Description
Welcome to holiday home no. 6, Friedrichroda-Finsterbergen. Our charming holiday home offers space for up to 6 guests on 75 square metres of living space. The house has two bedrooms and a bathroom, perfect for families or small groups.
Surrounded by a rural landscape and a natural forest setting, the holiday home offers an idyllic atmosphere. Relax in the garden while the children play on the lawn. There is also a terrace where you can enjoy the fresh air and the view. A barbecue is available for barbecue evenings.
Inside the house you will find a cosy living room with comfortable furniture, a TV, DVD and a pellet stove, ideal for chilly evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. There is also a dining table, perfect for shared meals.
The holiday home offers two comfortable bedrooms with high-quality bed linen. A cot and high chair are available for families with small children. The bathroom is modern and functional.
In addition to these amenities, the holiday home offers a car park and free Wi-Fi. Long-term rentals are possible and the house is exclusively for non-smokers. Smoking is permitted on the terrace.
Electricity and pellets are charged separately according to consumption. At the moment the Kwh electricity costs 0,40 Euro and a 15kg bag of pellets 7,-Euro.
The municipality of Friedrichroda charges a visitor's tax per person and day for adults 2,10 Euro and for children from 6 years 1,30 Euro.

Friedrichroda-Finsterbergen is a charming village in the Thuringian Forest, Germany.
The holiday home is located in a quiet holiday home complex with 10 holiday homes on the outskirts of Finsterbergen. The location in the Thuringian Forest on the edge of the Rennsteig offers hikers and cyclists a wide range of activities. The Finsterbergen leisure pool with large swimming pool, water slide and sunbathing lawn with adjoining mini golf course is about 300 metres away. (open from 01.06-31.08)
In Bad Tabarz there is a sports and health pool with sauna, indoor and outdoor areas and sunbathing lawns (approx. 6 km away)
In less than an hour by car you can reach Eisenach with the Wartburg or the state capital Erfurt.
There is a bakery and a butcher in Finsterbergen, and shopping centres in Friedrichroda or Tambach-Dietharz can be reached by car in 15 minutes.

Autumn holiday with the squirrels
We spent another autumn holiday week in Finsterbergen. Unfortunately, it looked a bit unusual this time - many trees had to be cut down for safety reasons. The squirrels still came to the terrace to feast on the nuts we brought and to replenish their winter supplies. Right from the bungalow, many hikes can be undertaken. This year, several mushrooms were also found right at the edge of the path. At the Köhlerhütte, there is a fire pit where we baked stick bread, and at the archery range, newcomers are welcome - it was a varied and very relaxing few days, would love to do it again!

Top accommodation
A beautiful bungalow in a lovely setting, practically right at the edge of the forest. The amenities are above expectations, everything you need is there, except for a small drying rack, which would have been nice for wet items, etc. (Rain also occurs in the Thuringian Forest), but that's "complaining at a high level." Very good communication with the host, you get all the information on the spot and the host is always reachable/available if there are any questions (which was not necessary for us). The accommodation is also very good in terms of price.

Cozy house in the middle of nature
A few weeks before our arrival, almost all the trees on the property were cut down. Originally, the house was in the middle of the forest. We still liked it very much because it is sunnier that way. The house itself is quite spacious and well-maintained. We felt very comfortable.

Those seeking peace are right here.
We rented the bungalow accommodation for a week over New Year's with a dog and can absolutely recommend it. Those looking for peace and who love nature are always right here. The accommodation in Finsterbergen is located right on the edge of the Thuringian Forest, so one could immediately embark on extensive hikes from there. The furnishings were otherwise fine, and all necessary items were present. The high-quality mattresses were particularly noteworthy! Rarely have we slept so well in accommodation. The bungalow was heated with a pellet stove, which needed to be stocked in the morning and evening. For shopping, we used the Lidl and Edeka markets in Friedrichroda. There is also plenty of gastronomy available in Friedrichroda, and the Gasthof zur Linde in Finsterbergen is also recommended. Contact with the landlord was otherwise unproblematic via WhatsApp. All in all, we had a very relaxing and restful holiday in Finsterbergen. We recommend the accommodation without reservation.

Rest and relaxation
We were allowed to be guests in this beautiful holiday home this summer and can recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet. Hiking trails right in front of the house, the outdoor pool less than a 3-minute walk away, and the quiet location are just great. Upon arrival, we felt welcomed. Two bedrooms ensured that our teenager immediately fell for one. The furnishings are cozy and all essentials are available. We lacked nothing, so the vacation could start right away. Bakers and butchers are in the village; for everything else, Friedrichroda is not far away. A special highlight were the numerous squirrels that visited the terrace every morning and afternoon, simply beautiful. We thank the Schellenberg family very much and will definitely book again. We felt very comfortable during the 14 days, and even our furry friend had a hard time saying goodbye.
