... the state-recognised climatic health resort and climatic health resort on the southern slopes of the Harz Mountains.
Surrounded by colourful mixed forests, enjoy the benefits of our holiday home in a central location in picturesque Neustadt/Harztor at the foot of the Hohnstein castle ruins. Are you looking for peace and relaxation in nature, do you want to explore the secrets of the legendary Harz mountains on foot or by bike?
Then you've come to the right place.
Whether as a family, with friends or as a couple, our lovingly and modernly furnished holiday home offers 130 m² of living space for up to 6 people.
Our light-flooded house welcomes you in the entrance area with a cloakroom and leads you through the hallway into the living and dining area, which is flooded with bright daylight.
Here, a living area with space for all guests invites you to linger.
Let your gaze glide through a 4m-wide sliding door onto the terrace and garden, while a fireplace with glass on three sides provides cosy warmth.
There is also plenty of space in the dining area, where another wide window front creates a bright atmosphere and lets the sun shine on you at breakfast.

Then you will find everything you need in our open-plan kitchen with high-quality Bosch built-in appliances to give free rein to your ideas when cooking together.
A real wood staircase takes you to the upper floor with its 3 bedrooms.
The spacious bedrooms have modern furnishings and are each equipped with a double bed with high-quality slatted frames and mattresses.
If you wish, an additional cot ensures that even our youngest guests feel at home.
There are two separate bathrooms with WC, shower and washbasin.
The bathroom on the upper floor also has a bathtub.
The house was completed in December 2023 and is equipped with a modern air source heat pump and underfloor heating.
There is a washing machine with integrated tumble dryer in the utility room and Wi-Fi is of course available.
There is a garage next to the house where you can safely store your bikes, motorbikes, skis or other items.

Then why not relax on our 60 m² terrace or enjoy the great climate in the garden, which welcomes you with many beautiful plants and trees!
The garden is laid out on 3 levels, offering you plenty of space to relax!

On the top garden terrace, a wonderful seating area made of Douglas fir invites you to barbecue, relax and enjoy yourself.

Whether it's a trip to the Hohenstein castle ruins, the Neustadt dam, the wooden railway or the sequoia tree, lingering in the spa gardens or at the gondola pond, visiting the Kneipp treading pool, extensive hikes or mountain bike tours, a trip on the narrow-gauge railway, a visit to the golf course or the forest pool, Neustadt has something for everyone!
But you can also reach all the other sights and excursion destinations in the Harz Mountains from here in a short time!
Whether by car, bus, the Harz narrow-gauge railway, motorbike or bicycle, or simply on foot.
The Harz offers endless possibilities, whether active or more leisurely, whether summer or winter, sunshine or bad weather.
We are happy to help you plan excursions or sporting activities such as mountain biking or trail running!
Our younger guests will find two playgrounds and a forest pool in Neustadt, and those who wish can even get to know the communities in the Harztor with an extra stamp booklet for children.
Even in bad weather, the kids will have fun at Happylino in Niedersachswerfen, for example.

Neustadt is a beautiful spa town in the southern Harz Mountains that has everything you need for a great time out!
A beautiful town centre, two parks, a gondola pond, a forest pool, Hohnstein Castle, wonderful paths around the mountains right next to the town and much more.
Or you can enjoy your time in the beautiful green nature, here no bark beetle has destroyed the marvellous mixed forest!
Neustadt itself has a bakery with a café, a snack bar, a restaurant with a beer garden, a restaurant with an ice cream parlour and cakes as well as the castle restaurant at Hohnstein Castle.
You can also obtain further information from the tourist information centre of the municipality of Neustadt.

Fantastic house
In short: a fantastic house. Very spacious and fully equipped. Behind it is a beautiful terrace and a large, beautifully landscaped garden. Many walks are possible directly from the house, and the area offers numerous opportunities for nice day trips. Several restaurants are easily accessible. Groceries are just a short drive away.

Komfortables und modernes Ferienhaus für einen entspannten Familienurlaub
Wir haben unseren Familienurlaub mit 2 Kindern im Ferienhaus Südharz sehr genossen. Die ruhige Lage ist perfekt für Wanderungen und zahlreiche Ausflüge ins Umland. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Uns hat es an (fast) nichts gefehlt.
Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern war freundlich und unkompliziert. Wir können dieses Haus wärmstens empfehlen!

Plenty of space to relax
We had a relaxing week in this very beautiful, spacious, and modern holiday home. The amenities leave nothing to be desired. We felt very comfortable. The house is a good starting point for activities of all kinds. The landlords, with their open and friendly manner, ensured uncomplicated and smooth processes for the organizational matters and provided good tips for excursions.

An unforgettable family vacation in Neustadt in the Harz – absolutely recommended!
Our family vacation in Neustadt in the Harz was a very special experience – for us as parents, but especially for our two children (4 and 7 years old). Rarely have we felt so comfortable and welcomed in a holiday accommodation.
The holiday home far exceeded our expectations: lovingly furnished, thoughtfully equipped, and in impeccable, well-maintained condition. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful garden with a copper pear tree – a little discovery that excited our children (it tastes like a mini plum!). A real highlight was also the coffee machine – such a small luxury that we hadn't had on any vacation before!
The host family was extremely friendly, helpful, and always available with great excursion tips. Especially pleasant: Individual requests were addressed immediately – it made us feel truly welcome.
Another plus: The garage could be used – ideal for bicycles, carriers, or even motorcycles. Who has access to a garage on vacation? For us, it was a first!
The region itself is a paradise for families. In Neustadt and the surrounding area, there are numerous excursion destinations – whether by car, bicycle, or on foot. We would especially like to recommend the Rabensteiner Stollen: An exciting ride with the mine train into the mountain – an adventure for children and simultaneously informative and interesting for adults. Also a hidden gem: the Wildbad with its spring water supply – quiet, close to nature, and not overcrowded.
Culinarily, you will also find plenty to enjoy in the area: There are many family-friendly dining options that perfectly round off the day. Larger highlights such as the Brocken, Bad Harzburg, or the Torfhaus can be comfortably reached in about 45 minutes by car – ideal for day trips with children.
Conclusion: We will come back!

Vacation with children
We really enjoyed our stay at the holiday home in Südharz. It was very clean and modernly furnished. Nothing was missing. The location is quiet, and our children had plenty of space to play on the property.
