Our Black Forest-style guesthouse is located directly next to the organic farm. There are 3 holiday flats from 55 sqm - 130 sqm. They offer space for 2-6 people. On request, you can also rent the entire guesthouse in the Black Forest as a group (up to 15 people).
The holiday flats are completely newly furnished and all have a covered balcony.
The large holiday flat in the is barrier-free and therefore ideal for older guests and for wheelchair users. Barrier-free access to the flat is possible via the terrace.
In addition, two garages are available.

Welcome to the organic farm in the Sulzbachtal.
The Sulzbachtal is a small high valley (600-900m) in the protected landscape area of the Middle Black Forest.
The tranquillity and fresh mountain air in this fairytale setting will enchant you and make you forget the stress of everyday life. Experience this landscape on foot or by bike or relax and find time for yourself and your family. The municipality of Lauterbach is situated on the eastern edge of the Middle Black Forest, between 600 and 850 metres above sea level in the Lauterbachtal valley. The Lauterbach, a tributary of the Schiltach, flows through the village. The highest elevation in the municipality is the Mooswaldkopf.
The village has been a climatic health resort since 1884. Lauterbach also includes Sulzbach, a high valley consisting of scattered farms at an altitude of between 700 and 900 metres.

Our farm is a typical Black Forest single-roof farm (people and animals live under one roof). The year of construction is not known for sure, it is around 1700-1800. Until 60 years ago, the Black Forest farm still had a thatched roof.
Since 1985, we have managed our farm according to biologically dynamic guidelines and it therefore bears the "Demeter" seal of quality.
The main focus of our farming is on keeping Black Forest horses open to the countryside and on keeping "Hinterwald cows" as suckler animals. Both are typical Black Forest breeds that are particularly suited to the topography.

As a large family, we felt very comfortable at the Buchholz farm. Everyone could withdraw into their own area, but there was also enough space for joint activities. We especially liked the huge garden and the large terrace. For the children, the farm is a paradise. We will gladly come again.

Those looking for peace and relaxation are in the right place here, as the spacious holiday home is located right on the edge of the forest. Whether you are sitting outside on the cozy covered balconies or relaxing on the large terrace on the sun lounger. It is so quiet here that you can hear the blood rushing in your head after just a few minutes. The house is located right next to the Buchholz family farm and offers space for small and large families with a total of three holiday apartments. XXXL families can even rent the entire house if necessary. Up to two garage spaces are available upon request. The kitchens of the apartments are excellently equipped. Laundry can be washed in the basement for a protection fee. All apartments are very clean and specially furnished for allergy sufferers. For children, of course, the farm with the (tame) chickens, cats, rabbits, cows and horses is the main attraction. At the same time, various play equipment is provided, such as go-karts, a mobile table tennis table, playing molds, etc. The house and farm are connected to their own spring water supply. The constantly cool water is very soft and tastes excellent. Upon request, Mr. Buchholz offers a one-hour farm tour, during which he explains the current state of organic farming (the farm is Demeter certified) with a lot of expertise. Mrs. Buchholz takes care of the well-being of the guests as the soul of the house. Of course, you can also buy farm eggs. They are offered alongside various Black Forest specialties at a small self-service stand on the ground floor of the house. My personal favorite is the ground floor apartment, which with its 130 square meters creates a "country house feeling" and is highly recommended even when occupied by only two people. It is specially equipped for people with disabilities (including the bathroom with shower and toilet) and can be easily reached and accessed by wheelchair users thanks to the barrier-free access from the terrace through floor-to-ceiling panoramic sliding doors. On request, a special care bed can even be rented on site. Thanks to the large terrace, the associated sunbathing lawn, and the surrounding covered balcony, you can practically stay outside in any weather. High-quality Kettler loungers, tables, chairs, and a large awning as a sunshade leave nothing to be desired. In addition to the kitchen-living room (the dining table is designed for 6-8 people), there is an electric fireplace in the living room that contributes to coziness on long evenings. All holiday apartments are equipped with a flat-screen TV, stereo system, free Wi-Fi, and free telephone (Germany). Almost all windows offer a fantastic view of the Black Forest landscape. The surroundings are typical of the Black Forest. Steep inclines alternate with longer, level hiking trails. The nearest recommended inn (Gedächtnishaus) can be reached either on foot (the ascent and descent are sporty) or by car. For the tourist tax (Euro 1.50 per person/day), you will receive a coupon booklet with many discounts when visiting the surrounding attractions. In September, we will be spending our holiday with the Buchholz family for the eighth time (each time for three weeks) and have already booked dates for 2017.

Beautiful secluded holiday house
The isolated location was perfect for us. We could really let the children run around. Everything was prepared very nicely for our large group (14 people). Would definitely go there again.
