Nordwestuckermark
and commissions
Description
Our cosy bungalow in the tranquil village of Fürstenwerder in the Uckermark is the perfect place to relax. In a wonderfully quiet location, you have a view of the Großer See lake from the elevated terrace and garden, and two bathing spots are less than 5 minutes' walk away. Here you can relax or spend an active holiday on and in the water, hiking or cycling along the nearby Uckermark cycle path. In the evenings, marvel at the sunset over the lake and light a fire in the fireplace to create the right feel-good atmosphere.
The location
The bungalow is located in the Hügelland bungalow estate, which is part of the village of Fürstenwerder. Fürstenwerder is located in Brandenburg's Uckermark region, right on the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The glacial terminal moraine landscape is characterised by a hilly landscape and many large and small lakes.
The village of Fürstenwerder
Fürstenwerder lies between the Großer See, also known as Wahrensee, and the Dammsee. The bungalow is located on the almost 4 km long Great Lake, whose northern and western shores form the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In the south-west of Fürstenwerder you will find a large wooded area, which is a nature reserve.
In the morning, you can pick up fresh bread rolls from the local organic bakery and marvel at the view of the lake and the 400-year-old 1.2 kilometre-long town wall on the nine-minute walk. Fürstenwerder is also within walking distance of a small supermarket, several restaurants and cafés, many local artists, a second-hand bookshop and an ice cream parlour. The idyllic Fürstenwerder town church stands on foundation walls dating back to the 13th century and is still worth a visit today.
The Nordwestuckermark and the Feldberg lake district
A trip to the surrounding villages is also recommended: around 15 kilometres away is Feldberg, in the middle of the beautiful Feldberg lake landscape. The hilly terminal moraine landscape offers many lakes, which you can either walk around on foot or cover on the water by boat or stand-up paddle board.
In Feldberg you will also find one of the last hand-operated cable ferries in Europe, which takes you across the Narrow Luzin. The Narrow Luzin is the clearest lake in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and you can still marvel at the aquatic plants and fish at a depth of 15 metres. In Carwitz, you can follow in the footsteps of Hans Fallada, a German writer whose novel "Little Man - What Now?" became a worldwide success in 1932.
Just 7 kilometres from Fürstenwerder you will find Woldegk - Woldegk is also known as "the windmill town" due to its six historic windmills. There is also a town wall from the 13th century to marvel at in Woldegk.
The next larger town, Prenzlau, can be reached by car in around 25 minutes. Prenzlau also offers a number of sights such as the Gothic St Mary's Church, beautiful town parks and - of course - a lake: Unteruckersee, which is the largest lake in the Uckermark. In Prenzlau you will also find the nearest railway station and a small shopping area where you can go for a stroll.
In general, you can spend a holiday in pure idyll in the surrounding area - with pure nature! Observe large herds of fallow deer, majestic white-tailed eagles or colourful kingfishers, to name just a few representatives of the local wildlife. During the rutting season, you can even hear the roaring deer on the terrace in the evening. The local flora should not be ignored either, in the "Heilige Hallen" beech forest you will find impressive beech trees up to 350 years old.
The bungalow
The bungalow offers you an open-plan living/dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, a shower room and a cosy bedroom. On the large terrace you can enjoy the sun almost all day long and let your gaze wander into the distance. You can also relax in the large garden or let your four-legged friend run around. There is also a parking space for your car right next to the bungalow.
The rental price includes bed linen, towels, firewood, electricity and water consumption. An additional €50.00 is payable for the final cleaning.
