Description
The alpine house is located at 1400m in a quiet settlement on the Saualm. From the panoramic windows and the balcony, you have a wonderful view of the mountains of southern Carinthia.
With three bedrooms in the basement as well as a large living room and kitchen on the ground floor, the house accommodates six people and is therefore also well suited for families. Optionally, one or two additional people can sleep in the cozy living room. The house has a gas heating system, as well as a wood stove in the living room and kitchen; the bedrooms have additional infrared panels.
The special feature of this house is that we use it as a family, but at the same time want to offer other people the opportunity to spend their holidays here. The character and furnishings of the house are therefore very personal and homely. We are happy that we can share the house with many people.

Location and surroundings of object
A ski and tobogganing slope is located in the immediate vicinity. There are special toboggans for rent, which are pulled uphill by a button lift, to speed down on their own toboggan slope again. The season lasts until early March, depending on the weather.
Day passes cost: Adults 25€, Youth 23€, Children 21€.
The Klippitztörl ski area can be easily reached by car (about 45 minutes drive) and offers more slopes and lifts for skiing. The Saualm is very popular for hiking and touring in both summer and winter. The routes are well signposted and described, such as from the Steinerhütte up to Großen Sauofen (as seen in the pictures).

Amazing view and great, cozy house
A truly wonderful place to relax, unwind, and hike!
The house is located in a small settlement near the peaks of the Saualpe, wonderfully situated among forests in a small mountain village. The view of the Alpine ridge and over the Klagenfurt basin directly from the living room/terrace is incredibly beautiful, and the sunsets are unmatched.
Within walking distance, there are two inns that both offer delicious food and drinks for a sociable evening. There are some beautiful, developed places in the area (Kugelfichte, various springs, and prehistoric archaeological sites). The hike to the summit takes 3-4 hours, and the panoramic view as well as the beautiful hike beyond the tree line are absolutely recommended.
We were on site in winter, and with the local lift, we could even do some skiing and sledding in between (also at night on weekends). About 45 minutes away by car, there is also a nice, larger ski area (Klippitztörl) that we really liked. For the summer, there are various castles and museums in the area that seem worth a visit, and down in the valley, about 20 minutes away, there are good shopping options.
The landlords are super nice and take good care of the house and the guests. It is overall very nice and privately cozy furnished with a fireplace, large living room & kitchen. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Cozy and nice
The alpine house is rustic and cozy. It offers a breathtaking view that one wants to look at again and again. The kitchen is well-equipped. The included wood usage is great. From the alpine house, you can easily hike up to the cabin and find some hiking trails. In winter, skiing or tobogganing as well as ski courses are possible. Going down to the valley is great for shopping. The landlords are reliable and nice. A stay is recommended!

Authentic alpine house with breathtaking view
Perfect place for a few days in the countryside or in front of the cozy wood stove!
Next to the house, there are other alpine houses, but you still live secluded enough to unwind.
The living room offers a lot of space; I would wish for a little more space in the refrigerator.
The hostess was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
We are already looking forward to the next time!
