Description
The house was lovingly restored by us from 2008-2012, with the usual comforts of today. There are three separate bedrooms (two with a large double bed, one with a single bed), as well as 2 sleeping places in the fireplace room, directly in front of the fireplace. The large well-equipped kitchen with dining area inside, as well as outside, offers cooking enthusiasts who like to get their fresh vegetables from the Saturday market in Mires and the best meat from butchers in Pombia and Sivas, everything needed for cooking and baking
The enclosed courtyard offers peace and quiet and plenty of places to relax on different levels. The terrace on the roof offers a magnificent view of Psiloritis (the highest mountain in Crete), as well as the surrounding mountain massifs, in the distance you can see the white mountains and on clear days the sea. Olive groves as far as the eye can see!
Nice neighbours make a lot of things easier in the new surroundings (if you want!)
The beaches of Kalamaki, Matala and the beautiful Komos Beach are 20-25 minutes away by car. All around in the mountains you will find many beautiful villages, breathtaking gorges and lonely bays. The archaeological sites of Phaistos and Agia Deka are also only 20 minutes away
The district town of Mires (Moires), with all the necessary facilities, such as supermarkets, greengrocers, doctors, pharmacies, hospital and every Saturday market, is 2km away, Sivas and Pitsidia with nice tavernas and cafes are 10-15 minutes away.
You have the whole house to yourself!
If you have no problem with a very loving (and watchful!) little dog, "Boubou" will be happy to be your guest! That's why we can't accept pets in our house
In the "Apothiki" (storage room) you will find another fridge, a washing machine and firewood (by arrangement).
As of April 2017, our beautiful pool is finally ready, not for jumping and big swimming, but otherwise a paradise! We are very happy about it and find it a great addition to the property! Pool depth is only 1.00 m!!!
We will do our best to answer any request immediately!
Questions, wishes such as rental cars, flight connections, etc. can be sent to us with pleasure! A rental car can be provided for the entire time from/to the airport.
If you need help or tips on site, just ask our neighbours.
You can park your rental car on the street below the house, and drive right up to the front door to unload and load it.

Location and surroundings of object
Very beautiful view over the Messara and the surrounding mountains with the highest mountain of Crete, the Psiloritis.
The house is in the middle of the village, near the beautiful little church. Nevertheless, due to the completely enclosed courtyard, you also have your peace and privacy. Peri is a small village on a hill above the fertile Messara plain with nice helpful inhabitants without any tourism. One is immersed in Greek life.

From April 2017, our small pool will finally be in operation again for the summer months!!! We think that this will definitely be an enrichment for our house. We have to increase the prices a little bit in this period, because the maintenance is very expensive.

Place of longing
Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful holiday homes I know! Lovingly designed and furnished, with a private courtyard and small pool in a quiet mountain village. Easily accessible, a rental car is required. Hikes, beaches, and attractions are easily reachable. Tip: pack enough mosquito repellent, at least during our travel time, it was advisable. A place to truly relax – we highly recommend it.

It was dreamlike
We were there for a fortnight,

The hospitality in the village was really great

Perfect family home away from the tourist crowds
Five of us spent 1 week in the well-kept and individual old house. The sheltered courtyard with a refreshing small pool and a terrace with a great view absolutely tempted us to stay. Excursions to beautiful beaches about 20 minutes away were nevertheless tempting. A trip to the archaeological museum in Heraklion was also no problem. The charming neighbour Danai cooked wonderfully for us - visits to her chickens, dog and cat were a daily must for our grandchild. Life was wonderfully slow in the small village - we would have loved to stay longer.

Everything our hearts have desired
A beautiful, traditional house... lovingly furnished, simply an oasis for rest and relaxation. We have taken Danai, the dear neighbor who is so hospitable, and Boubou, the little black dog who felt so comfortable in the house and with us, to our hearts. Away from beach tourism...
... and yet near the sea, this beautiful village house, lovingly renovated with all its details - inside and out, is an oasis of peace and rural slowness. If you don't already take off your watch on the first day, you can forget the often hectic and fast-paced city life for a while in Peri and live in the rhythm of a small Cretan village. Of course, this also includes the shepherd walking with his sheep through the village, the priest celebrating the Greek Orthodox morning mass, or the village dogs fighting over territory at night. And above everything, the owl watches - and the little dog Boubou, who was always a welcome guest to us. Peri serves as a starting point for walks through the olive groves from the house, and it is also quick by car to go hiking in the mountains or to go shopping in town. The nearby town of Mires offers a lot of lively activity, not only during the Saturday market. A big thank you to Carolyn and Thomas, who with their detailed descriptions and tips did not promise too much and always have a helpful contact person on site with the friendly neighborhood.

If you love tranquility...
... then you are in the right place!
Kokkino Spiti is a wonderful place for simply doing nothing, relaxing, and unwinding! Away from mass tourism, you will find a place you will want to come back to.
A house that is clean and truly lovingly furnished and has everything you need. The house and yard offer plenty of space. The surroundings offer opportunities for many solitary walks and wonderful views. By car, it is not far to the beaches, archaeological sites, and starting points for longer hikes. For shopping, you can find everything you need in nearby Mires. With Carolyn and Thomas, we had good contact and assistance with planning and organization. Thanks to them for the many good tips!
Conclusion: Everything was as described in the offer. Quiet, beautiful property, lovely surroundings, nice neighbors, kind hosts – we felt very comfortable and will come back! Several times Mister Castro da Rosa tried to move the microwave oven to another point in the room’s low room, following instructions from his wife, who was obviously considering a new interior decoration of the room"

Fantastic holiday like in paradise
We spent relaxing and unforgettable days in this beautiful property. Both the exterior and interior are designed with a lot of love and remarkable taste. With a rental car, everything was possible: swimming at various beaches, visiting ancient sites, mountain tours...
