We present to you our small private holiday home in the heart of Gotteszell.
Our lovingly and cozily furnished holiday house is located directly in the historic Klosterring.
Originally, it was the monastery bakery of the monastery founded in the 12th century.
We call it our “Chalet am Klosterring”.
Over time, the former monastery bakery was converted into a post office, a multi-family house, until it finally came into our care.
The charming, at least 350-year-old house impresses with its historical character and loving details.
There are solid walls as well as thick wooden beams on the ceilings, which create a particularly rustic atmosphere.
Real wood floors and doors give many rooms style and character.
Vaults, curves, and exposed masonry emphasize the unique charm of the old building.
In the small garden, a large terrace with pergola awaits you. Here, the roof can be opened with a crank to catch the sun, and the side blinds offer protection from light rain and wind. This invites you to linger, even in less pleasant weather.
Additional terraces on different levels with lounging or seating areas are also available. In front of the house, there is also a small seating set where you can watch local life over a cup of coffee.
Partially very low door frames and interconnected rooms that are not individually accessible are features to forgive the house for. They belong to the historic charm, recall times past, and make the “Chalet” special.
Our holiday house offers ample space on 180 sqm of living area for up to 8 people. It has a total of 3 large sleeping areas with box spring beds for pleasant sleeping comfort, as well as a bunk bed in the adjoining room with 2 full sleeping places. Optionally, there is also a spacious sofa bed in the ground floor living room.
A special feature: one of the 3 sleeping areas is cleverly integrated into the cozy upper living room. Please note that this room serves as a central passage to the 2 further, separate bedrooms. It is therefore particularly suitable for families or close friends.
The facilities include 3 bathrooms, one of which is very generously sized and also features a freestanding bathtub and underfloor heating. The other two, despite their compact size, are equipped with shower, toilet, and washbasin.
There are 2 living areas. They are distributed between the ground floor and the upper floor.
The upper living room is intended as a living and sleeping area. Here, in addition to the comfortable box spring bed, you will find a recliner, a genuine leather couch combination, and a SAT TV with soundbar.
The illuminated open stone wall on the left and the real wood wall on the right create a beautiful ambiance.
In the lower living room, you also find an illuminated stone wall, combined with thick wooden beams and a cozy large microfiber couch, which can be unfolded into a bed if needed.
Here, too, you have the option of using a SAT TV with soundbar.
For the cold season, there is also a pellet stove here.
In the adjoining room, there is a bunk bed with 2 sleeping places, a wardrobe, and an infrared sauna for up to 4 people.
Also on the ground floor is the spacious kitchen. Here, under a vaulted ceiling, you will find plenty of space and a good basic equipment.
Large microwave, oven at working height, dishwasher, induction hobs, large fridge-freezer combination, sufficient cutlery, plates, pans, pots, toaster, coffee machine, tray, and much more.
But the heart of the “Chalet am Klosterring” for us is the cozy dining room.
Here, too, you will find an interesting vaulted ceiling, a solid wood table for 6 people, a comfortable velvet armchair, ambient lighting, a small padded corner nook by the window, and another seating area for 2 people.
For the cold season, there is also a pellet stove here.
The kitchen, dining room, and the large bathroom are equipped with underfloor heating.
Conclusion:
For us, the “Chalet am Klosterring” is a special holiday home that combines historical charm and modern comfort.
The thick and partly exposed walls, massive wooden beams, real wood floors, solid wood doors, and vaults give the generously designed rooms a special flair.

A dream vacation in beautiful Bavaria! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had 11 beautiful days in Bavaria. The chalet – which has a special history as a former part of a monastery – pleased us very much: It was very clean, cozily furnished, and really equipped with everything one needs. An additional plus: The beds are truly excellent, so we slept wonderfully! In the mornings, we could start the day in the beautiful garden area in the fresh air and relax in the evenings after an eventful day. In the area, there is really plenty to do:
Active & Fun: summer tobogganing, a day trip to the amusement park, and a walk on the treetop path.
Hiking: The BO64 route (voted the most beautiful hiking route in Germany in 2026!) is absolutely recommended. A special highlight is the two beautiful waterfalls that you pass along the way. Excursions & Culture: A visit to the glass village, the historic silver mine in Bodenmais, as well as a day trip to Regensburg with its museums and the impressive cathedral. A trip to the Czech Republic can also be easily undertaken from here.
And even in 11 days, there is so much more to discover in the area that we didn't even get to!
In short: a beautiful, historic, and comfortable holiday home in a varied environment. We would love to come back!
