Villa Lyra was designed with great respect for the unspoiled nature on the edge of the village Ivan Dolac. At the same time, it impresses with a modern spatial concept and a timeless, elegant luxury atmosphere. The neutral color palette creates a calm, harmonious, and stylish ambience, in which the breathtaking sea views from almost every angle of the house take center stage. Description of the Villa

The main entrance is located on the north side of the house and leads directly to the upper floor. On this level there are three spacious and elegantly designed bedrooms, each approximately 16 m², offering tranquility, privacy, and a wide view of the Mediterranean Sea. Two of the south-facing bedrooms have direct access to a 26 m² balcony. Another bedroom faces west and measures approx. 13 m² and does not have a balcony.

All bedrooms are equipped with comfortable king-size beds (180 × 200 cm) and have large French windows that optimally showcase the fantastic view. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, the other two bedrooms share a bathroom. All bathrooms are equipped with walk-in showers. Of course, all bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning as well as insect screens on the windows – a detail that is especially important to many guests. To us as well, by the way.

An internal staircase leads down to the south-facing ground floor, which opens up with a spectacular panoramic view of the sea. This level is open-plan and features floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that seamlessly connect the interior and exterior areas, offering a constantly changing, fascinating view of the sea.

The ground floor combines a modern kitchen with a central cooking island and seating, a dining area, and a living area into a harmonious, open living space. Large doors from the kitchen and dining area open onto a spacious terrace with a grill, covered dining area, and lounge furniture. A large wooden table provides the perfect setting for unforgettable outdoor meals with family and friends – accompanied by the soothing sound of the sea.

The terrace transitions into a gravel-designed garden area, creating a natural, beach-like atmosphere. Garden and property are planted with Mediterranean vegetation, so that not only the eyes but also the sense of smell are indulged. Unique Location & Atmosphere

Thanks to its unique location – within the village, yet pleasantly shielded from neighboring houses and situated directly above the endless blue of the sea – Villa Lyra, with its sophisticated design, high-quality materials, and loving details, invites you to fully immerse yourself in the harmony of Mediterranean colors, sounds, and scents. The ideal place to unwind, relax, and recharge.

Additional Information about the Villa

The villa was built in 2025. The entire property covers 600 m², of which 220 m² are living space, 80 m² are outdoor terraces, and 330 m² are garden area. The villa comfortably accommodates six guests, with additional space for children.

Amenities include two private parking spaces as well as a garage. A stone staircase on the east side of the house leads through terraces and garden directly down to the first rocky bathing spot; numerous beautiful pebble beaches are located in the immediate vicinity. The sea here is crystal clear – the “pool” that Villa Lyra offers is therefore the largest and most beautiful one you could wish for.

We are convinced: Villa Lyra is a perfect place for every soul.

Ivan Dolac
The south side of Hvar tells a story about wine. Just as Christians go to Rome or Muslims to Mecca, all true wine connoisseurs (as well as those who like to consider themselves as such) should also make a pilgrimage to the south of Hvar at least once in their lives.

Ivan Dolac is a small seaside village on the south side of Hvar. The road to Ivan Dolac is somewhat demanding, but it is certainly worth it. The closest place to the exciting tunnel is Zavala – a small fishing village by the sea.

If you drive west from Zavala, you reach Ivan Dolac and Sv. Nedjelja. Both places were inhabited centuries ago by people from Svirče. Ivan Dolac was first mentioned as early as the 15th century. The inhabitants of Svirče cultivated vines at these locations and built their holiday houses there, so that after a hard day’s work they did not have to travel far to get home. At that time, there were no motor vehicles and the distance from the vineyards to the village was quite large.

Today, Ivan Dolac is still primarily the summer residence of the inhabitants of Svirče, but Sveta Nedjelja has developed into an independent settlement that is lively both in summer and in winter.

Once you arrive in Ivan Dolac, you will be surrounded by typical Dalmatian stone architecture, in which the spirit of antiquity is anchored. You will smell the scent of rosemary, lavender, and sage. The crystal blue sea and the beautiful pebble beaches ensure that you are carefree there. If you still have worries, dissolve them in a glass of wine. It should be the best wine – Plavac Mali.

Today, the vineyards are still tended with the same energy, dedication, and love as centuries ago. You are on very rugged terrain and the soil is anything but easy to cultivate, but what is special about this place is the sunshine throughout the whole year. The results of this unique combination are the best wines you can get on the island – high-quality wines that have been recognized by oenologists worldwide. Plavac Mali is the most important Croatian autochthonous variety, and the world-famous Plavac varieties, crowned with numerous international awards, come from these special vineyards: Ivan Dolac (Vujnović); Zlatan Plavac Grand Cru (Plenković); Plavac Mali Barrique (Tomić); Medvid and Medvjedica (Duboković); Plovac Ploški and Plovac Ploški Barrique (Carić).

Ivan Dolac has a few small shops for purchasing basic necessities. There are also several restaurants and cafés. My colleague Dalibor recommends the café “Vartal” in Ivan Dolac. He says it is one of the best places on the island to relax and claims that nowhere else does the iced coffee taste as good. Keep in mind that he is from Svirče and might therefore be biased. But trust him anyway. In any case, I also like “Vartal.” In 2023, a new popular beach bar called "Šanpjerin" opened! Ivan Dolac not only offers hedonistic delights for the palate such as excellent wine or good food, but also numerous recreational opportunities: cycling, hiking, swimming, diving, surfing ... In Ivan Dolac you enjoy a healthy, yet natural, spontaneous, relaxed holiday.

If you need a bank, doctor's office, pharmacy or post office, you have to go to Jelsa, which is the closest to Ivan Dolac (about 15 minutes away by car).
