Description
The pension is situated in the Nord corner of the village, next to the gamekeeper's house. The direct position is GPS 49°09'"N, 14°43'"E. It is a classical boarding-house with courtyard and garden, slightly more than 6000 m 2. The house was built in 2012. The total capacity is 13 beds, with the possibility of 4 extra beds. Each room has own bathroom and WC. In the farmhouse is a new water distribution system from our own water-station with high quality of water. A joint kitchen makes possible cooking and is fully equipped. In the countryard, you can park your car in safety. There is also a fully-covered bike shelter. Location and surroundings of object
For GPS users it is enough to say 49°09'"N, 14°43'"E, but for the majority of visitors, it will be more friendly to say: Middle Europe, the Czech Republic, the South Bohemian Region in the Třeboň basin on the river Lužnice. From the first view, the village is mostly isolated from civilization (this creates some trouble - there is no public water source, gas or cable TV),but on the other hand,the calm and peaceful pleasure of being protected from the world, and the fact that the parents could let be their children run or bike without restraint (because all the roads are blind), more than compensates for these has its own grocery store,pub, the great florist shop of Mr. Láf and public library. Full service is available in the town Veselí nad Lužnicí 5 km from Vlkov. It takes only 15 minutes to reach it by bike. In Veselí, you can get a fishing pass for the 5 lakes and the rivers Lužnice and Nežárka.
The region Třeboňsko has been for centuries covered by men, but with their sensitive feeling for nature, it is possible to declare Třeboň field a protected landscape area. Man has taken a part in the process of creating the landscape since the 12. century mostly by changing the water ratios of original the sprawling peat fields. The goal was to create a clever network of artificial canals ( Zlatá stoka, Nová řeka) and the huge number of ponds which have been the vaunt of the Czech fishing industry until now. There are 460 ponds in total. This extensive pond system has become an important rookery and migration stop for water birds and the area is well-known for its rich swamp and water vegetation. This region is important for the protection of many of endangered vertebrates, such as river otter and the sea eagle.
From far and near, the highest "hill", Petrák (about 15 meters high), can be seen directly after you get off the train. It is no surprise that the majority of residents and tourists convey themselves by bike. On the map, you will see that Vlkov is encircled from the North by 5 sand pits, which were created in the years 1956-1986 by sand mining on the both sides of river Lužnice. Thanks to the filtration of water from the Lužnice through the sand filters, beautiful lakes with the clear water were created, which invite you to swim. From the South and East, you will meet everywhere pine forests and the ponds. In Vlkov starts the tourist trail (for bikers and walkers too) which meanders around ponds with poetic names like: Countryside, Hope, Love, Trust, Goodwill, or Potěšil (Fountain of Happiness). On this trail, you can continue until you reach the largest Czech pond, Rožmberk (size 720 hectares), having seen thirty-six ponds before you finish.

We hope everyone from age one to one hundred will choose from our huge range of recreation possibilities. The big advantage of this flat landscape is the possibility to go anywhere by bike, plus the distances appear closer. It is up to you to decide: sun shining on the sand beaches (including nudist beaches); swimming in any of the five crystal-clear, sand-bottom ponds by the sand dunes; hiking; fishing on the rivers, Lužnice and Nežárka, or in the ponds; canoeing and rafting; wandering educational trails (there are two nature reservations in the village); or combing for forest fruits (blueberries, ligonberries, blackberries, mushrooms).Vlkov is advised by nudists as one of the be nudist's places, where everyone can find his own private can suggest many small bike trips around the South Bohemia ponds, which could easily change to whole-day trips to the baths at Třeboň, for example, along with visiting a special fish restaurant. In 30 minutes by car you can be at the castle Hluboká nad Vltavou, at the castle Červená Lhota, or at the castle Třeboň. But if you want do something for your health and improve your condition, you could borrow a canoe and go canoeing on river Lužnice. Or you can play football or volleyball on our two playing fields in the village. Risk-lovers can jump into a quarry from the 8-meter-high diving board. An idyllic close to a perfect day is to relax in a Czech pub drinking Czech beer or to have a barbeque with friends and the harmony of mosquito singing in our backyard (also drinking famous Czech beer).
