Welcome to our charming holiday home "Au Bout du Monde" in the small hamlet of Brestilhac near Chaspinhac, in the heart of the unspoiled countryside of Haute-Loire in Auvergne. The lovingly renovated natural stone house is located at the end of a quiet village street above the impressive Loire gorges – a special place for all who seek nature, tranquility, and authentic France.
The detached house combines traditional charm with pleasant living comfort. The granite stone walls, up to 1.5 meters thick, provide pleasant coolness in summer and a cozy atmosphere in winter. In front of the house, a fully fenced, blooming garden with a terrace invites you to relax, read, or enjoy meals together outdoors.
On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Upstairs, a bright living area with a high ceiling and access to the terrace awaits you. The house also has two bedrooms – one with a double bed (140 cm) and one with two single beds – as well as a bathroom and a separate WC.
Numerous marked hiking trails start directly from the holiday home, leading through the varied landscape of the Haute-Loire. The region is ideal for hikers, nature lovers, cyclists, and anyone who wants to escape everyday life. Many beautiful excursion destinations await you in the surrounding area:

Every Wednesday evening, a farmers' market with regional products takes place in nearby Chaspinhac. Our holiday home is perfect for couples, families, or friends who want to enjoy peace, nature, and the special atmosphere of the Auvergne. Here, time seems to pass more slowly – ideal for switching off, taking a deep breath, and recharging.
Final cleaning is included in the price. Bed linen and towel packages can be booked optionally. Electricity is included from June 1 to August 31; during the heating period, additional heating costs may apply.

Holiday home "Au Bout du Monde" is located in an absolutely quiet setting in the small hamlet of Brestilhac, which belongs to the municipality of Chaspinhac in the Haute-Loire in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The accommodation is situated at the end of a small village road, directly above the impressive Loire gorges – where the road ends and untouched nature begins. The surroundings are characterized by an original volcanic and hilly landscape, small stone-built villages, and wide views over the landscape of the Auvergne. From here, you can enjoy peace, nature, and a sense of seclusion without being completely cut off.
The nearest larger town is Le Puy-en-Velay, one of the most beautiful historic towns in France, which can be reached by car in about 15–20 minutes. There you will find shopping opportunities, restaurants, cafés, as well as numerous cultural sights, including the cathedral and the old town, both part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
The fortress of Polignac and the extraordinary rock formations of the Corboeuf gorges are also just a short drive away. Numerous hiking trails begin right at the house, leading through the varied nature of the Haute-Loire. The region is ideal for:

Pure relaxation
We were in this house for 14 days and felt very comfortable. The location in a small hamlet slows you down from the very first moment. In the surrounding area, we hiked a lot, experienced the Haute Loire with beautiful villages and paths, also explored the city of Le Puy, which is practically around the corner, and were thrilled. We and our dog happily returned to the gite for peace and coziness. Since the nearest restaurant was usually fully booked, we used the well-equipped kitchen on the ground floor. We had our SIM router with us, which allowed us to access the internet and German television. We can really recommend the gite for those seeking peace with a dog.

very quiet holiday home
We used the holiday home for a short stopover on our trip through France. The booking and communication with the owner was very uncomplicated and very accommodating. Everything was made possible so that we could move into the house at our desired time. We were given good directions and suggestions for things to do in the area. The house is very quiet. It is absolutely relaxing. It is well and lovingly equipped with everything and nothing stands in the way of a longer stay. The bright living room and the terrace are especially nice. We can highly recommend a stay here.

Pure nature and tranquillity
In the run-up to our booking, the landlady gave us very kind and detailed advice. On site, we found everything as described. The house is very well maintained, spacious and in top condition. With summer temperatures during the day, we were able to take wonderful walks in the unique volcanic landscape of the Auvergne or just relax on the beautiful sun terrace and enjoy the pure air and peace. At Easter it became a bit more crowded in this tiny hamlet; half of the houses are used exclusively as weekend homes or holiday residences. Le Puy-en-Velay is 25 minutes away by car. The medieval town has a lot of charm and especially the weekly market on Saturday is recommended for a stroll!
