Description
The house was lovingly restored by us from 2008-2012, with the usual comforts of today. There are three separate bedrooms (two with a large double bed, one with a single bed), as well as 2 sleeping places in the fireplace room, directly in front of the fireplace. The large well-equipped kitchen with dining area inside, as well as outside, offers cooking enthusiasts who like to get their fresh vegetables from the Saturday market in Mires and the best meat from butchers in Pombia and Sivas, everything needed for cooking and baking
The enclosed courtyard offers peace and quiet and plenty of places to relax on different levels. The terrace on the roof offers a magnificent view of Psiloritis (the highest mountain in Crete), as well as the surrounding mountain massifs, in the distance you can see the white mountains and on clear days the sea. Olive groves as far as the eye can see!
Nice neighbours make a lot of things easier in the new surroundings (if you want!)
The beaches of Kalamaki, Matala and the beautiful Komos Beach are 20-25 minutes away by car. All around in the mountains you will find many beautiful villages, breathtaking gorges and lonely bays. The archaeological sites of Phaistos and Agia Deka are also only 20 minutes away
The district town of Mires (Moires), with all the necessary facilities, such as supermarkets, greengrocers, doctors, pharmacies, hospital and every Saturday market, is 2km away, Sivas and Pitsidia with nice tavernas and cafes are 10-15 minutes away.
You have the whole house to yourself!
If you have no problem with a very loving (and watchful!) little dog, "Boubou" will be happy to be your guest! That's why we can't accept pets in our house
In the "Apothiki" (storage room) you will find another fridge, a washing machine and firewood (by arrangement).
As of April 2017, our beautiful pool is finally ready, not for jumping and big swimming, but otherwise a paradise! We are very happy about it and find it a great addition to the property! Pool depth is only 1.00 m!!!
We will do our best to answer any request immediately!
Questions, wishes such as rental cars, flight connections, etc. can be sent to us with pleasure! A rental car can be provided for the entire time from/to the airport.
If you need help or tips on site, just ask our neighbours.
You can park your rental car on the street below the house, and drive right up to the front door to unload and load it.

Location and surroundings of object
Very beautiful view over the Messara and the surrounding mountains with the highest mountain of Crete, the Psiloritis.
The house is in the middle of the village, near the beautiful little church. Nevertheless, due to the completely enclosed courtyard, you also have your peace and privacy. Peri is a small village on a hill above the fertile Messara plain with nice helpful inhabitants without any tourism. One is immersed in Greek life.

From April 2017, our small pool will finally be in operation again for the summer months!!! We think that this will definitely be an enrichment for our house. We have to increase the prices a little bit in this period, because the maintenance is very expensive.

It was dreamlike
We were there for a fortnight,
And it was mega fantastic. We already want to go back. This house is a dream and you think time stands still
The hospitality in the village was really great
We will definitely come back
It's a little paradise and the pool is enough
The sea is also close by and the market on Saturdays in Mires is really great

Perfect family home away from the tourist crowds
Five of us spent 1 week in the well-kept and individual old house. The sheltered courtyard with a refreshing small pool and a terrace with a great view absolutely tempted us to stay. Excursions to beautiful beaches about 20 minutes away were nevertheless tempting. A trip to the archaeological museum in Heraklion was also no problem. The charming neighbour Danai cooked wonderfully for us - visits to her chickens, dog and cat were a daily must for our grandchild. Life was wonderfully slow in the small village - we would have loved to stay longer.

Everything our hearts have desired
A beautiful, traditional house... lovingly furnished, simply an oasis for rest and relaxation. We have taken Danai, the dear neighbor who is so hospitable, and Boubou, the little black dog who felt so comfortable in the house and with us, to our hearts. Simply divine for a relaxed vacation. Perfectly furnished, great sun terrace with overwhelming views, nice and helpful neighbor who can cook wonderfully in a small dreamy village, numerous beaches easily accessible by car and the weather is always a bit nicer in the south.

Abseits des Strandtourismus...
... und doch in Meeresnähe, ist dieses wunderschöne und mit all seinen Details - innen wie außen - liebevoll renovierte Dorfhaus eine Oase der Ruhe und dörflicher Langsamkeit. Wenn man nicht sowieso gleich am ersten Tag die Uhr ablegt, kann man in Peri den sonst oft hektischen und schnellen Stadtalltag für eine Weile vergessen und im Takt eines kleinen kretischen Dörfchens leben.
Das schließt natürlich auch mit ein, dass zB der Hirte mit seinen Schafen durch das Dorf zieht, der Geistliche die griechisch-orthodoxe Morgenmesse singend zelebriert oder die Dorfhunde ihre Revierkämpfe in der Nacht austragen... Und über allem wacht das Käuzchen - und der kleine Hund Boubou, der uns immer ein lieber Gast war.
Peri bietet sich als Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge vom Haus aus durch die Olivenhaine an, genauso geht´s mit dem Auto sehr schnell zu Wanderungen in die Berge oder zu Einkäufen in die Stadt. Und das nahe gelegene Städtchen Mires bietet nicht nur zum Samstagsmarkt so einiges an geschäftigem Treiben...
Ein Dankeschön also an Carolyn und Thomas, die mit Ihren detaillierten Beschreibungen und Tipps nicht zuviel versprochen haben und mit der freundlichen Nachbarschaft auch immer einen hilfreichen Ansprechpartner vor Ort haben.

Wenn Sie die Ruhe lieben ...
… dann sind Sie hier genau richtig!
Kokkino Spiti ist ein wunderbarer Ort zum Einfach-mal-nichts-tun, zum Entspannen und Relaxen! Abseits des Massentourismus findet man hier einen Ort, an den man gern zurückkommt.
Ein Haus, das sauber und wirklich sehr liebevoll eingerichtet ist und alles hat, was man braucht. Haus und Hof bieten viel Platz.
Die Umgebung bietet Möglichkeiten für viele einsame Spaziergänge und wunderbare Ausblicke. Mit dem Auto ist es nicht weit zu den Stränden, Ausgrabungsstätten, Ausgangspunkten für größere Wanderungen. Zum Einkaufen findet man im nahen Mires alles, was man braucht.
Mit Carolyn und Thomas hatten wir einen guten Kontakt und Hilfe bei der Planung und Organisation. Danke den beiden auch für die vielen guten Tipps!
Fazit: Es war alles so wie im Angebot beschrieben.
Ruhig, schönes Anwesen, schöne Umgebung, nette Nachbarn, nette Gastgeber - wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt - wir kommen wieder!!!

Traumhafter Urlaub wie im Paradies
Wir haben erholsame und unvergessliche Tage in diesem wunderschönen Objekt verbracht. Mit sehr viel Liebe und bemerkenswertem Geschmack ist sowohl der Aussen- als auch der Innenbereich gestaltet.
Mit dem Mietwagen war alles möglich: Baden an den verschiedensten Stränden, Besichtigung antiker Stätten, Bergtouren...
Wer die Ruhe liebt und dem touristischen Trouble entfliehen will, ist hier bestens aufgehoben.
