The Holiday home

Casa Maresia is located 25 meters from the sea in a quiet alley. The living area is 120 m2 and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The house is very well suited for families with small children. It has in addition to a southwest facing terrace a protected, leafy patio (courtyard), which is at ground level to commit through the kitchen.

Sun lovers will feel in Casa Maresia particularly well: breakfast in the morning sun in the patio, from noon to sunset you can enjoy the sun together with stunning sea views to the south west facing terrace on the first floor.

Ideal for several couples / friends and families with small children (sheltered patio, cot, high chair, ..). Very comfortable, completed extensive refurbishment (incl. bathrooms) until the end of January 2016th

Location and surroundings of object

Location on the sunny and climatically preferred southwest coast of the island. At this coastal zone there is sunshine the year round and the temperatures are especially in the winter months the highest of the island and rarely below 22 degrees.

Casa Maresia is in Alcalà, a small, oceanfront place where the atmosphere of a fishing village is still evident., Alcalá is the best choice for lovers of the sea. It has several bays and beaches that are partially protected by lavarocks to the open sea. Right next to the Plaza there is the beach of Alcalá with a small sandy area and a large bathing terrace with a bench made of volcanic stone slabs, which are heated by the sun. The warm lava volcanic stone slabs are especially beneficial for people with low back pain or joint diseases, even the climate of this coastal zone is a very healing. The breathing air is enriched with iodine and salt, which in turn is especially very pleasing to the respiratory tract and skin.
At the beach they rent sunbeds and umbrellas.

Alcalà is by mass tourism yet undamaged, no skyscrapers, no faceless resorts with overcrowded pools, souvenir dealer or noisy large discos. There is a charming little spanish Plaza seaside with restaurants, cafes, tapas bars, a supermarket and every Monday there is a farmers market. Perfect local amenities with a butcher, fishmonger, bakery, pharmacy, international supermarket - all within a five minute walk.

Within a 10 minute walk there is the luxury hotel Gran Melia with some sand/gravel bays, open to the public. They offer sunbeds/umbrellas for rent and a charming bistro, directly seafront. A large fine sandy sandy beach is located at the fishing port of Playa San Juan. By car you reach this in five minutes drive or a 45min walk along the sea.

Alcalà – ein Fischerdorf mit Charme

Die Lage der ‘Casa Maresia’ in dieser reizenden Ortschaft ist einfach ideal. Fischladen, Bäckerei, Früchte/Gemüseladen, Restaurants, Parkplatz usw. alles in der Nähe. Die Wohnung ist grosszügig konzipiert und es hat viel Platz. Alles war sehr sauber. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet. Es fehlt an nichts. Die Beschreibung und die Fotos der Wohnung auf der Sonnenlust-Homepage widerspiegeln die Realität! Claudia hat uns herzlich empfangen und war immer hilfsbereit und grosszügig. Von der ‚Casa Maresia‘ aus lassen sich wunderbare Wanderungen unternehmen, sei es es in Richtung Santiago/Gigantes oder in Richtung San Juan. Die Wanderungen entlang dem Meer dauern je nach Strecke jeweils ca. 30 bis 60 Minuten pro Weg. Die Strandpromenade, welche gleich um die Ecke anfängt, lädt zum Entspannen und Baden ein. Wir haben uns in den 4 Wochen, die wir hier verbracht haben, sehr wohl gefühlt. Für das nächste Jahr haben wir bereits wieder bei Claudia gebucht.

Einfach perfekt!

Die Casa Maresia war für unsere Familie (3 Generationen mit Kindern im Alter von 3, 6 und 11) perfekt. Die Aufteilung der Zimmer im oberen Stock, die zwei Bäder und der große Wohnbereich im Erdgeschoss sind sehr günstig für sechs Personen. Die Beschreibung der Wohnung auf der Webseite ist ehrlich und nicht geschönt, wie man es sonst manchmal findet. Vielen Kommentaren können wir uns anschließen. Hier noch einige Ergänzungen: Das Häuschen ist sauber, gut ausgestattet und verfügt über einige „goodies“ wie schöner Bettwäsche inkl. „richtiger“ Bettdecken und Kopfkissen, bequemer, großer Matratzen, ansprechende Bäder.
Die Lage zum Meer ist ideal und auch kleine Nichtschwimmer finden Flecken zum Baden. Der Ort ist niedlich und noch touristisch unverbraucht.
Frau Bachmayer hat uns freundlich empfangen und war schon im Vorfeld jederzeit bereit, all unsere Fragen zu beantworten.
Insgesamt haben wir einen tollen Urlaub in Alcalá verbracht.

Casa Maresia is spacious enough for six people. We travelled with my parents and our two kids from Sweden to Tenerife. Upon arrival the kids have already been very tired and bored but what a surprise: the landlady expected us with typical austrian „Easter Eggs“ for the kids and we got a fruit basket and a water bottle! The house is very well equipped (also with dishwasher) and has an exotic dining table made of Indonesian wood. The bathrooms are light and clean, the terrace is small but sunny almost all day long. And you have also the possibility to sit outside in the patio. Location recommended!

Ein wunderschönes Plätzchen!

Wir haben uns im Haus Maresia sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus liegt so nahe am Meer, dass man bei geöffnetem Fenster beruhigend die Wellen rauschen hört. Von den Lokalen in der unmittelbaren Nähe oder auch am Hauptplatz, welche in in der Gästemappe angeführt sind, haben wir fast alle ausprobiert und waren immer zufrieden, wodurch wir uns das Kochen untertags erspart haben. Parkplatz für das Mietauto immer in unmittelbarer Eingangsnähe gefunden. Vom Haus aus kann man wunderbare Spaziergänge an der neu angelegten Strandpromenade, die bis auf ein kleines (20m) Stück am Ende der natürlichen Badeanlage toll ausgebaut ist und bis zur nächsten Ortschaft und auch weiter bis Los Gigantes führt. Das Wetter hier ist fantastisch (Dez). Jeden Tag Sonne und zwischen 19-25 Grad. Wind geht immer, stört aber nicht. Sogar das Wasser ist, obwohl Atlantik auch zu dieser Jahreszeit beschwimmbar (22 Grad). Allerdings kann es aufgrund des oft starken Wellenganges schwer sein ins Wasser zu kommen, vor allem bei den Leitern. Da bieten sich die gleich in der Nähe liegenden äußerst gepflegten Badestrände, die anscheinend durch das benachbarte Luxushotel betreut werden, an. Hier wachen Bademeister, dass man sich bei entsprechender Wellenlage (rote Flagge) nicht zu weit hinauswagt. Am Strand an der Mole ALCALA (wenige Schritte vom Haus entfernt). kann man auch bis Sonnenuntergang liegen/lesen, da man den Rücken an der Lava wand (aufgewärmt durch die Sonne) wärmen kann. Überhaupt fällt auf, dass die Insel extrem gepflegt und sauber ist. Im Gegensatz zu Las Americas und Los Christianos (Tourismushochburgen) ist es in ALCALA und Umgebung sehr ruhig und erholsam. Auch ohne Auto kann man aufgrund der vorhandenen Infrastruktur (Geschäfte, Lokale und Bademöglichkeiten) gut auskommen und sich garantiert gut erholen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Casa Maresia is the perfect holiday home for families. It is very well located in Alcala – just a few meters form the oceanfront. The town’s central square, the super markets, butchers, fishmongers or grocery store are all in walking distance. Still there are plenty of parking spaces just around the corner for a rental car.
The house is very well equipped – a washing machine, a dishwasher as well as the freshly renovated two bathrooms make the stay very comfortable. The new beds guarantee a relaxed sleep. The ocean view form the balcony facing south-west let’s you enjoy the sun set. The spacious and dining living room allow for cosy nights inside. The patio is nicely decorated with wonderful flowers.
Mrs Bachmayer, the landlord, is very reliable and always ready to assist. For those who don’t know their way around she prepared a little hand-out with tips for excursions, restaurants and useful addresses such as a doctor, a shuttle service to the airport and so on.
We will definitely come back!

Das Casa Maresia war ein absoluter Glücksgriff für unsere Gruppe von 4 Erwachsenen und einem Kind. Die Gegend ist gerade im Winter sehr wetterbeständig und warm, während es im Norden der Insel zur Zeit nass und bewölkt ist. Nach dieser Woche meinen wir geschlossen, dass Alcalá das schönste Örtchen zwischen Las Americas und Los Gigantes ist, da hier der Massentourismus noch nicht das Stadtbild prägt und man das Gefühl hat, nicht nur als Geldbringer-Tourist abgefertigt zu werden. Das Haus liegt ca. 30m von der Küstenpromenade entfernt und man ist in 2-3 Gehminuten am früheren Fischereihafen mit der Möglichkeit zwischen den Felsen zu schwimmen und dem Marktplatz. Richtung Norden gibt es eine ca. 300m lange komplett neu angelegte, wunderschöne Strandpromenade mit verschiedenen Spielplätzen, natürliche Meerwasserschwimmbecken und Sandstränden. In Laufnähe sind Supermarkt, Apotheke, mehrere Tapas-Bars und Restaurants. Wir haben zudem immer einen Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus gefunden. Das Häuschen selbst wurde neu (inkl. Bäder) und hochwertig renoviert und ist liebevoll eingerichtet (inkl. neuen Betten und Matratzen). Die sehr freundlichen und unkomplizierten (österreichischen) Vermieter haben uns selbst empfangen und waren offen für jeden Verbesserungsvorschlag. Zudem haben sie eine Mappe mit persönlichen Insidertipps und Kontakten in der Gegend vorbereitet, inkl. einem Kontakt zu einem deutschen Arzt, der wegen unserer kranken Tochter sogar zu einem Hausbesuch vorbei kam. Alles in Allem sehr weiter zu empfehlen, was wir auch in unserem persönlichem Bekanntenkreis tun werden!
