For the first time, but certainly not the last time.

After almost 20 years always staying with the same family in Bergen, who no longer rent out due to age reasons, we had to look for a new holiday accommodation and came across Helmlaantje. We got lucky with it.
Firstly, we would like to mention the nice and uncomplicated contact with Renate beforehand.
Upon arrival, we found a newly renovated house, furnished with love. It was super clean and we even found some things for daily use during the very friendly and warm welcome. There was also a small welcome greeting in the form of beer and wine, as well as a nut mix.
Renate and Ed kept checking if we had everything or if there was anything else they could do for us. But everything was top-notch from start to finish.
The location is great, less than 10 minutes to the beach, less than 5 minutes to the bakery and supermarket or the weekly market. The pedestrian zone and Pompplein with its restaurants are within "calling distance", and the entrance to the dune reserve is also within sight.
We had space to store our bikes, a quiet seating area with the possibility to barbecue with our own electric grill, and a digital parking card was also included.
We are already looking forward to our next summer vacation at Renate and Ed's place, which we have already booked. Hosts become friends…

Sweet "Tiny house".
Perfectly sufficient for 2 people! Maybe even with a small child. Very clean. Super friendly & sympathetic landlords. Own access and small courtyard with the possibility to barbecue. 10-12 minutes walk to the beach.

Tolle Unterkunft

Super nice and super clean, small but fine apartment. The location is great and the beach and shopping street are within walking distance. We had a great week in this beautiful holiday apartment. Everything is freshly renovated, everything necessary is available. For us, one of the most important things on vacation is a comfortable bed - we were not disappointed :-)

TOP Urlaub

Vacation-ready, we arrived in Egmond. Warmly welcomed. Immediately, the holiday feeling set in for us and our 8-year-old daughter. The sweet, very clean holiday cottage, lovingly furnished, made it all perfect. Everything you need is there! The beautiful terrace is like an additional room in the nice weather. One of the best Holland vacations we have had here!!! Anytime again.

Indescribably BEAUTIFUL

Everything is great!

We had two wonderful weeks at Renate and Ed's in Egmond aan Zee.
The house is very lovingly furnished and lacks nothing. In the vicinity, there are restaurants and supermarkets, and the beach is only a 5-minute walk away.
Renate and Ed are two very kind people, very sympathetic, and they take great care of their guests.

The landlords are very friendly and helpful: very nice!

Herrliche Sommerzeit

Happy to do it again

We felt very comfortable in this small, fine cottage!
Very nice hosts, good central location, everything within walking distance: town, beach, shopping facilities, etc.
Everything necessary is available in the house and lovingly prepared. (just one more sink in the bathroom, then it would be perfect, but that is supposed to come soon...)
Beautiful destinations in the area are easily accessible by bike, larger trips by car no problem.
We really enjoyed our time. And lucky with the weather too!

Ein schönes, gemütliches, klassisches Sommerhäuschen

We stayed for a week in this lovingly furnished cottage with 2 adults, 1 child, and 2 dogs. We didn't miss anything. On the contrary: we were positively surprised to find a good place for everyone and everything. The 3 beds are great, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the hallway & living area are modern and bright. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back. Beautiful autumn days

We were greeted very nicely, nothing was missing. We were welcomed with flowers and a bottle of Secco. A coloring book and pens were ready for our little one!
The house is lovingly furnished and has everything you need to relax.
The city center with its great shops is just a stone's throw away from the house, and the dunes or the beach are easily reachable on foot in no time! 100% chance of repeating.

Perfect starting point.

...for an outdoor vacation. The small cottage is very clean and decorated with attention to detail. The missing sink (which is planned to be retrofitted in autumn 2016) can certainly be overlooked. My daughter and I felt very comfortable and were totally thrilled by the very nice landlords :-)

Friendly hosts for successful holidays.

My wife and I spent a relaxed, happy week in the vacation rental. Thanks to the great weather, we were cycling or at the beach during the day, and the sleep problems we had at night were simply due to the century temperatures. German TV programs are available and the "charm" of Dutch architecture is spreading benevolently. The steep staircase to the bedroom is certainly suboptimal for disabled or elderly individuals. The price-performance ratio is right, and those who do not have exaggerated demands are well taken care of at Het Helmlaantje. We will come back!

All that glitters is not gold

If you are traveling with 3 people and appreciate having one person sleeping in a sort of passageway with a hatch for the stairs in front of the other 2 bedrooms, then this affordable holiday apartment is ideal. The same goes for 2 guests, like us, arriving as friends and considering a bit of privacy not as a luxury but as a necessity. For us, 2 bedrooms (which we were specifically looking for online!) are simply 2 rooms, nothing more and nothing less. If you like to wash in the kitchen over the sink after using the toilet and before going to bed, brushing your teeth, combing your hair... among onions and garlic, coffee and rolls, you are also well accommodated in this inexpensive holiday apartment. In fact, there is neither a sink nor a mirror in the "bathroom." Another tip: if you want to ventilate after showering, it works if you use a clothes hanger as an extension to open the high window. People smaller than 1.68 "tall" will still have their difficulties, as well as more corpulent individuals who may have trouble going in and out between the 2 doors (from the living room to the shower and from there to the toilet). In our opinion, suitable for a couple with 1 child in terms of sleeping arrangements. Regarding hygiene, it is up to each individual to decide if they want to deal with this situation. The shower itself was okay, there was always running hot water. For us, who have seen many vacation rentals, this one certainly is no longer an option.

Overall impression Egmond aan Zee and holiday apartment

We were in Egmond aan Zee for the first time last year with our dog. We first encountered very kind and nice landlords there. A very cozy furnished apartment was shown to us. The coziness was immediately noticeable. It was small, but that's exactly what we were looking for. We were completely satisfied. A week with beautiful weather, perfect. Our holiday destination will definitely be Egmond again this year. . . we are looking forward to it. The area is simply beautiful.
