Description
The Ploen water tower has been one of the defining structures of the county town in Holstein Switzerland since 1913. After it was no longer needed for the city's water supply, it was converted into a comfortable single-family home on a stick with style within two years. This use has been in place since 1985 and received broad and positive press coverage nationwide. This included a TV report in which this residence was presented as a super home. Among other reports, Bild am Sonntag featured it on a double-page spread, and other newspapers and magazines also published detailed articles.
As the owners wish to share this experience, this residence can be rented as a unique and extraordinary holiday home, offering an attractive vacation experience throughout the year. The water tower is not suitable for children under 10 years.
The Plön Water Tower was renovated in 2017/2018. Five residential levels are located in the upper tower area. An elevator is available, but it stops before the living area. The circular walkway with its unique view is a special attraction.
A bedroom with a double bed and two wardrobes. From the bedroom, there is direct access to a small shower room. Another sleeping option is on the mezzanine (gallery) with two single beds. Comfortably equipped kitchen with dining table, fridge and freezer, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, stove, oven, and microwave. The view of Lake Plön during meals is indescribable.
In the living area, color TV with DVD player and a radio with CD. WLAN internet and flat-rate telephone for the German landline network.

Location and surroundings of object
Water and nature lovers feel particularly at home in the charming district town of Plön with its idyllic old town: the town lies in the heart of Holstein Switzerland and is overlooked by a castle. Of the town's 3,600 hectares, 2.80 hectares are water areas alone. That's eleven lakes belonging to the town and five more lakes bordering on it. Plön is also an ideal starting point for discovering the sights of Schleswig-Holstein: Just 30 kilometres away to the north and east are the attractive sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea coast. If you are looking for some city flair, the state capital Kiel (25 km), Lübeck (45 km) or Hamburg (80 km) are within easy reach. But there is also plenty to see, experience and discover in the surrounding area.
Leisure tips for Plön
With its location in the centre of the Holstein Lake District and its proximity to the Baltic Sea, Plön naturally offers a wide range of water sports. The water with its natural beauty can of course also be explored passively with a wide range of excursions. But "landlubbers" also get their money's worth: cycling, golfing, hiking and Nordic walking are all on offer. Culture is not neglected either. Plön itself attracts visitors with a castle area that is one of the most beautiful in the country. Lovingly restored historic buildings and shady avenues can be explored and enjoyed in tranquil peace. The historic old town centre is livelier and invites you to stroll around with its small streets and a large selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.

Vacation in Plön
Anyone who wants to do something extraordinary should spend a vacation in the Plön Water Tower. A holiday apartment of a special kind, a tastefully furnished apartment, a top-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cater for yourself. A great panoramic view over Plön and the lake.
