Cycling over the Rennsteig ridge is quite an experience! Eagles, black cocks, lynxes and numerous other animal species, which hardly exist in the rest of Europe, still find a habitat here. Around the flats, deer, roe deer and other animals come to drink from the stream and you experience pure nature in this way.

Family reunion
We were in the house with 14 people.
5 smaller children.
We lacked nothing and could enjoy the days very much.
We felt very comfortable both inside and outside.
Highly recommended for families with children.
We had nice weather, but even in the rain, there is enough to play inside, including a ping-pong table.

Gladly again!
Very nice and tastefully furnished house, which is also very clean and cosy.
We felt very comfortable, although it was quite cold for high summer, we didn't miss anything! Very friendly house managers and quiet surroundings.
Wifi is really recommended!
We would like to come back next year.

Holiday home Schneekopf
We stayed in the cottage this autumn weekend as a family of 9 and felt comfortable with plenty of space and also a table tennis table
We liked the location of the house in the nature. From Gehlberg we could walk to the Schneekopf, the second highest mountain in Thuringia (978 m)
The on-site support by Mr and Mrs Romeissen was very friendly and good!
The rental contract was unfortunately very extensive, there was a lot to read...

We were completely satisfied
We celebrated my father-in-law's 70th birthday at the house and were able to sit together (12 adults) at the table. It was wonderful. Everything necessary was available in good quality. The fact that the house is not new again adds a certain charm. The brook right next to the holiday home allowed for extensive activities for the children. The hikes to the Schneekopf and a trip to Oberhof made the stay complete. All in all - for what we had in mind - family reunion in the "middle" - PERFECT.

Wir hatten drei wundervolle Tage
Great apartments. We had the large one on the 1st floor and a small one on the ground floor. They are exactly as described and shown in the photos.
In about 10 minutes, you reach a great sledging hill with a direct parking lot and a hut for non-sledders.
Another 10 minutes to reach Oberhof.
Although the house is located on a not very busy but still directly on the main road through the village. You definitely need a car, so a deduction in points for the location. Another factor leading to a deduction in points is the price/performance ratio, which may arise from a misunderstanding between the Dutch (landlord) rental culture and the German one. When renting without bed linen and towels, I assumed at least the presence of bedding (pillow and duvet). However, these are also included in the rental fee of 15.00 €. We were able to resolve this easily and could rent the bedding for an additional 7.50 € per person. Next time, I would immediately book the rental bedding to avoid it for our short trip with 11 people. The whole process and contact with the landlord and the on-site manager went very smoothly, the equipment is TOP (including a lot of games and a ping pong table for the children).
The house is definitely recommended without any hesitation.
