We are already repeat offenders and mega happy that we were even allowed to stay here for 2 weeks this year. You really can't spend a more relaxed holiday - everything you need is here and even the second time there were lots of new things to discover in the area

Sweden dream

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this little paradise. Not even the bad weather could spoil our mood. A perfectly equipped house, a super terrace and the lake right outside the front door. We could fish from the jetty, browse through the crime fiction library or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Perfect to forget the stress of everyday life.

Family holiday in summer

We stayed at Haus am See in July 2019. The house is as described in the photos - very cosy and we wanted for nothing. The kitchen is well equipped, a dream for self-catering.
You don't hear anything from the 4-5 other houses around the lake. It is absolutely quiet.
We made many great trips - the Hitzer family had some great tips - especially the archipelago is definitely worth a detour!

The only thing that really bothered us was the access to the lake or into the water. There is only one place where there are no reeds, but the bottom is very muddy and not nice to go in. It really lacks a footbridge !!! We were there with 3 children, 15,12 and 6 years old, who did not enjoy frolicking or swimming in the water. So we were content to fish with the boat and to swim we went to other lakes or to the sea.

Sweden-Idyll

We had a super relaxing week in the idyllic house by the lake. A perfect place to unwind. From the barbecue area, to the house's own boat, to the washing machine, everything is available.
Around the house you can see (with a bit of luck/patience/skill) beavers, capercaillie, pike and moose. We will definitely be back :)

Very idyllically located house

We felt very comfortable in the stylishly located cottage by the lake, the location is beautiful. Swimming in the lake, going out with the rowing boat, grilling bread on a stick and enjoying the peace and quiet. There are many destinations in the area that are worth a visit. Came back deeply relaxed :-)

House on its "own" lake

The lovingly renovated and fully furnished house is so secluded and private on the approximately 1 km long lake that one almost has the impression that the lake belongs solely to oneself, although there are still about 10 other cottages scattered around the lake.
We enjoyed our time very much. Waking up with a view of the lake, having breakfast in the middle of nature on the huge terrace, swimming, shopping, and dining in the nearby town. Everything was perfect.

A great vacation in a great cottage!

We had a wonderful two weeks of vacation with four people in this great little cottage! It is decorated with a lot of love and charm and has everything you need in the kitchen, etc. The lake offered refreshing swims and rowing, and the trips to Glaskogen, the archipelago coast, or Oslo complemented the days at the house and rounded off the holiday nicely. The Hitzer family in Germany and Jarl on-site always helped us quickly when we had questions.

Traumhafte Zeit

We spent some wonderful, relaxing days in the small cottage! On sunny days, we went swimming in the lake, and on rainy days, we snuggled up in front of the fireplace with a novel. It couldn't have been better! Pure peace and relaxation. There were some great excursions in the area, and we were lovingly provided with suggestions and tips, as well as a detailed handout with recommendations. As a couple, a great recommendation for quiet days together, but also certainly fantastic for families with children! Huge garden, cottage right by the lake, no direct neighbors, but quickly in the nearest village, great environment for hiking... An accommodation cleaner and more pleasant will not be found, an absolute heart recommendation!

Pure relaxation...

If not here, then where? In a dreamlike location, you will find the beautiful and incredibly cozy house where we felt completely comfortable in all weather conditions. Truly "Swedish" and lovingly decorated with all the extras. We even heard the beavers from the terrace late at night. During our daily boat explorations, we were constantly amazed by the beautiful nature. Our daughters felt almost like Ronja the Robber's Daughter. Fishing with dad, picking blueberries and lingonberries (which were abundant), playing, reading, listening to stories on the iPod, hiking, swimming... just being a family and relaxing. It was wonderfully restful and did us all a lot of good. We would love to come back and highly recommend the house!

Natur pur

The pictures and reviews were already fantastic, and when we arrived, it was even more beautiful than we imagined. The house is very tastefully furnished, and the view of the lake with reeds, boulders, and forest is phenomenal. We spent two weeks at the end of August/early September in Lysed and had the lake to ourselves, as school had already started in Sweden. The weather was still summery warm, so some of us even went for a swim in the lake. Otherwise, we rowed a lot on the lake with the boat and collected chanterelles and porcini mushrooms in the forest. The hike in the nearby Glaskogen was scenically beautiful, but we saw beavers, moose, deer, and many colorful dragonflies right from the house. For the evenings by the crackling fireplace, there are many games, or - as a contrast to the idyllic world of summer in Sweden - you can also read a Swedish crime novel. Our two daughters and we were enchanted by the beautiful house and would love to come back. Many thanks also to the Hitzer family for the extensive information beforehand and the prompt responses to our questions on site.

a dream house...

...that we would most like to pack up and take back to Germany, including the lake. The house is wonderfully situated slightly elevated directly by the lake. The furnishings are simple yet complete and very tastefully done. We really enjoyed our time there. Any questions were promptly responded to by the very nice landlords. There were very few blueberries and mosquitoes this year, but there were beautiful chanterelle mushrooms.

Idyllic summer at the lake

During our tour of Scandinavia, we spent a week in this stylishly renovated summer house right by the small lake and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We especially liked the fully glazed porch where the bedroom is located, allowing you to wake up with a view of the often mist-covered lake in the morning. The living room features a very charming Swedish stove that provides adequate warmth on cold evenings. The house itself is very well equipped, on the sun terrace you can relax wonderfully on warm days, the house's own rowboat invites you to small boat trips. The surrounding area offers countless activities, we especially enjoyed the Glaskogen, a nature reserve that can be reached in just under an hour and where you can take extensive hiking and canoe tours. A visit to the harness racing track in Arjäng is worth it, where races take place every Friday evening. All excursion tips and all information about the house can also be found in the documents provided by the Hitzer family before the start of the trip. Booking and handling were completely uncomplicated, and the key handover at the house went smoothly. The only wish we would still have is for a small jetty at the lakeshore to anchor the boat and to make swimming in the slightly muddy shore area easier.

Our most beautiful family vacation

We have grown fond of the little house by the lake. The children could build their own secret corners by the shallow entrances to the lake. We read a lot and enjoyed the peace. The 70 sqm are very nicely divided. So that everyone could be for themselves and yet all together. For our family, it was an unforgettable holiday. The housekeeper was a very lovable and relaxed Swede.

Beautiful and lovely.

We spontaneously decided to go away at the beginning of October (two weeks before). Fortunately, this was no problem for the Hitzer family. The contact with them was very friendly and uncomplicated. Jarl, a very warm older gentleman who takes care of the house and handles the key handover, was incredibly nice as well. Due to stupid circumstances, we arrived much later than agreed, but he still brought us the keys and even left his flashlight so we could see a little something on the property in the darkness upon our arrival. The next morning, he came back to show us everything. The cottage and its location are fantastic! Exactly as described. It is very quiet, the property is overgrown, and we felt as if there were no other people - although a few other houses are in sight. When you get in the car, you are at the nearest supermarket within a few minutes. You can feel in every corner how much dedication has been put into it. We felt right at home. It is very well-maintained, clean, and really well-equipped; the kitchen has everything you need, we didn't miss anything at all. On the first day, we had the opportunity to have breakfast on the veranda in sweaters with a view of the lake from the living room. Then came the first frost - beautiful! In the morning, mist hung over the lake, which we could see floating from bed. In the afternoon, the weather was so good that we had the opportunity to row the house's own boat across the lake, feel the sun on our heads, and explore the surrounding foliage. Every evening, we sat comfortably in front of the Swedish stove after getting firewood from the small cabin outside. After booking, we received directions, information about the house, and a long list of activities and excursion destinations around Årjäng - we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area.

The house is very charmingly furnished and has everything you need. The view of the lake is beautiful. It is quietly located, yet not too remote. Shopping possibilities nearby. Also a great starting point for various excursions. We will definitely not be there for the last time.

Everything the heart desires ....

In the heart of Värmland, a dream for families

The typical Swedish house by the lake is lovingly and very stylishly furnished. Everything is there that the heart desires. The kitchen is fully equipped. From really sharp knives, pots, dishes, cutlery, and a dishwasher, everything is available in sufficient quantity. The view upon waking up from the bed to the lake is indescribably beautiful. The lake is manageable and safe for children who can swim. The area by the house offers creative opportunities for exploring, swinging, and splashing for children and adults. Taking the house's own boat to the small island is relaxing and feels like Astrid Lindgren. Children can let off steam in the garden. There are plenty of play options. Not far from the house, there are opportunities to collect mushrooms and blueberries and explore nature. The stay in this beautiful nature and the truly perfect little house has convinced us indecisive Sweden enthusiasts to become convinced Sweden lovers.

Bullerbü by the lake!

It has been a few days since we were in Lysed, but the memory is still fresh. A beautifully lovingly furnished and well-kept little house, very Swedish with a sensitively renovated old kitchen, but with all the modern technology you need. My favorite spot is the old kitchen table with a view of the lake, which is only surpassed by the terrace in nice weather. Reading, swimming, picking berries, campfires, boating - the days were wonderful, gladly again. The area around Arjäng is extremely idyllic, just like you would dream of Sweden!

Beautiful summer vacation opportunity!

The house is beautifully located by the lake, quiet, with a fantastic view both from the terrace and from the rooms in the house. We really liked the decor, everything was there that you need for living, cooking, relaxing, etc. It is not too secluded, shops and restaurants are quickly accessible by car.

Zwei Wochen in der schwedischen Idylle

After we decided to go to Sweden for our two-week vacation, there were initially a few holiday homes to choose from. The small cottage, located directly by the lake, painted in typical Swedish red, immediately convinced us with its charm and cozy atmosphere. Our expectations were not disappointed at all, quite the opposite... The arrival was uncomplicated, the friendly caretaker Jarl welcomed us upon our arrival, handed over the keys, and immediately gave us a short tour of the house to show us everything. He was available on-site and Mrs. Hitzer was available by phone for any questions. The holiday home is beautifully located by a small lake and very cozy and lovingly furnished. Despite its manageable size, it was completely sufficient for the five of us, as we spent a lot of time outside in the beautiful weather. With the small rowboat, we often took short trips on the lake and also caught the occasional pike, which we then prepared for dinner on the Weber grill. Even in bad weather, we passed the time in the fully equipped kitchen by baking Swedish treats (such as cinnamon rolls) and playing games. "Bun Bullets" (Swedish cinnamon buns) or by reading one of the numerous Scandinavian crime novels from the in-house library by the fireplace. The optimal location of the holiday home also invites you to numerous excursions. One weekend we spent in Oslo (about 2 hours away by car) and drove to the sea one day. In the nearest town of Arjang, there are numerous shopping options, free WIFI, and some restaurants. In summary, we had a very relaxing holiday in the middle of the Swedish idyllic setting, and I can highly recommend it to everyone.

Great holiday cottage for any weather!

A great summer house, nicely renovated, clean, with a spacious kitchen and equipment! Despite rainy weather, we felt very comfortable in the house all week. The German crime shows and games were interesting for us Swiss. Unfortunately, we could only make limited use of the large terrace, garden, lake, and boat. We gladly recommend the holiday home!
