Description

The quiet and idyllic location of the holiday home as well as the cosy interior with fireplace guarantee you an unforgettable holiday stay in Saxon Switzerland.
The holiday home has a sleeping loft with a double bed and 2 single beds.
On the ground floor there is a bedroom with 1 single bed .
The modernly furnished holiday home has a living area with open kitchen and spacious dining area.
The bathroom, also on the ground floor, has electric underfloor heating and a towel dryer.
For the cold season, all rooms can be heated by electric radiators in addition to the cosy wood-burning stove.
All windows have roller shutters.
The kitchen is equipped with a 4 plate ceramic hob, fridge and dishwasher.
When the weather is nice, you can sunbathe on the terrace and enjoy the view of the fortress, the Pfaffenstein and the Elbe valley.

Location and surroundings of object

Our holiday home is situated in a quiet and idyllic location on the Elbe between the Königstein Fortress and the Lilienstein.
On the terrace belonging to the holiday home, you can enjoy the sun and the view of the Elbe and Königstein Fortress. The Elbe cycle path, which passes the house in the immediate vicinity, allows active holidaymakers to go on beautiful hikes and bike tours directly from here.
The holiday home was completely renovated in 2014. The holiday home is located on the opposite side of the Elbe from the house. Part of Saxon Switzerland, such as Rathen with the Bastei and Felsenbühne, Königstein Fortress, Lilienstein and Pfaffenstein, can be accessed directly from the holiday home through wonderful hikes. The nearby S-Bahn connection also allows visits to Dresden, Pirna, Weesenstein Castle or Bad Schandau, where there is also an adventure pool (Toskanatherme) for rainy days, without the need for a car.
Königstein is centrally located in the romantic mountain world of Saxon Switzerland (also known as the Elbe Sandstone Mountains). The Königstein with its well-known fortress, the imposing Lilienstein and the Pfaffenstein with the famous Barbarine rock rise up around the town

The Advent weeks with a visit to the ancient Christmas market at the fortress or a Christmas mead shift in the Berggießhübel mine are also a wonderful experience.

Beautiful house in a fantastic location

The house is well equipped and especially the sleeping area upstairs is very cozy. The location is particularly convincing: directly on the Elbe with the best view of Königstein, very close to the ferry pier and therefore also to the train connection. Several hiking destinations are within walking distance, otherwise everything is perfect by bike or S-Bahn.
Sheep right next door :)
The contact with the landlord family was very pleasant.

Ferienhaus Dunsch

We spent two great weeks of vacation in this very lovingly furnished holiday home. Everything you need is available. Ideal as a starting point for hikes and bike tours. The landlords are very nice and accommodating. The view from the terrace of Königstein Fortress is breathtakingly beautiful. We highly recommend this house.

Simply beautiful!

We, 2 adults, 2 children, spent a wonderful week in this great house. Everything is available, from towels, hairdryer, deodorant, shower gel, complete kitchen equipment, to toys for children. Lovingly decorated with attention to detail, you immediately feel at home. Breakfast on the terrace with a great view of the Elbe and the fortress or evenings by the fireplace. Optimal connection to public transport. Whether by S-Bahn, bus, or hiking bus, you can get anywhere, and the car can stay put. Shopping options are also available on site.
We will definitely come back.
Simply a wonderful place. . . . !

Beautiful holiday home with a great starting location

We had a fantastic holiday in this great holiday home. From here, there are many options to spend your vacation. You can hike, cycle (the Elbe Cycle Path passes right by the house), explore various cities like Pirna, Bad Schandau, and of course Dresden, all easily accessible by S-Bahn. We didn't move our car the entire vacation. On our only rainy day (otherwise, we had absolutely great weather), we spent a lovely day at the beautiful Toscana Therme in Bad Schandau. And let's not forget, the landlords are very, very nice people. So we will definitely come back there again.

Ein wunderschönes kleines Häuschen

Our small family (2 adults, 1 child) spent a wonderful short holiday in this little cottage. The interior looks new and is completely sufficient. It has everything you need! Since the temperatures didn't work for us, we couldn't use the sun terrace, but used the stove even more. The landlords were very friendly, helpful, and no question was too much for them. We will definitely come back, as there is simply so much to see and you can't go wrong with this house.

A fantastic holiday in a very, very beautiful holiday home.

The holiday home of the Dunsch family is in an excellent condition, everything is new, well-maintained, and very clean. The location of the holiday home was perfect for our two boys (7 and 10 years old) with the nearby Elbe cycle path. Just a few meters away, they could go on tours with their inline skates and longboards. We rarely needed the car. We started many hikes directly from the house. We often took the nearby ferry to Königstein and from there took the train one or two stations to the next hike. Going to Dresden by train was also great. The canoe trips on the Elbe, a bike tour along the Elbe, and the many hikes in the rocky landscape were fantastic. Even the boys had a lot of fun hiking. Additionally, we had great weather the whole time. We will definitely come back again and next time bring our own bikes. Thank you to the Dunsch family for the wonderful time in Austria.
