Description
Our lovingly renovated cabin is located 4 km south of Arjäng, Värmland, right on Lysedstjärnet. It's only a few meters to the water. From the large wooden deck, you can enjoy the magnificent view over the lake and, with a bit of luck, even watch the beaver swimming.
On the spacious property, there are a main building and an annex, both in typical Swedish style. Both buildings have electricity as well as running hot water and are heated. The residence is thus well usable from April to October.
In the main house, there are
• the lovingly restored, well-equipped kitchen with electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator (incl. freezer compartment), coffee maker, and dining area,
• the cozy living room with a sofa, armchairs, stereo system, and numerous books,
• two bedrooms with double beds,
• a children's room with a bunk bed,
• and a bathroom with a bathtub, separate shower, sink, and toilet. • freezer compartment), ALDI coffee capsule machine and seating for up to 4 people,
• the spacious living-dining area with a collection of board games, crime novel library, and a Swedish stove for cozy evenings (- we consciously decided against having a TV ;-),
• the bathroom renovated in 2016 with rain shower, toilet, and underfloor heating,
• a bedroom with a double bed and a fantastic lake view,
• a bedroom with 2 single beds, and
• the entrance room with a daybed. In the outbuilding there is
• a large bathroom with shower and toilet and
• a sort of workshop/storage room with a washing machine and dryer.
At the shallow, child-friendly swimming spot below the property lies a rowboat, with which you can row to the small rocky island in the lake. Or you can take the plunge from our new jetty into the water.
Lysedstjärnet is known for its abundance of fish. As residents of our house, you have the opportunity to fish here without a "fiskekort" (fishing permit). But it's only 500 meters through nature to the 50 km long Västra Silen. At the Sommarvik campsite, which is located directly on the Västra Silen, fishing equipment or a canoe can be rented if needed.
The property offers ample space for outdoor games such as badminton, soccer, or Swedish chess. A hand-built wooden horse with a real saddle and a swing over the water await the children. In the garden, depending on the season, you will find raspberries, blackberries, and currants; in the surrounding forests, there are blueberries and mushrooms. And occasionally, a moose comes by and steals the apples that were actually meant for the "äppelpaj".
Arrival and departure day is Saturday or by arrangement. The cottage must be cleaned by the tenants before departure.

Location and surroundings of object
Our stuga is located on a gravel road - right by the lake
There are still a few cottages in the area and the old railway tracks where you can ride the trolley between Årjäng and Bengtsfors, but you feel like you are all alone there
It is 4 km to Årjäng. This small town offers various shopping facilities (2 well-stocked supermarkets that are also open on Sundays, Systembolaget, souvenir and home furnishing shops ...), pharmacy, indoor swimming pool, restaurants and cafés, with free internet access. Cultural events such as the annual Allsköns Music Festival in the summer provide first-class variety. And at one of Sweden's most beautiful harness racing tracks, the whole family can experience the race up close during a picnic.
It's also not far to Glaskogen: The nature reserve lies between the municipalities of Arvika, Eda, Säffle and Årjäng. It is hectares in size and includes the two large lakes Stora Gla and Övre Gla, numerous smaller lakes and the surrounding forests. The area is ideal for hiking and canoeing. In Lenungshammar (approx. 30 km) there is an information centre with an attached camping site and canoe and mountain bike rental.

Cancellation terms:
Here is the translation to English: In the event of a cancellation by the tenant, the landlord will, of course, make every effort to rent out the holiday home to someone else. If this is not successful, the tenant shall pay 50% of the booking amount for cancellations made between 30 and 60 days before arrival. For cancellations made after this period, 100% of the rental price is due. Accordingly, the landlord recommends that the tenant take out travel insurance specifically tailored to holiday home renters, including trip cancellation coverage.

House for Relaxation
A very lovingly furnished little house, very nice landlords who are very accommodating and answered all my questions very quickly and precisely.
I was most taken with the beautiful selection of crime novels by the Norwegian author Jo Nesbø; now I have one more favorite author. All in all, a very nice house in a very beautiful setting with a lot of peace, nature, and a dreamy lake panorama for relaxing and unwinding. I will come back.
Many thanks to the Hitzer family.

Dreamy Swedish experience
We had a wonderful time in this holiday home: red wooden house with white windows, direct view of the lake and access to the lake, boat, bathing jetty, barbecue facilities, great nature! This is exactly what we hoped for and found on our tour of Sweden! A great location, very well-equipped house, very nice landlords. On the property, you can relax and the surroundings offer a variety of excursion possibilities. Shopping facilities nearby.

Mr. A. Hitzer
We live in Munich with our two daughters. What we have always liked about Sweden is that you can enjoy the beautiful nature almost alone: no overcrowded beaches, no crowded car parks, etc. We fell in love with our summer house right away because of its fantastic location directly on the lake Little by little, we designed the cottage according to our ideas: in 2014, the original 1950s kitchen was restored, in spring 2016, the master bedroom with a view of the lake was added, and the bathroom in the main house was renovated and equipped with a shower. This was previously only available in the outbuilding. In addition, almost all the windows in the main house were replaced. Our aim was always to preserve the charm of our old cottage without having to forego modern comforts.

«Charming cottage directly on the lake» achieves a holiday rating of 5 (rating scale: 1 to 5) at 28 submitted reviews.
Vielen lieben Dank an Familie Hitzer.
Tolle Tipps vom Vermieter was die Freizeitaktivitäten betrifft.
