Description
This is a small terraced house with 2 bedrooms in a quiet corner of Praia da Luz. It is close to the beach (2 minutes on foot). Recently renovated in January 2017.
On the first floor is the small, well-equipped kitchen and the living/dining room, which leads onto a terrace. From the terrace there is a lovely garden view and also some view of the cliffs by the beach.
On the ground floor there is 1 bathroom (bathtub) and the 2 bedrooms, both with two separate beds. One bedroom leads into the small garden, the other onto a small terrace. The house is comfortably and nicely furnished.
In February 2017, a new kitchen (+ dishwasher) and new toilet were renovated.
For the cold months, there is a wood-burning stove, an electric wall heater in the living-dining room, and an oil radiator in each bedroom.
There is satellite TV, a storage room with washing machine, also a parking space in front of the house. Wi-Fi.

Location and surroundings of object
Praia da Luz (Vila da Luz) is a now autonomous, former small fishing village. For travelers it is very popular, because everything is within walking distance: bank, post office, shops, bars & restaurants. Besides the main beach "Praia da Luz" there are a few isolated sandy bays at "Prainha", the sand Rock beach towards Burgau.
Interesting are the Roman sites of several former bathrooms. These are very close to the apartment.
All in all it is an ideal place to leave once really relax at the actually always sunny Algarve. And if it rains, go to play billiards or makes a "rain Clothing hike" along the bizarre rocky landscape.
Praia da Luz is a small quiet village, located just 6 km from Lagos. Luz is a former fishing village with many small well-kept houses, little skyscrapers and only one hotel on the outskirts. So the city is dominated by typical whitewashed houses with rich flowers.
On the palm-lined promenade you will find still more simple items as exclusive boutiques, and the local fishermen have not yet permitted to sell.
The infrastructure provides the supermarket a restaurant, bar and disco until the German doctor everything that makes the holiday enjoyable.
Nevertheless, the place is quiet and with its beautiful sandy beach ideal for families. Most apartments and houses are just 5 to 10 minutes from the beach. During the day you meet a "Bica" (espresso) or a small snack in the bar Lazuli or the Havana bar right on the beach promenade. Who is more to bustle or nightlife, it leads the evening in neighboring Lagos.
An interest there is a small Roman ruins and a historic wall of the Muslim period.
The village church "Senhora da Luz" was built in 1874: It has a beautiful altar 'talha dourada ", ie coated with gold leaf carvings.
Opposite the church is the former stronghold of the Fortaleza Luz, today the 'Restaurante Fortaleza "resides. It was built 400 years ago and sold in the 70's to an American couple.

Beach House again and again
A very cozy little house near the beach, with excellent amenities and very accommodating personal service! Quietly located and quickly at the beach and promenade.

Nice house in a great location
We felt very comfortable at Casa da Praia. The mid-terrace house is only 2-3 minutes walk from the beautiful beach Praia da Luz. It has everything a family of four needs for a two-week holiday; bed linen and towels were changed after a week and the entire house was super clean. The terrace is lovingly planted with southern flowers and you can see a bit of the sea from the balcony.
The German-speaking landlords were very friendly and gave us great tips for excursions.
Many thanks Piedade and Paulo. We had a great holiday with you.

Piedada and Paulo (landlord) are both reliable, courteous, and friendly. They speak German and are available and helpful at all times. The apartment is clean and nicely furnished. Dishes, pots, cutlery, bed linen, and hand and bath towels are tastefully coordinated. We will come back!

Great vacation rental

Holiday pleasure all along the line
Very relaxing vacation from beginning to end. The house is beautifully situated and within walking distance (2-3 minutes) to the sea. It was very clean and everything you could wish for was available. The landlady and her son were very friendly and attentive, always available, welcomed us with wine and water, and provided us with wood for the cozy fireplace. The town of Luz is cozy, everything you need is within walking distance. There is a beautiful boulevard and nice small shops, as well as several restaurants with terraces that were lively even in November. Except for a few heavy rain showers on two days, it was always sunny and warm at 22 degrees Celsius, so you could swim in the Atlantic and use the balcony for dining. A completely successful vacation - many thanks to Mrs. Pereira and her son Paulo.
