By car, you can reach the Berliner Ring in just 4 minutes and be in the trendy district of Prenzlauer Berg in only 25 minutes, at the TV tower at Alexanderplatz in 37 minutes, or at the famous Ku'damm in just 44 minutes.
If you want to set off without a car, you can reach a bus stop in only 634 m with just a 9-minute connection to the S-Bahn station "Mühlenbeck-Mönchsmühle" and the Berlin public transport services. What you can do here
Hiking and cycling trails start practically right outside the front door. In just 5 minutes on foot lies Lake Summt for swimming, walking, or fishing. There are various bathing spots there, also suitable for younger children. You can comfortably walk around it in about an hour. Picnic spots, benches, a bathing lawn, and a small beach invite you to linger. A playground offers table tennis, climbing facilities, and a soccer field with basketball hoops as well as a boules court and shady picnic tables. Boating on the lake is permitted for the public with muscle-powered small craft (inflatable boat, SUP).
The Kiessee beach in the Schildow district offers, in addition to a small pebble beach with a lifeguard, also beach volleyball, a snack bar, and sanitary facilities. A Nordic walking trail network in the district of Mühlenbeck-Summt leads through scenic areas with a total of six routes. The routes, which differ in length and are thus suitable for athletes with varying levels of fitness, are marked with animal symbols.
For anglers, the Summter See is home to large carp and bream as well as various predatory fish. It is a body of water belonging to the Brandenburg State Anglers’ Association (LAVB) and therefore you need a fishing permit (license). You can purchase this directly online from the LAVB office or at the fishing shop.
If you would like to exchange ideas with other anglers, AV Glienicke e. V. is the locally responsible association, which, among other things, takes care of maintenance and conservation at Summter See. Furthermore, in the nearby area there is the historic Mönchmühle, the 4 km long Löwenzahnpfad circular trail, the 18 km long Tegeler Fließtal, as well as the equally picturesque Briesetal.
