No phone number was provided with the confirmation. I booked on the 16th, realized on the 18th, the day before I flew to Ogden that I still didn't have a phone number. I attempted to text and call. The text box worked very poorly and the number provided hung up on me twice and Vrbo twice. Vrbo were classy about it, but it took them 9 hours for them to provide the phone number of Motel 6. They had three numbers and called all three. No answer. Then the Vrbo supervisor did the same. No answer. Then he said that their playbook required them to email the host and wait six hours. Still no response. I called the evening before my flight and they finally reached the front desk of Motel 6. I was so tired at that point that I didn't think to call. When I arrived, the asshole at the front desk of Motel 6 (probably the owner) threatened to call the police or may have called the police when I presented a US passport and matching credit card for check-in. I said that there was no way that they were scanning it in the system. Their shitty computers are the reason that 153 million drivers licenses are for sale on the dark web. FUCK YOU AND EVERYONE YOU KNOW. I will write this up for wider circulation. That is the shittiest Motel in Ogden wuith 2.5*, yet the feedback on Travelocity/Vrbo is 5*? Figured out later this is a five-party transaction on Travelocity (Party 1), where I booked a room with "Vrbo" (Party 2) It was a scam by private equity (Party 3) to buy shitty room futures from Motel 6 (Party 4) to resell as "Vrbo" rooms with perfect feedback. Instead of the terrible feedback on Motel 6. With the aim of defrauding Party 5, by passing off Motel 6 as decent lodging. After 12 hours of (intermittent) effort on my part, and 8 hours of effort by Vrbo, they were able to provide a working phone number for the Motel 6. Haven't checked in to tell them that the liars, thieves, and murderers at Party 4 called the police when I said no way, no how to scanning my ID. I knew it was a scam Friday morning (18th) when the cancel button disappeared. I gave Chase a heads up then that there will be a fraudulent charge on my credit card. It will be interesting to see what Vrbo has to say about this. And the internet.
