We really enjoyed our stay in Bérismenil, The garden area was lovely for evening BBQs, and having a dishwasher made clean-up a lot easier, Overall, a practical choice for large groups,

The house is located in a quiet and green environment. We made nice and beautiful walks and, since the weather allowed it, enjoyed wading in the nearby river. The whole house is clean and dry but urgently needs a refresh. There were also quite a few downsides: Upon entering, we already noticed that there was indeed an industrial coffee maker present but without the 2 coffee pots or special filters. The coffee pots turned out to be "on order." There was a Nespresso coffee machine but no (expensive) pods. We had to take care of that ourselves. The TV worked but was unusable because the TV box was no longer active and needed to be replaced by a newer model from Proximus. The information available on Belvilla.com states that there is an electric charging station present. However, in a handwritten note stuck to the fridge, it states that it is strictly forbidden to use it. In some bedrooms on the lower floor, there are swarms of ants. There are extermination boxes present. We found a toilet on the ground floor that was leaking a bit of water at the bottom. A number of lamps are in poor condition and need to be replaced urgently - for safety reasons. In short, there are both pros and cons, but the whole is not worth its price at this moment. Pros and Cons Good about the house is the possibility to arrive with a larger group. We experienced a family short vacation with 4 generations, and the house size was ideal. Pros are the 10 bedrooms with many beds and bathrooms/WCs on each floor and even in the basements. Important to know: Steep stairs with narrow steps and not everywhere an ideal railing to allow older people safe access to the bedrooms! NO bedrooms on the ground floor! Pros were the clean beds (hard but cleanly made). Pros include the possibility of bringing dogs. We had 6 small dogs with us and it was no problem (the area is not fenced!). Pros include the industrial dishwasher, which completed the washing and drying in 3 minutes, and the very well-equipped kitchen. Pros were the many sofas in the huge living room; we could enjoy games together wonderfully. Pros are the parking options for the cars (but you have to park the cars backwards next to the house down the slope). Pro is the large refrigerator and also a freezer in the basement. Pro is the sauna (which we did not use at almost 30°). Cons: The house is in a somewhat very worn condition. A con for us was that we had no WiFi/WLAN for the 4 days. The handwritten password did not work in any of the countless writing variants, and despite contacting (Belvilla + caretaker) and later feedback, no solution was found for this. Very unfortunate. The downside and very annoying was the outdoor area; the wooden tables on the veranda were very weathered and one table end had already fallen apart. Please only enter the terrace floor with shoes (even in summer!) as our granddaughter stepped on a huge wood splinter in her foot. Against the fact that a gas grill was visible in the house pictures but only an old charcoal grill was on site (we had specifically packed a gas bottle and then had to look for charcoal somewhere in the area just before closing time). Against the almost falling apart sink front. Attention! Against the generally very worn condition of the house... it would be advisable to make some repairs or renew it, as it unfortunately looks like they just want to extract money from the property. Example: Broken window pane, torn spots in the wall and on door frames, rancid sofas, broken PVC tablecloths, broken wall lamp, mold in various showers, collapsing sink front (here the tiles and wood are coming apart)... Actually, this house with its possibilities could be transformed into a great refuge that offers space for beautiful (family) gatherings. We are not picky and do not want to speak badly of the vacation property; overall, the stay was okay, although different from what we expected based on the pictures, but we would not book here again.

Pleasant house but… Contact person does not speak French, in Wallonia! Dishwasher to be checked. Dishes come out dirtier than washed. Industrial coffee machine with no operating instructions. All or almost all information is in Dutch! No heating in the basement. Not great with children. Shower water drains very, very slowly in the basement. Free wifi, yes, but we couldn't connect to it. 10 rooms advertised but one resembling more of a closet with very, very small bunk beds. With many adults, it’s boring. The kitchen is very small. There would be a lot to gain in heating if the windows were equipped with double glazing. On the other hand, good bedding! The beds ready to welcome us, it’s very good. The dining room is bright and pleasant. Given the weather, we couldn’t enjoy the beautiful terrace.

We spent a weekend here, and it was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped, which made it easy to prepare meals together. The sauna was a nice bonus after a day of hiking.
