Discover the idyllic tranquility of the Diana mountain hut, located in a quiet area near Höhe-Rinne (Paltinis). This charming cabin provides space for 2-4 guests across 50 square meters.
It offers you a beautiful panoramic view, like from an eagle's nest, over the Transylvanian plateau with all its villages, lakes, and cities (45°41'44" N, 23°58'35" E). The Diana Alpine Hut features a wrap-around terrace, entrance hall, living room with kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and a sleeping loft in the attic. The kitchenette includes a gas stove with two burners, a sink, and a gas-operated refrigerator.

On cooler days, a fireplace in the living area provides cozy warmth, a homely atmosphere, and good spirits. Due to its remote location, the alpine hut Diana is self-sufficient and the equipment is somewhat spartan: the power supply is secured by solar panels and solar batteries (12 V), there is a water tank of 350 liters for shower and toilet per stay. Hot water is generated by a gas-powered continuous flow water heater. Drinking water is provided in a 20-liter canister per stay; otherwise, it should be brought by the guest. Almhütte Diana has a TV with satellite reception (also DVD player) and a music system with DAB reception, CD player, and USB port for your own music.

Outside the hut, the meadow of the over 4,000 sqm property invites you to linger. A barbeque facility is also available—perfect for cozy evenings under the starry sky. Parking on the property in front of the hut provides convenience when arriving by car. The location of the cottage is a true dream for nature lovers: surrounded by picturesque mountain landscapes and lush meadows that invite you to hike and explore. The pure mountain air and the quiet surroundings offer a perfect retreat from everyday life.

From the holiday home, there is a wonderful view over Sibiu and the surrounding villages; on a clear day, you can see across the whole Transylvanian plain to the north of Romania. To the south, the majestic Făgăraș Mountains appear with peaks over 2,500 m.

In the vicinity of the holiday home, you can undertake some hikes on your own. Similarly, one can go Nordic walking or cycling in pristine nature but also visit Sibiu and its surroundings. For particularly active guests, guided mountain tours of various difficulty levels can also be offered.

Accessibility

The connecting path between the county road 106A Sibiu – Paltinis, at the height of Km 8 and the mountain hut Diana (about 2 Km), is best traveled with an SUV. It is a gravel road. You can manage with a conventional car if you have some driving skill, provided the route is not (especially) wet.
From Sibiu Airport, the Diana mountain hut is reachable via Gura-Raului, about 27 km away, with an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.
