Description
We rent 6 log cabins in our lodge for 2 persons each (and an extra bed for 1 child possible + 15/night).
Each house stands separately with plenty of space between them and is surrounded by trees and bushes for maximum privacy.
The houses are untreated on the inside (solid wood log house), orthopaedic mattresses guarantee a good night's sleep, because what is the most beautiful holiday worth if you sleep badly...
In our houses you will find everything you need, bedding, towels, fully equipped kitchen, etc.

The lodge is located in northeastern Nova Scotia in Cape Breton.
Day trips into nature:

and other animals.

Janvrins Island is attached to Isle Madame where there is also the nearest shopping (Arichat). A large supermarket is 35 minutes drive away.
Directly on Janvrins Island there are wonderful walking opportunities, for example we have a reef right on our "doorstep" where a colony of about 60 seals live.
The Canadians are very hospitable and open-minded and are happy to welcome visitors.
Local artists offer very nice souvenirs made of different materials.

Cancellation terms:
- You will be refunded half of the booking amount minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 7 days before the planned check-in until 12 o’clock midday CET (Central European time). For cancellations which are made less than 7 days before check-in there will be no refund.

OWN DIVING BASE
We offer guided diving and snorkelling trips in the waters around Janvrin's Island.
There are several wrecks here, the wreck of the Arrow, which has become a beautiful underwater biotope, with beautiful growth and in autumn sometimes very large lobsters (up to 1m).
You will need your diving licence, diving medical certificate and preferably a dry suit that you can cope with (otherwise 7 mm semi-dry neoprene). Rental equipment is available, but please arrange in advance.
The water in Chedabucto Bay has little current and is also suitable for beginners.
We organise and conduct individual bivouac tours, which are small expeditions to islands and beautiful beaches where we spend one or two nights in a tent. All equipment is provided by us.
Individual excursion wishes of our guests can also be made possible. Tell us your ideas and we will make it possible
We have our own boat rental (canoes/ kayaks/ SUP boards and a small aluminium boat with outboard motor) and also offer charter with our large boat (fixed keel inflatable 7.5 m - 150 hp). Our boat is DOT / Coast Guard inspected and certified, the skipper has a Canadian captain's licence.

5 months of pure nature ...
Thank you again for the summer of 2019. My wife and I spent the summer in Nova Scotia.
We were "permanent tenants" and stayed at the Vipilodge for five months.
From here we explored and experienced all of Nova Scotia.
We had a lot of fun with the other guests, great evenings around the campfire, some sundowner tours and received many good tips from Ingo Vollmer
5 stars for everything - we will see you again - no question !

Wonderfully recovered !
We stayed at Vipilodge in June 2017 and had a wonderful rest. The log cabins are quiet and close to nature. They are also very nicely designed and furnished. In the morning you can only hear the birds and now and then the chipmunks. We also had a view of the sea from our house. The location could not have been better. Maria and Ingo are very nice and helpful hosts. They gave us lots of tips for exploring Cap Breton and were always approachable. The dives with Ingo on the wreck of the Arrow were also a great experience. In any case, the Vipilodge is highly recommendable. We will be happy to come back.

A paradise for those seeking peace and relaxation
If you are looking for peace and seclusion and want to experience nature up close, this is the place for you. We stayed at Vipi Lodge for the first time in September 2002 and had a great diving holiday and took away lots of unforgettable impressions of Cape Breton. In July 2016 it worked out again. We spent a good 3 weeks here, this time with our son (12 years old). The beautiful dive sites were easy to reach by boat. Ingo took care of everything again, so we had very relaxed and unforgettable dives. The Arrow wreck is an absolute highlight, as are the beautiful dive spots along the coast, where you can marvel at 80-year-old lobsters, among other things. The kelb shines golden in the light. Fantastically beautiful. While we were underwater, Ingo took care of our son, who was on board but does not dive. He never got bored on board. We borrowed canoes from Ingo and Maria and went on beautiful tours along the coast. In the distance we could see and hear the seals. A real experience. The log cabins are spread out on the grounds so that you have enough privacy and can enjoy it. We often sat on the veranda after an eventful day and let the day end comfortably. We went on beautiful hiking tours in the region, met lovely Canadians and relaxed like in no other holiday before. Our hosts Ingo & Maria played a major part in this. They provided us with information about the region, leisure activities etc.. We sat on the beach with other nice guests, chatted and had a barbecue. A successful holiday and absolutely recommendable. And those who would like to send a WhatApp or email to their friends and family from time to time have the possibility to do so in the main house. You can't find it better anywhere else.

Rarely so well recovered!
We have already spent several wonderful holidays here, and now the VIPI Lodge is our absolute happy place! Island and end-of-the-road feeling and super nice hosts, plus we can cycle here until we drop, and the sea is always in sight! We can launch our kayaks anywhere on the island, we have seen seals and a few whales. It's just great. Many thanks to Maria, who always does more for us than she actually has to. We will definitely be back!!!!!

We are a small resort for a maximum of 16 guests. We attach great importance to privacy (our guest cottages are built with plenty of space to each other), take care of everything ourselves and are also constantly on site to be there for our guests. Here you can relax completely and/or do a variety of outdoor activities. We have kayaking and canoeing, mountain bikes, diving and snorkelling (own diving centre), SUP's, camping equipment (if you want to camp for a night) and a sauna in the middle of the forest where you can end the day. Directly on the beach is our beach pavilion where you can sit in a sheltered spot and barbecue, or in bad weather our "clubhouse" is available. We are also happy to accommodate special requests. Just give us a call. We look forward to welcoming you as our guest!
