Description

The Atempause holiday flat has a large lounge with connectable Wi-Fi, a kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor.
On the first floor there is a bedroom with a double bed and in the attic there is another bedroom with two single beds and a toilet.
An additional sleeping accommodation as well as a children's travel bed can be set up if required. The facility is thus suitable for up to five people

Via a barn door, you enter the spacious living room on the ground floor with wardrobe and cosy family sofa, which invites you to relax, read or watch TV. In the dining area, our guests sit traditionally at a large old wooden table. The matching corner bench was made according to a historical model. An eye-catcher is the painted cupboard from around 1830. The four seasons are depicted in an original way

The adjoining kitchen is fully equipped with solid beech wood furniture, modern appliances and a glass splashback. The kitchen window serves as a "pass-through" in summer. So dinner can be enjoyed on the terrace with a view of the mountains and the sunset

The bathroom impresses with its solidity and comfort. The tiles are made of blue Kösseine granite. The wooden washstand with its large mirror and Wunsiedler marble top is a modern translation of the antique washstand. The large shower can be accessed at floor level. Showering under the ceiling shower becomes a special "rain experience"

The barn staircase leads from the living room to the first floor with the bedroom. The double bed, the large wardrobe and the mirrored chest of drawers date from the 1920s. The furniture has been carefully restored and invites you to a restful sleep in a historical ambience. The view through the windows and the former loading door, through which straw and hay used to be transported, reveals an extensive landscape of meadows, fields and forests

A somewhat steeper staircase leads from the bedroom to the bedroom, which can be rented as an extension of the holiday flat and has two natural wooden beds, a beautiful painted wardrobe from 1826 and a separate WC.

Outside, our guests will find a large meadow with old trees and various seating areas, as well as a fireplace, barbecue, small terrace in front of the kitchen window and parking space in the courtyard

Location and surroundings of object

The legendary Fichtelgebirge is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Bavaria. In the midst of this idyllic mountain scenery lies a small village with our listed farm. In the barn, which is over 100 years old, a large holiday flat has been created with great sensitivity and building biology materials. Here, holidaymakers can take a "breather", enjoy the historic charm and the relaxed atmosphere

Whether you are a culture or nature lover, a bon vivant or a health-conscious person, alone, as a couple or as a family: if you spend your holidays here, you will find the nearest cross-country ski trail on your doorstep in winter, skiing areas around the Ochsenkopf as well as enchanted winter forests and a spacious living area for long evenings

The other seasons are best suited for golf, hiking, climbing, cycling tours and excursions to Weissenstadt to the lake, to Luisenburg Castle with its rock labyrinth and festival, or to the neighbouring Bohemian spas of Karlovy Vary, Marienbad and Franzensbad
The village of Vierst lies off the main roads on a slight hill surrounded by fields and meadows. Today it consists of seven farms and residential houses. Guests can buy fresh milk, honey and eggs from the neighbours. For those who like hiking or cycling, this is an ideal starting point right on the doorstep. In just a few minutes you can walk to a large forest area, the fabulous Zeitelmoos, and in about two hours to the Schneeberg massif with its wildly romantic rock formations. Natural swimming ponds in Tröstau or Bad Alexandersbad as well as the Weißenstädter See lake invite you to swim in summer. In winter, cross-country skiers are drawn to the numerous trails in the area. Alpine skiing is also popular on groomed slopes in the "high Fichtelgebirge".

additional information:

The dream of individual living in an old farmhouse surrounded by large meadows, old trees and a farm garden became reality for us. We renovated our listed property over a number of years with great respect for the old building fabric, largely using historical handicraft techniques and ecological building materials

During the careful renovation, we used almost exclusively materials of natural origin. We used local wood, stone, clay plaster, clay tiles, sophisticated wall and floor heating systems, hand-forged door fittings, hand-blown window glass and organic waxes and oils for the surface treatment. Great care has also been taken with the furnishings. A mixture of antique and high-quality new furniture rounds off the harmonious appearance. For many who are not used to this unique ambience, the stay in our barn becomes a sensual experience

The holiday home has been restored over a long period of time with attention to detail. It should preferably be rented by guests who appreciate this difference

The listed holiday barn is not barrier-free. Special attention should be paid when walking on the stairs in the listed holiday barn, as they do not comply with today's standards in terms of the gradient ratio. Other deviations from the usual procedures in a 21st century house are also quite welcome, but are no reason for liability claims against the landlord

Breathing space with toddlers

Very nice holiday flat, extremely clean and thoughtfully furnished. We were there with 2 small children, the stairs have a grate down and one up to the 2nd floor, so we could let the children sleep without worrying. You can go for a nice walk from there. Really idyllic and we would love to come back.
