Description
Welcome to holiday home no. 6, Friedrichroda-Finsterbergen. Our charming holiday home offers space for up to 6 guests on 75 square metres of living space. The house has two bedrooms and a bathroom, perfect for families or small groups.
Surrounded by a rural landscape and a natural forest setting, the holiday home offers an idyllic atmosphere. Relax in the garden while the children play on the lawn. There is also a terrace where you can enjoy the fresh air and the view. A barbecue is available for barbecue evenings.
Inside the house you will find a cosy living room with comfortable furniture, a TV, DVD and a pellet stove, ideal for chilly evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. There is also a dining table, perfect for shared meals.
The holiday home offers two comfortable bedrooms with high-quality bed linen. A cot and high chair are available for families with small children. The bathroom is modern and functional.
In addition to these amenities, the holiday home offers a car park and free Wi-Fi. Long-term rentals are possible and the house is exclusively for non-smokers. Smoking is permitted on the terrace.
Electricity and pellets are charged separately according to consumption. At the moment the Kwh electricity costs 0,40 Euro and a 15kg bag of pellets 7,-Euro.
The municipality of Friedrichroda charges a visitor's tax per person and day for adults 2,10 Euro and for children from 6 years 1,30 Euro.

Friedrichroda-Finsterbergen is a charming village in the Thuringian Forest, Germany.
The holiday home is located in a quiet holiday home complex with 10 holiday homes on the outskirts of Finsterbergen. The location in the Thuringian Forest on the edge of the Rennsteig offers hikers and cyclists a wide range of activities. The Finsterbergen leisure pool with large swimming pool, water slide and sunbathing lawn with adjoining mini golf course is about 300 metres away. (open from 01.06-31.08)
In Bad Tabarz there is a sports and health pool with sauna, indoor and outdoor areas and sunbathing lawns (approx. 6 km away)
In less than an hour by car you can reach Eisenach with the Wartburg or the state capital Erfurt.
There is a bakery and a butcher in Finsterbergen, and shopping centres in Friedrichroda or Tambach-Dietharz can be reached by car in 15 minutes.

Vacation with family
We had a lovely week here, which unfortunately passed very quickly. The holiday home offers plenty of space, is clean and cozy. We felt very comfortable. In the quiet location, we relaxed a lot in nice weather. During our hikes through the forest, we also collected many mushrooms. We are looking forward to next year. Thank you very much for the lovely week.

Family vacation
We had a nice and relaxing week in the holiday home with our three teenage grandchildren. There was plenty of space in the house. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped, all the necessary things were available. Our grandchildren would have liked to have a dishwasher. They said that would have saved them the discussions about who is next to wash or dry the dishes. They managed it nonetheless. A plus point on their part, the Wi-Fi.
Communication with the host was always straightforward.
The location of the holiday home was perfect, hiking trails starting from the holiday home complex, and just 300m away a small but very nice outdoor pool with beach volleyball and mini-golf facilities. The visiting mine Marienglashöhle, the Funpark Inselsberg, and the beautiful city of Gotha with the castle are reachable in a few minutes by car. We had a nice, enjoyable time and gladly recommend the holiday home.

Super Hiking Vacation
We had a very nice stay at the holiday home in Finsterbergen in the Thuringian Forest. The house is well-equipped, clean, and cozy – everything was available that one needs for a relaxing vacation.
We were especially pleased that our dog was also warmly welcomed. Despite the rainy weather, we were able to take many beautiful hikes in the area and enjoy nature.
We felt completely comfortable and can gladly recommend the holiday home.

Autumn holiday with the squirrels
We spent another autumn holiday week in Finsterbergen. Unfortunately, it looked a bit unusual this time - many trees had to be cut down for safety reasons. The squirrels still came to the terrace to feast on the nuts we brought and to replenish their winter supplies. Right from the bungalow, many hikes can be undertaken. This year, several mushrooms were also found right at the edge of the path. At the Köhlerhütte, there is a fire pit where we baked stick bread, and at the archery range, newcomers are welcome - it was a varied and very relaxing few days, would love to do it again!

Top accommodation
A beautiful bungalow in a lovely setting, practically right at the edge of the forest. The amenities are above expectations, everything you need is there, except for a small drying rack, which would have been nice for wet items, etc. (Rain also occurs in the Thuringian Forest), but that's "complaining at a high level." Very good communication with the host, you get all the information on the spot and the host is always reachable/available if there are any questions (which was not necessary for us). The accommodation is also very good in terms of price.

Das Ferienhaus bietet viel Platz, ist sauber und gemütlich. Wir haben uns
sehr wohl gefühlt. In der ruhigen Lage haben wir uns bei schönem Wetter sehr erholt. Bei unseren Wanderungen durch den Wald, haben wir auch viele Pilze gesammelt. Wir freuen uns auf's nächste Jahr.

Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war jederzeit unkompliziert möglich.
Die Lage des Ferienhauses war perfekt, Wanderwege ab Ferienhausanlage, in nur 300m Entfernung ein kleines aber sehr schönes Freibad mit Beachvolleyball- und Minigolfanlage. Das Besichtigungsbergwerk Marienglashöhle, der Funpark Inselsberg und die schöne Stadt Gotha mit dem Schloss sind in wenigen Autominuten erreichbar.
Wir hatten eine schöne, kurzweilige Zeit und empfehlen das Ferienhaus gerne weiter.
Besonders gefreut hat uns, dass auch unser Hund herzlich willkommen war. Trotz des regnerischen Wetters konnten wir viele schöne Wanderungen in der Umgebung unternehmen und die Natur genießen.
Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Ferienhaus gerne weiterempfehlen.
Direkt vom Bungalow aus lassen sich viele Wanderungen unternehmen. Dieses Jahr standen zudem etliche Pilze direkt am Wegesrand. An der Köhlerhütte gibt es eine Feuerstelle, wo wir uns Knüppelkuchen gebacken haben, und auf dem Bogensportplatz ist man zum Schnuppern gern gesehen - es waren abwechslungsreiche und sehr erholsame Tage, gern wieder!
Gleich bei der Ankunft fühlten wir uns willkommen. 2 Schlafzimmer sorgten dafür, das sich unser Teenager sofort auf eines stürzte. Die Ausstattung ist liebevoll und alles vorhanden. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt So konnte der Urlaub gleich starten. Bäcker und Fleischer sind im Ort für alles weitere ist Friedrichroda nicht weit . Als besonderes Highlight waren jeden Morgen und Nachmittags die zahlreichen Eichhörnchen Gäste auf der Terrasse, einfach schön.
Wir bedanken uns vielmals bei Familie Schellenberg und werden sicher wieder buchen.
Wir haben uns die 14 Tage sehr wohl gefühlt und auch unsere Fellnase fiel der Abschied schwer.
Es ist sehr gemütlich, es fehlt einem an nichts und ihre Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und zu vorkommend.
Wer seinen Urlaub gerne im Grünen/ Wald verbringt, gerne wandert, oder aber auch einfach nur mal Ruhe und Erholung haben möchte, ist hier genau richtig.
Man kann lange Spaziergänge mit dem Hund direkt vom Haus aus machen, ohne ins Auto zu steigen.
Das Haus ist sehr sauber und wer Luxus hoch drei erwartet, ist hier falsch. Wir denken, so was muss nicht immer sein. Wichtig ist uns die Sauberkeit und Lage, hier gibt es nichts auszusetzen.
Die Vermieter sind zwar nicht Vorort, aber immer erreichbar und es gibt auch jemanden, der zur Stelle ist, wenn es Probleme geben sollte.
Die gute Lage läd zu vielen Ausflügen ein, die man in kurzer Zeit mit dem Auto erreichen kann.
Bâcker und Metzger sind direkt im Ort und nur wenige Fahrminuten kann man alles einkaufen, was gebraucht wird.
Unbedingt eine oder auch mehrere Thüringer Bratwürste sind ein Muss.
Fazit: Wir waren gerne hier und kommen auch wieder.
