced two wonderful weeks in the generously sized vacation apartment and felt very comfortable. The well-equipped apartment is located a bit off the tourist paths of Lake Garda. One can take beautiful cultural excursions in the nearby and further surroundings, or also discover the mountains and villages above Lake Garda on foot. Mezzane is a "mixed village" of locals and holiday guests, which has its charm. The "guide" from the landlord of the vacation rental was very helpful, with many insider tips on interesting excursion destinations, restaurants, shopping options, . . .
Highly recommendable.

We were allowed to spend 7 days in the Casa Bertolino. The arrival was uncomplicated and flexible in planning thanks to the key safe. The clean holiday apartment has everything necessary. The drive to/from Salò only takes a few minutes. The terrace and the balcony are spacious. The neighborhood is very nice.

Highly recommended!

Holiday home

The house is beautifully situated on a hill where it is pleasantly quiet. There are many short excursions in the vicinity and Salo is a wonderful place to stroll around

Girls' holiday

We were 6 girls and had a great holiday :-) The house is perfectly adequate for a short holiday for up to 6 people, as we were on the road every day anyway. You can get to the beach at the lake in Salo very quickly and there are also plenty of parking facilities. Salo is a very nice town with its many boutiques and restaurants. In the evening on the huge terrace or on the balcony above, with a view of Lake Garda, we had a nice end to the day. We were completely satisfied, it was a great holiday and we will gladly come back :-)

Beautiful holiday

We spent 3 months there and felt very comfortable.
It is quiet, you can relax well. Nature all around. On the two spacious terraces (ground floor and first floor) there is enough seating furniture (also 2 loungers). The flat has everything you need. Practically, there is also a washing machine. Of course, you can't get by without a car. You always have to drive if you want to go to the lake or to the shops. Down in the village you will find all the shops, including Aldi and Lidl and a shopping centre. The neighbours are all very nice and extremely helpful. We received many suggestions for excursions and sightseeing from the very nice landlord. We will be happy to come back.

Garda Vita

A beautiful, peaceful house in the steep mountains above SALO'. Spacious rooms, balcony/terrace, playground, parking, connection to super nice neighbors (locals as well as tourists) on request, good equipment with particularly commendable beds. Mobility on site only possible by car or motorcycle. Good starting point for day trips (Verona, Brescia, mountainous hinterland). SALO' and its surroundings (bay and horn near San Felice) offer many wonderful opportunities for beach holidays and discovering Italian lifestyle. You will find beautiful villages, quiet corners, bustling promenades. And in VILLANUOVA (about 5 km) a brand new ALDI SuperSize - probably the only possibility to get fresh whole grain bread at Lake Garda.
Those who prefer self-catering with family are well accommodated in this accommodation. Clear recommendation!

Quiet location on the mountain above Salo

Casa Bertolino in Mezzane is located in a quiet setting in a mountain village with Lake Garda at its feet. The lake is visible from the house and the view of the bay of Salo is breathtaking, especially at night. Everything you need is available in the house, so you can arrive with small luggage. The flat is a good starting point for excursions in the area, with transport connections in all directions. However, you will need your own car. The nearby town of Salo is a friendly place where you can stroll and eat along the promenade. The tourist rate in Salo is apparently quite a bit lower than in the neighbouring towns of Limone and Sirmione. If it's still too much, Casa Bertolino is a first-class haven of peace.

Great!

Thank you very much for the accommodation. Three of us stayed there (2 adults, 1 child) and we were very satisfied. There was no lack of equipment, the terraces were tolerably cool even in the great heat this year thanks to the marquee and the shade it provided. However, we didn't get the bedrooms cooled down, so it stayed very hot at night, especially as the outside temperature in the week didn't drop below 25°C even at night.... The location is far up on a mountain, for bike tours you need a very very good fitness, but a good starting point for hikes directly from the flat. Otherwise you are dependent on the car.
We were very satisfied and will gladly come back!

Beautifully non-touristy

We have been there for the fourth time now and would come back anytime. Salvatore's tips are worth their weight in gold. A great pizzeria in the village, which we would probably never have seen otherwise, a dreamy beach (especially for small children, with a shallow entry and sandy bottom starting from about 10 meters) should be mentioned.

Then the proximity to Verona, Brescia, Salo, Gardaland, Deszenzano, and Sirmione.

The neighbors are great, they speak English and of course Italian. They are approachable for things around the house, but Salvatore also responds to messages very quickly.

The house is functionally equipped, but you are mostly at the lake or on one of the wonderful terraces. The mattresses of the beds are good, the house is clean, the kitchen is equipped with the basics when you arrive. You just have to drive by car for every little thing, but that is quickly organized with trips to the lake.

Furthermore, the location of Mezzane (about 300 meters above the lake) makes the place pleasantly cool in the evening hours. We had 18 degrees at night in July, even though it was 33 degrees during the day at the lake.

The TV is new, works and has German channels, a large refrigerator, large closets, and a lot of seating options as well as the small garden complete everything.

And then this view of the lake...

If you dare: the road to Mezzane has a gradient of about 8-10% over 3 kilometers, a sporty run at the end of the day really got me sweating.

ANYTIME AGAIN!!!

Great holiday accommodation

We stayed at the accommodation together with our dog last week.
Thanks to the detailed directions, we found the accommodation quickly, and the key handover was also quick, allowing us to meet the nice neighbors.
The apartment or house is spacious and located in a small village on a hill.
We always had breakfast on the upper balcony - with a great view of the lake and the surrounding hills. We were also able to take our dog for a walk directly above the house in the forest, where designated hiking trails can be found.
The nearest shopping facilities are about a 5-10 minute drive away. The long and beautiful lakeside promenade in Saló, where there are also some nice bathing spots, can be reached in 10 minutes.
We didn't mind being dependent on the car. Saló itself has plenty of parking spaces. There are also good restaurants right on the lake. But cooking for ourselves is also no problem, as the small kitchen has everything you need. We also enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening on the upper balcony. :-)

Beautiful holiday time at Lake Garda with a mountain feeling

We found a very nice landlord, Mr. Bertolino, for the holiday apartment at Lake Garda. The preparations beforehand and the contact were flawless throughout. The key handover on site in Mezzane was well organized.

The apartment is nicely furnished and has tiles everywhere. The kitchen is functional. The upper balcony is a dream! Especially for quiet evenings together. However, you have to really want to drive a car when booking this accommodation. Unfortunately, nothing is accessible without a car. Once you've found your way around the area, it's not a problem and the area is easy to explore.
Due to the steep mountain location, you have a great view of Lake Garda.
Nevertheless, I must say that we have already fallen in love with the area after a few days and despite the location, we are considering coming back next year.

Every year again - absolutely amazing.

Beautiful, spacious, top-furnished and very quiet holiday apartment. Especially the kitchen is super equipped for a holiday apartment and there was nothing missing. There was even a high chair at the dining table for our youngest upon request. The holiday apartment is located above Salo in a small village. The view from the upper terrace is really great, you can see the bay of Salo. The outdoor area is completely fenced in - this was perfect for us as a family with children and a dog. The "Italian neighbors" of the Mahrfamilienhaus were also very nice and our children quickly made new friends. Beaches can be reached in a few minutes by car, as well as numerous shopping opportunities. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Gardaland, Caneva and the Safari Park. Since the holiday apartment is located on the mountain in a very quiet residential area, you really need the car for everything, but this didn't bother us at all. We will gladly come back.

My wife works as a teacher and I work a lifetime at Deutsche Telekom. We live on the rough and charming Swabian Alb. With three children and three Ekelkinder we are a large family of entrenched European roots (Germany, Italy, Turkey and Spain).
