A bathing area with a sunbathing lawn is in the immediate vicinity of the house, a public bathing establishment with a slide and diving tower is about 700 m away.
The historic town centre of Sternberg is about 10 minutes' walk away. Many small shops invite you to stroll and shop in the beautiful old town with its ramparts, brick church and town gate.
Sports facilities are available: a golf course about 20 minutes away, horse riding, canoeing, swimming, hiking, cycling, fishing and much more.
The Sternberg lake district with its almost 90 lakes and wooded surroundings offers a wide range of leisure and recreational opportunities. Everything is possible: hiking, cycling, sailing, surfing, fishing and swimming.
Many small shops invite you to stroll and shop in the beautiful old town with its ramparts, brick church and town gate.
The small town, which is over 750 years old, is rightly called the town of lakes and forests in the heart of Mecklenburg. The town has always had a great attraction and played a special role in Mecklenburg's history. Even today you can still discover many contemporary witnesses to its eventful history, the restored town hall with its unique market square ensemble, as well as the early Gothic brick church and the mill gate.
Many of Sternberg's institutions are worth a visit, such as the local history museum in the town's oldest town house, or in the district of Groß Raden, the Oldtimer Museum and the State Archaeological Museum, which is unique in northern Germany.
Visitors to the former state parliament town and today's resort town will find many other sights in the immediate vicinity, and those looking for relaxation and recreation will certainly find it in Sternberg.
The picturesque hilly landscape with almost 90 lakes in the immediate vicinity is considered one of the most beautiful in the country.

Cancellation terms:
A cancellation can be made at any time without providing reasons in writing (email, fax, letter). The following conditions apply for cancellation: up to 56 days before the rental period - 30%, from 56 days before the rental period - 70%, from 28 days before the rental period - 100% of the rental fee as cancellation charge. In the case of cancellation, if the booked period is re-rented, a flat fee of 65 EUR will be charged. There is no refund for early departure or non-arrival. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

Holiday home
The house is idyllically located by Lake Sternberg, providing a great view. We particularly liked this. The furnishings of the house are more in line with the 90s, especially the bathrooms. Furthermore, we found the kitchen very small; there was a lack of counter space. Since the houses are close together, a privacy screen would have been optimal to have a bit more privacy.

Another great vacation in this beautiful cottage.
I have already been to this wonderful place 5 times this year. I don't really know what else to write. Perfect location, tastefully decorated, perfect facilities, perfect place, great landlady. This time it was very quiet, as few neighbors were present, ideal for relaxing properly. The weather wasn't that great and not really suitable for swimming. But we could mostly sit outside and enjoy the wonderful view of the lake. And then there is also the boat that had to withstand so much more. After many years, I finally found the transition to Lake Trent, from where you can row on to Groß Raden if you have the endurance and enough strength. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for sightseeing or hiking. And for those who just want to "laze around," this is also the perfect place. Another insider tip for future vacationers: In Mestlin, a small village near Dabel, towards Parchim, there is a nostalgic restaurant with fantastic food. The name itself is intriguing. It's called "Saustall" (Pigsty). Highly recommended! I will definitely come back, and certainly not for the last time.

Once again, a great vacation in a great accommodation
I have already been to this beautiful holiday home for the 4th time. Sometimes with my husband and dog, sometimes alone. This is the ideal opportunity to forget everyday worries and relax for a short time. The equipment leaves nothing to be desired. Not only is everything there that you need, but the holiday home is also furnished with a lot of love and taste. You feel comfortable immediately. The surroundings are beautiful and offer many possibilities for activities. And for those who just want to laze around, they can relax on the terrace, in the boat, or at the bathing spot. The only downside was the overgrown hedge towards the lake, which blocked the great view of the water while sitting. But no problem... The woman took matters into her own hands: a regular pair of scissors effortlessly created a wide peephole across from the table. And everything was visible again... I can only recommend this house. The landlady is very nice and approachable in every way. I will definitely come back in 2024.

Relaxation all around
My dog and I couldn't have found a better place. Ideally located directly at the lake with a small private garden. The house is very well equipped and of high quality. It met all the criteria described.
Sternberg is a small, pretty town with very good shopping facilities. On Wednesdays, there is a weekly market with a rotisserie trailer. There are very good hiking trails in the surrounding area and Wismar and Schwerin are not far away.
Absolute insider tips: The "wilde Möhre" restaurant in Borkow and the Sternberger fish trade with smoked eel from the Sternberger See (amongst others).
We will definitely come back here.

Holiday home
The kitchen appears much larger in the photo than in reality. A full-length mirror would be nice. Personally, I would miss a fence to bring my dogs. Otherwise, it was very nice and relaxing days.
