Description

Our biologically renovated and sustainably restored, approximately 300-year-old half-timbered holiday home combines modern comfort with the charm of a cottage. It accommodates 8 people. Enjoy relaxing in front of the fire- and heat-giving wood stove or in the sun in the garden. Experience the magic of the wonderful landscape with its wide views of the sacred sites of Sonnenstein, Kyffhäuser, the “Ayers Rock,” and into the Harz mountains to the volcanic peak Ravensberg. The Accommodation
Since the holiday home is located in the middle of Germany, it is ideal for family gatherings or get-togethers with friends.

Guest Access
Dear guests, you will occupy the entire house and can use the beautiful garden in front of the house for yourselves.
Our wood-fired sauna is in the garden and can be rented for a fee (30.00€ usage) with timely reservation.

Other Important Notes
- Unfortunately, our holiday home is not wheelchair accessible/barrier-free. - Pets: one dog 50€/stay and no stay in the bedrooms. Additional dogs on request. Additional costs may then apply.
- Please bring house shoes.
- Unfortunately, internet access is only about 2 Mbps fast, as we live in an underserved region.
- The following additional costs are to be expected on site or if needed:
1. In addition to the rental price, the eco-electricity you use (heating, hot water, etc.) will be charged at 45 cents/kWh. Depending on the weather, number of people, and heating behavior, the daily costs ranged from 3€ (summer) to approx. 50€ (winter) in the year 2022. The eco-electricity is charged according to actual consumption upon departure. You can control the electricity consumption yourself through your behavior.
2. Firewood (no coal) for the wood stove can be brought by yourself or purchased from us for 8€ per basket.
3. If you would like to use our wood-heated sauna, this costs 30€ per use incl. Firewood. Please register in good time.
4. If you would like a linen package, consisting of bed linen, towels and dish towels etc., this costs €18.00 per person.

Location and surroundings of object

The holiday home "Die Post" is located in the wonderful sunny South Harz Nature Park. Here is a unique karst region with its sinkhole lakes, rocks, and extraordinary flora and fauna. The forests are light beech woods, alternating with generous meadows and fields. The landscape is hilly and offers fantastic views of the Kyffhäuser, the Sonnenstein, or the old volcanic cone of the Ravenberg. Between Liebenrode and Steinsee lie the idyllic, romantic sinkhole lakes. The UNESCO World Heritage Cistercian Monastery Walkenried is only 5 km away.
From Liebenrode you can easily reach all ski areas of the Harz. Travel time from 15 min to 30 min.
Hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling or simply lying in the hammock, everything is possible.
Out and about around the accommodation
By train to Walkenried, Bad Sachsa or Nordhausen.
Bus connection from Nordhausen.
