Vacation to unwind

We spent 14 days here in a beautiful and quiet environment. In the generously equipped accommodation, nothing is missing, so we felt comfortable from the very beginning. The hosts are extremely friendly and always reachable. We received wonderful excursion tips with detailed descriptions time and again. The impressive nature surrounding us invites exploration and hiking. - You can start right at the front door. Day trips to the North and Baltic Sea with nature and cultural experiences (Emil Nolde Museum Seebüll, Husum, beautiful churches, stork village Bergenhusen, etc.) are easily doable. The view of the ferry and passing ships is better than any TV program!

Bei Knut und Maria sitzt ihr in der 1.Reihe am Kanal. Die Wohnung ist gemütlich eingerichtet und hier findet man alles was man braucht. Wir konnten hier 1 Woche Ruhe tanken. mit kleinen Spaziergängen am Kanal kamen einem die Schiffe gefühlt noch näher. Es ist sehr zu empfehlen mal eine Woche oder dort zu verbringen.

Best place on the Northeast Sea Canal

We had a wonderful stay! The location right by the North-East Sea Canal is simply sensational – better than any television, one could watch the passing ships for hours. The holiday apartment is well-equipped and truly offers everything that young and old need for a relaxing and varied holiday – no matter the weather. We would especially like to highlight the very nice and helpful hosts, who supported us with valuable tips. The price-performance ratio is excellent. Those looking for a vacation with plenty of peace and maritime entertainment are absolutely right here!

Oh yes…!
What can we say: actually, we find it hard to use the word "perfect" - because "something" is always known to be…
But not here! It is truly PERFECT at Maria and Knut's!
Let's start with the area:
The "scent of the great wide world" blows over to us with every large ship on the North-East Sea Canal! The vacation apartment is right next to the "Ferry Fischerhütte," and that means we are "right in the middle"! It won't be boring there. The (actually set up as economic paths) foot/bike paths invite you to stroll, run, and cycle, and the new snack bar in direct proximity has delicious sandwiches and fish rolls!
It rained quite often during our week... actually always...?
No problem in our vacation apartment "Steuerbord":
A complete setup, including a covered terrace and underfloor heating, makes you forget the rain outside and creates a really cozy atmosphere inside! Starting with the kitchen: it is not a given that there is a full cooking range, including an oven plus a microwave on offer. A dishwasher, small appliances such as a kettle, coffee maker, and toaster, as well as a freezer and washing machine (plus dryer) if needed, complete the offer. Full equipment with dishes and towels is, of course, included. A new bathroom and a great bed with wonderful mattresses are included. Electric adjustable slatted frames (great for watching TV) invite you to feel good and chill!

Maria and Knut are very attentive hosts: Since we arrived with our two dogs, there were 2 food bowls, toys, and even a dog bed ready for them!!! The fenced garden for freely "getting some fresh air" is, quote: "that's taken for granted here." Our hosts were very concerned that we felt comfortable and that we lacked for nothing…

And so we had a great, relaxing week, and it was certainly not the last time we will say "ahoy" to Maria and Knut!

Hello,
We were at the Fährhaus Fischerhütte for the first time and right in the new apartment "Steuerbord". It was a great short vacation at the NOK in a TOP holiday apartment that has a special "flair". The description of the apartment on the website is 100% accurate, and in addition, there are the personal and loving details from the nice hosts Maria and Knut that make the apartment something different from normal holiday accommodations. Dear Maria, dear Knut, we will definitely come back and look forward to seeing you again.

Hello from the land between the seas. We discovered the Fährhaus Fischerhütte in 2021 and could hardly believe that such a beautiful house in such a special location had been empty for 5 years. For us it was clear right away: This is it! Ideal for our plans to live in a beautiful place ourselves while also letting others share in it. In the summer of 2024, after a long phase of planning, approval, renovation, and design, it was finally time: the first of the two holiday apartments was ready. We are looking forward to welcoming guests. Being hosts has accompanied us through life: most recently for 15 years as hostel parents at a youth hostel located on an 800-year-old castle-like site in the city of Mühlhausen in Thuringia. The great part about being hosts? That one keeps being reminded of how good one has it, so that it never becomes taken for granted.

Oh ja… !! Was sollen wir sagen: eigentlich fällt es uns schwer, das Wort "Perfekt" zu benutzen - denn „irgend was“ ist bekanntlich ja immer… Aber nicht hier! Es ist wirklich PERFEKT bei Maria und Knut! Beginnen wir mit der Gegend: Der „Duft der großen Weiten Welt“ weht mit jedem großen Schiff auf dem Nord-Ostsee-Kanal zu uns herüber! Liegt die Ferienwohnung doch direkt neben der „Fähre Fischerhütte“ und damit sind wir „mittendrin“! Langweilig wird’s da nicht. Die (eigentlich als Wirtschaftswege eingerichteten) Fuss/Radwege laden zum spazieren, laufen, radeln ein und der neue Imbiss in direkter Nachbarschaft hat leckere Sandwiches und Fischbrötchen! Es regnete ziemlich oft während unserer Woche … also eigentlich immer... ? Kein Problem in unserer FeWo „Steuerbord“: Eine komplette Ausstattung, inkl. überdachter Terrasse und Fußbodenheizung lassen den Regen draußen vergessen und es drinnen richtig gemütlich haben! Beginnend mit der Küche: keine Selbstverständlichkeit, dass hier sowohl ein volles Kochfeld, inkl. Backofen zzgl. Mikrowelle im Angebot sind. Geschirrspülmaschine, Kleingeräte, wie Wasserkocher, Kaffeemaschine und Toaster, sowie bei Bedarf TK-Truhe und Waschmaschine (zzgl. Trockner), runden das Angebot ab. Volle Ausstattung mit Geschirr und Handtüchern ist selbstverständlich. Ein Neues Badezimmer und ein tolles Bett mit herrlichen Matratzen inkl. elektrisch verstellbarer Lattenroste (super zum fernsehen) laden zum Wohlfühlen und Chillen ein! Maria und Knut sind sehr aufmerksame Gastgeber: Da wir mit unseren zwei Hunden anreisten, standen 2 Futternäpfe, Spielzeug und sogar ein Hundebett für die beiden bereit!!! Der eingezäunte Garten zum freien „frische Luft schnappen“ gehört Zitat: „das ist hier selbstverständlich“ dazu. Unseren Gastgebern war sehr wichtig, dass wir uns wohl fühlten und es uns an nichts fehlte… Und so hatten wir eine tolle, erholsame Woche und es war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir „ahoi“ sagen werden bei Maria und Knut!
