This beautiful and historical castle is located on the edge of the village of le Veurdre. A route to Santiago de Compostella runs through the village. The complex is located in a place that gives you absolute peace and a magnificent rural view. The castle - built around 1400 - has an exciting history and is said to have been a camp of Jeanne d ""Arc. The first king of France also stayed there for a week. The house is spacious and attractive. You enter the hall, a large and a small lounge, a large dining room, kitchen and utility room. This castle is ideal for a large family. There are some great hiking and biking trails near the castle. Route Saint Jacques de Compostelle is 500 m away. The city of Nevers is 34 km away. Saint Etienne de Bourges Cathedral is 65 km away. In the summer it is wonderful to relax on the two large terraces. In winter you can enjoy the roaring fires in the large fireplaces. The cosy furnishings with many antique elements guarantee an unforgettable stay.

Great place. Large house with 4 good spacious bedrooms. Downstairs a spacious eat-in kitchen, dining room, and 2 living rooms/salons. Outside a large terrace with 100% privacy and a beautiful view. The pool is amazing and also very nicely landscaped and maintained. We stayed with 2 families (4 adults and 5 children) and had a great stay. The owners were always reachable but also granted all privacy. We will definitely come back, highly recommended.

Often the photos are much better than reality. Not here! Super beautiful castle with plenty of space and privacy. Nice swimming pool and you feel like you are in a 'live antique shop'. Beds are of normal (Dutch) size. Everything you need is present. Also in the kitchen. We would have liked to add another week to our stay.

A great location, in a beautiful quiet environment. Really a little castle as a castle should be, old with beautiful details, both inside and out. However, for some it might be a bit too cluttered, with all sorts of antique items. It didn't bother us, and we found it especially hilarious. There is definitely plenty to see ;-) Anyway, a lovely place, with a lovely pool (salt water, which is super) with a lot of authenticity.

We were very kindly received by the hostess, The house is a real castle with lots of land around it. We enjoyed the rural atmosphere in the garden a lot. We also really appreciated the pool. The interior is very authentic, the living room with the large fireplace is very cozy. We liked the quiet area very much and we hope to come back here again.
