Description

Our holiday home is located in the heart of beautiful Saxon Switzerland, at the foot of the Bärensteine, not far from the Bastei, with a direct view of Königstein Fortress. The holiday home is located on a 600 m² fenced property with parking facilities. Bicycles can be stored in a lockable room. Garden furniture and two sun loungers are available for use on the covered terrace. On cosy summer evenings you can treat yourself to culinary delights from the barbecue.
The accommodation is equipped with all the necessary items indoors and outdoors for a perfect stay.
Fly screens and external blinds are fitted to all windows and a smoke detector is also installed.

Location and surroundings of object

Our beautifully situated holiday home, with a direct view of Königstein Fortress, is in a quiet location on the outskirts of Thürmsdorf.
Here you can unwind and relax in the almost unspoilt natural surroundings. If you want to visit Saxon Switzerland and explore it on foot, you've come to the right place. The famous Malerweg trail leads about 150 metres past the holiday home. You can therefore set off from the holiday home without a car or public transport. Many hikes and mountain climbs await you here and reward you with marvellous views. You can also explore the whole area by bike. The Elbe cycle path is approx. 800 metres away. You can cycle in the direction of the spa town of Rathen, Pirna and even to our state capital Dresden or you can cycle up the Elbe towards Königstein, through Bad Schandau and into our neighbouring country, the Czech Republic. You will definitely be able to visit many of Saxon Switzerland's sights along the way. Another highlight is a trip on the Elbe on one of the nine paddle steamers in the largest and oldest paddle steamer fleet in the world. The nearest White Fleet service point is in the town of Königstein, about 3 kilometres away. If you like, you can take a boat trip from there to the Terrassenufer in Dresden. If you are planning a visit to Dresden, which is approx. 35 km away, you should definitely book a city tour. During this approx. 1.5-hour trip, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about Dresden. A visit to the Frauenkirche, the Green Vault, the Semper Opera House and the Dresden Zwinger are just a small selection of the sights in our state capital. The town of Pirna, approx. 12 kilometres away, is also worth a visit. The wonderful old town with its historic market square, the Canaletto House and the many small shops and cafés are highly recommended. Our little village of Thürmsdorf is also very pretty to look at. We have a castle with a beautiful neighbouring park. It is well worth a walk. When you come back from your tour, pay a visit to the "chocolate factory" below the castle. A cool drink, coffee, cake and other treats await you there. There is also a bakery in the village with a very good selection of rolls, bread, biscuits and cakes. For lunch or dinner, we recommend a visit to the "Kleine Einkehr" restaurant. Great food with a view of Königstein Fortress. (approx. 800 m from the holiday home on the Elbe) A small selection of information material for further excursions and activities, whether on foot, by bike, by car or by public transport, is available for you to browse through in the house.

Great little holiday home

It is a small, lovely vacation home in a beautiful setting with nice hosts. We have already been to this vacation home for the third time, which says it all. After outings in the nearby area, we could relax with a view of the Königstein Fortress. The vacation home is equipped with everything one might need. The bakery in Thürmsdorf is incredible, from the selection to the prices. We felt very comfortable and wish the Göhler family good health, so that many more guests can enjoy this oasis of well-being.

Everything is great.

After the super nice reception by the hostess, we spent a few truly quiet days in the beautiful surroundings and nature of the small holiday home. Just the view of the Königstein and the daily breakfast on the terrace were great. We are absolutely satisfied and recommend the holiday home of the Göhler family without reservations. Vacation at its finest!

When the reception from the landlords is so warm and you are then guided through this small but incredibly charming little house, you know from the first minute... this will be a great vacation!
And that's exactly how it was. Those seeking nature and relaxation, but who do not want to forgo the comfort they're used to at home, are 100% in the right place here.
I certainly wasn't here for the last time.

Vacation with dog

We had a great vacation in a clean, beautiful, well-equipped holiday home. The location is very quiet and perfect for numerous excursions. The garden is fantastic with a view of Königstein Fortress and well fenced. Even the bed is comfortable. Super friendly landlords.
We would definitely recommend the holiday home and visit again.

Fascinating view of Königstein fortress. Cleanliness is highly valued here. Everything necessary for daily use is available. Central location to forest and city. Great bakery and butcher in town. Price-performance ratio is good here too. Hosts are very friendly. There is nothing to criticize. Always happy to return.

Central yet quiet in Thürmsdorf

The village of Thürmsdorf is 3 km away from Königstein.

From there there are good connections to the train network.
After arriving by car, we did all the excursions on foot or by e-bike.
The cottage is at the end of the village. From there you can get directly to the Maler hiking trail.
In the evenings, we enjoyed the peace and quiet on the terrace with a view of the Königstein fortress.

Shopping is possible in Königstein at Edeka. Bakery with a fun bread slide in Thürmsdorf

The cottage is small and nice
Everything is super clean and the small kitchen is well equipped
As tea drinkers, we had our own kettle "in the luggage
There is a lockable shed at the house for the bikes.

Beautiful holiday home with great views of Königstein Fortress

We spent wonderful vacation days with our dog Charly in the holiday house. The house is located in a beautiful area with a great view of the Königstein fortress, and in the evening when the fortress is illuminated, it's really amazing! It is very peaceful and you can relax wonderfully after a day full of excursions. The holiday house is small, but equipped with everything you need for a vacation. Thank you very much to the Göhler family for the beautiful vacation days in their holiday house.

Very clean

We were allowed to arrive with our 2 small dogs. The accommodation was very very clean. We lacked for nothing. It is perfectly furnished down to the smallest detail. My favourite part was the dishes with dots?. For 2 people travelling all day, the space is sufficient. In the mornings, it takes some organisational talent not to step on each other's toes. In the evening with a barbecue on the small terrace
and a view of the grandiose Königsstein Fortress, however, makes everything dreamy again. The bratwurst right from the local country butcher around the corner, just great. The people in the region are all very nice and you can get everywhere with the dogs.
