Location and surroundings of object
The house is centrally located at the foot of the Schlossberg, close to the historic old town with its castle complex, town hall, town church and brewery museum. The resort town of Homberg/Ohm lies on the north-eastern foothills of the Vogelberg. It has about 3000 inhabitants.
In the village you will find supermarkets, pharmacies, doctors and restaurants
The A5 Homberg/Ohm motorway exit is only 8 km away.
The small town offers numerous recreational opportunities. For example, there is a beautiful, modern outdoor swimming pool and the very popular forest playground "Buchholzbrücke" for children.
In the wooded surroundings, hikers and other nature lovers get their money's worth. For example, the "Legendary Schächerbachtour" has been awarded a premium hiking trail. But there is also a circular hiking trail right on the doorstep around the historic castle complex with a fantastic view of the Ohm valley, the sublime little town of Amöneburg and the Lahn mountains.

You will find further excursion possibilities in the immediate vicinity, such as the well-known half-timbered town of Alsfeld or the historic university town of Marburg an der Lahn.
Or visit the Hoherodskopf, the second highest mountain in the Vogelsberg. There, in the Hoher Vogelsberg Nature Park, you can learn about the local flora and fauna or about the geology of the extinct volcano. You can also walk 10 to 12 metres above the treetops on the "floating treetop path", visit the climbing forest or the summer toboggan run. Winter sports are also possible there.
Culturally, Homberg offers the art and culture week "Ohm sweet Ohm" every summer. In Marburg (approx. 20 min), theatres, music pubs, cabarets and museums await your visit.
Not quite around the corner - but very worthwhile - is a visit to the Bad Hersfeld Festival in the Abbey Ruins (approx. 60min)

Actually too big, but ...
What we needed was accommodation for two nights, right in Homberg (Ohm). In the process, we came across this residence. Actually much too large for two people, but the location was decisive. The apartment is interesting, I think it's an old building that has been converted into a vacation rental, and that with love for the old building. The upper bathroom has obviously been newly renovated... I could go on like this for a long time.
A conclusion: plenty of space, perfect amenities, cleanliness just as perfect. Hostess extremely friendly . . . full score!

Very beautiful and cozy holiday home
We spent Christmas here with five adults and a small dog. We really enjoyed it and felt very comfortable. The rooms are all nicely furnished and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. We also benefited from the two bathrooms and the two living rooms. We especially liked the fireplace with wood fire. The little place with its many half-timbered houses and alleys also pleased us, it's just a few minutes' walk to the center from the house.
The landlord was very friendly and everything went smoothly.
We want to come back.

Super!
We liked the holiday home very much. The kitchen is fully equipped, the mattresses are comfortable, there is unexpectedly much space. We especially liked the 2 balconies because we could decide where to sit depending on the position of the sun. We could also have used a fenced garden. The house is in a very quiet side street, so we slept very well
We were satisfied all around, even the contact with the landlady and the neighbours was nice.

Very nice holiday home
After looking for a holiday home in the Vogelberg district for a while, we came across this holiday home. The booking was uncomplicated, the contact with the landlord very pleasant.
When we arrived at the house, we were overwhelmed: spacious rooms, complete equipment, even the garage could be used
We enjoyed the days very much and will definitely come back.
