Arriba & Abajo – two atmospheric holiday apartments near Conil de la Frontera
Welcome to Arriba & Abajo, our small-scale holiday spot on the edge of Conil de la Frontera, in sunny Andalusia. Here it’s all about peace, space, and privacy. Our house is set on a green plot of about 2,500 m², around a 10-minute drive from the beautiful beaches of the Costa de la Luz.
We rent out two independent apartments: Arriba for up to 4 people and Abajo for up to 2 people. The apartments can be booked separately, but can also be rented together for up to 6 people. Ideal if you want to go on holiday together, but still value your own space.
Arriba – for up to 4 people
Arriba is located on the upper floor and has two bedrooms, with beds of 160 × 200 cm and 140 × 200 cm. There is a comfortable living room with air conditioning, a kitchen with, among other things, an oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, two-burner hob, Nespresso machine, and air fryer.
One of the nicest spots in Arriba is the large private rooftop terrace. Here you’ll find various seating and dining areas, a hammock, lots of greenery, and shade cloths for the hot summer days. From the terrace you look out over the surroundings towards the sea and the lighthouse. Especially at the end of the day, this is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset with a drink.
Abajo – for up to 2 people
Abajo is on the ground floor and is a cozy apartment for two people. It has a bedroom with a 160 × 200 cm bed, a living/kitchen area, and a bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with, among other things, a fridge-freezer, two-burner hob, and Nespresso machine.
In front of Abajo is a lovely private veranda, covered with wisteria that provides natural shade. There are two hammocks and a dining area, and in the evening the lighting creates a cozy, almost romantic atmosphere. A great place for couples who mainly seek peace and quiet.
On holiday together, yet your own space
Arriba and Abajo can also be booked together. This makes our accommodation especially suitable for up to six people who want to holiday together without being on top of each other. For example, parents with adult children, two couples, or friends. Spend the day together at the beach, around the pool, or exploring Andalusia, while everyone can retreat to their own apartment afterwards.
In the spacious green garden is the pool with six sunbeds and parasols. The pool is only shared by the guests of Arriba and Abajo; we as owners do not use the pool when there are guests. If you rent both apartments together, you effectively have the pool for your group.
We live on the property ourselves and are available when needed, but we value our guests’ privacy. So you can mostly do your own thing here.
Thanks to Starlink there is fast wifi, but this place really invites you to close your laptop for a while. During the day you hear the birds in the garden and in the evening you can even hear the owls. No mass tourism at your doorstep, but space to unwind.
Yet you’re not far from everything that makes the Costa de la Luz so attractive. The beaches and the lively center of Conil de la Frontera are easily accessible by car. Places like Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz, Jerez, Los Caños de Meca, and Tarifa are also wonderful destinations for a day out. From Tarifa you can even take a day trip to Tangier.
Our accommodation is mainly intended for guests who love peace, nature, privacy, and discovering Andalusia. Not a place for noisy groups, but rather for people who want to have a quiet breakfast on the veranda or rooftop terrace in the morning, visit the beach or a white village for the day, and then return to the pool.
And maybe during your stay you’ll also meet our cats. They also live on the property and by now know exactly how to greet our guests.

Arriba & Abajo are located in a quiet, green area on the edge of Conil de la Frontera, on the beautiful Costa de la Luz. Here you stay away from the bustle of the center and the tourist coast, while the beach and the lively Conil are still about a 10-minute drive away.
The accommodation is situated on a spacious, green plot in a rural and wooded area. There is plenty of privacy and above all, lots of peace. No busy boulevard at your doorstep, but birds in the garden, owls at night, and plenty of space to enjoy outdoor living. From the rooftop terrace of Arriba you can even see the sea and the lighthouse in the distance.
A car is necessary during your stay. This also has a big advantage: from our location you can easily explore various beaches, white villages, and cities of Andalusia.
Conil de la Frontera has an atmospheric historic center with white streets, terraces, restaurants, and shops. Along the coast are kilometers of sandy beaches and smaller bays. There is also plenty to discover outside Conil.
The beautiful white village of Vejer de la Frontera is nearby and is definitely worth a visit. For a relaxing day by the sea, Los Caños de Meca, El Palmar, and Sancti Petri are nice destinations. If you want to drive a bit further, you can go to Cádiz, a remarkable historic city almost entirely surrounded by sea, or to Jerez de la Frontera, known for its sherry and Andalusian horses.
Tarifa, the southernmost tip of Spain, is also perfect for a day trip. Here, the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean meet, and on clear days you can see Africa across the water. From Tarifa, even a day trip by boat to Tangier in Morocco is possible.
The location is therefore ideal for guests who like variety during their holiday: a day at the beach, visiting a white village, strolling through Cádiz, lunching by the sea, or simply going nowhere and just enjoying the peace by the pool.
A peaceful and rural stay, with the beaches of the Costa de la Luz and the best of southern Andalusia within easy reach.

We find it important that our guests know in advance what to expect, so that everyone can enjoy their holiday in a relaxed manner.
Arriba and Abajo are located on the same property as our own home. We respect the privacy of our guests and do not use the pool when guests are staying. The pool is shared exclusively by the guests of Arriba and Abajo. When both apartments are rented together, the pool is therefore only for your group.
Barbecuing is not allowed at our accommodation. Due to our location in a wooded and dry area and the increased fire risk during much of the year, we do not provide a barbecue and the use of your own barbecue is also not permitted.
The accommodation is mainly intended for guests seeking peace and relaxation. Parties and noisy groups therefore do not fit our location. Of course, children are very welcome in Arriba.
Because we are located rurally on the edge of Conil, your own transport is necessary. Parking is available on our own property.
The pool is open during the regular rental season. In the winter period, when we rent out the apartments for longer stays, the pool is closed.
Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. and check-out is no later than 10:00 a.m. A different arrival time is, if possible, always by arrangement.
Arriba is suitable for a maximum of 4 people and Abajo for a maximum of 2 people. The apartments can also be rented together for up to 6 people. Visitors from outside cannot use the pool or other facilities on the property.
For small children, a cot and high chair can be added upon request. For this we charge €25 per stay, including bed linen.
Our home is connected to a septic system. Therefore, toilet paper must not be flushed down the toilet. A hygienic solution is provided in the bathrooms and waste bags are available by the toilet.
Our cats also live on the property. They like to occasionally see who is visiting and are now considered by many of our guests as part of the charm of the place.
Thanks to Starlink, the apartments have a good and fast internet connection.
We live on the property ourselves and are therefore available if there is anything you need or if you want tips about the area. At the same time, we find it important that our guests can enjoy their holiday in complete peace and privacy.

We are René and Jenneke, who settled in beautiful Andalusia from the Netherlands in 2020. We are both in our early 60s and enjoy making our house more beautiful. From April through October, we like to welcome guests who want to get to know the authentic and traditional part of Andalusia. Peace and space are guaranteed with us. We have a beautiful piece of greenery in the countryside close to the main roads to, among others, Cadiz, Tarifa, Caños de la Mecca, Chiclana, and Jerez de la Frontera.
