The house was lovingly restored by us from 2008-2012, without sacrificing modern comforts. There are three separate bedrooms (two with large double beds, one with a single bed), as well as 2 sleeping places in the fireplace room, directly in front of the fireplace. The large, well-equipped kitchen with dining area inside as well as outside offers cooking enthusiasts, who like to get their fresh vegetables from the Saturday market in Mires and the best meat from butchers in Pombia and Sivas, everything needed for cooking and baking.
The enclosed courtyard offers peace and many places to relax on different levels. The terrace on the roof offers a magnificent view of the Psiloritis (the highest mountain in Crete), as well as the surrounding mountain ranges; in the distance you can see the White Mountains and, on clear days, the sea. Olive groves as far as the eye can see!
Nice neighbors make many things easier in the new surroundings (if you want! ).
It takes 20-25 minutes by car to reach the beaches of Kalamaki, Matala, and the beautiful Komos Beach. All around in the mountains there are many beautiful villages, breathtaking gorges, and secluded bays. The archaeological sites of Phaistos and Agia Deka are also only 20 minutes away.
The district town of Mires (Moires), with all necessary facilities such as supermarkets, greengrocers, doctors, pharmacies, hospital, and a market every Saturday, is 2 km away. Sivas and Pitsidia, with lovely tavernas and cafés, can be reached in 10-15 minutes.
You have the whole house to yourself! In the "Apothiki" (storage room) you will find another refrigerator, a washing machine, and firewood (upon request).
Since April 2017, our beautiful pool has finally been completed—not for jumping or serious swimming, but otherwise a paradise! We are very happy about it and consider it a great addition to the property! Pool depth is only 1.00 m!!!

Questions, requests such as rental cars, flight connections, etc. can gladly be brought to our attention! A rental car can be made available to you for the entire period from/to the airport.
If you need help or tips on site, just ask our neighbors.
You can park the rental car on the street below the house; for loading and unloading you can drive directly up to the front door.

Very beautiful view over the Messara and the surrounding mountains with the highest mountain of Crete, the Psiloritis.
The house is in the middle of the village, near the beautiful little church. Nevertheless, due to the completely enclosed courtyard, you also have your peace and privacy. Peri is a small village on a hill above the fertile Messara plain with nice helpful inhabitants without any tourism. One is immersed in Greek life.

Place of longing
Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful holiday homes I know! Lovingly designed and furnished, with a private courtyard and small pool in a quiet mountain village. Easily accessible, a rental car is required. Hikes, beaches, and attractions are easily reachable. Tip: pack enough mosquito repellent, at least during our travel time, it was advisable. A place to truly relax – we highly recommend it.

It was dreamlike
We were there for a fortnight,
And it was mega fantastic. We already want to go back. This house is a dream and you think time stands still
The hospitality in the village was really great

Perfect family home away from the tourist crowds
Five of us spent 1 week in the well-kept and individual old house. The sheltered courtyard with a refreshing small pool and a terrace with a great view absolutely tempted us to stay. Excursions to beautiful beaches about 20 minutes away were nevertheless tempting. A trip to the archaeological museum in Heraklion was also no problem. The charming neighbour Danai cooked wonderfully for us - visits to her chickens, dog and cat were a daily must for our grandchild. Life was wonderfully slow in the small village - we would have loved to stay longer.

Everything our hearts have desired
A beautiful, traditional house... lovingly furnished, simply an oasis for rest and relaxation. We have taken Danai, the dear neighbor who is so hospitable, and Boubou, the little black dog who felt so comfortable in the house and with us, to our hearts.
