Gite de charme 2/7 pers. Rénové en 2011, à Birkenwald, petit village typique d'Alsace du Nord (frontière des Vosges du Nord, à 35km de Strasbourg), réputé pour son château, son parc à cerfs, et ses deux restaurants appréciés of connaisseurs.

ENVIRONNEMENT:
Le gîte se situe sur un terrain privé de 60 ares (forêt et sentiers BALISES à seulement 200m).
LA MAISON:
Le gîte se trouve dans une aile d'une vieille maison alsacienne restaurée début 2011. Nous avons tenu à conserver tout le charme of poutres apparentes et des murs en torchis peints à la chaux, tout en y apportant la touche de modernité indispensable au bien- être de nos hôtes.
Tous commerces à 5 km dans le village de Marmoutier et 11 km de Saverne

Feeling good with tranquility and yet plenty to discover
We (family with three children) felt very comfortable in the lovingly furnished and stylish little house! Super quiet location, great starting point to discover the numerous sights around Saverne. Here there are both countless old castles (e.g. Le Haute-Bar, Grand Geroldseck...) as well as technical attractions like a boat lift and a reinstalled telegraph with a museum. The organ museum in Marmoutier, the waterfalls and castle of Niedeck, and the off-road park near Saverne for off-road drivers were exciting destinations. Last but not least, our very friendly host Mr. Ring and the nature-close accommodation with breakfast on the terrace perfectly rounded off this wonderfully relaxing holiday - highly recommended!

Very cozy accommodation
The beautifully renovated house is a good starting point for small hikes in the nearby forest area. The terrace in the back is diversely planted and cozy. Mr. Ring is always approachable and takes very good care of the tenants. The offered bread roll service is also very pleasant.

Serenity, nature, and relaxation
A week of peaceful rest in Matthieu's lovely house. Everything was well organized for relaxation: a private outdoor space to enjoy the sun, a house where everyone had their independence! Our host gave us advice on the area and nearby walks. Every morning, bread and pastries were delivered just a few minutes' walk from the house. Hiking trails are directly accessible from the house. Thank you for this wonderful week, we will gladly come back.

2 Couples holiday
Very nicely renovated, quietly situated, old cottage with enough space for 6 people
Mr. Ring speaks very good German, is extremely friendly and open-minded.
The baguettes etc. in the morning, from Tuesday to Sunday, are not delivered directly to the front door, but a short walk in the morning is in this quiet place

We stayed for 1 week in temperatures of around 30 degrees and felt very comfortable.

wie ich Sie in unserem E-Mail-Austausch bezüglich Ihrer Note 2 für die Lage (die Sie der Tatsache gaben, dass man jeden Tag das Auto nehmen muss) darauf hingewiesen habe, ist es logisch, dass man, wenn man die Gegend erkunden will und eine Unterkunft auf dem Land wählt, zwingend das Fahrzeug nehmen muss, um sich fortzubewegen. Wir befinden uns in einem kleinen Dorf und es gibt keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (außer einem Weinhändler und der Brotlieferung sowie den beiden Restaurants).
wir freuen uns, die abgesehen von dieser Tatsache, dass Sie einen guten Aufenthalt bei uns hatten.

Charming house!
Matthieu is a wonderful host! Very attentive with the breads for breakfast and if there is a problem, he'll respond quickly.
The house is very clean, the bed sheets and towels too. It is fully equipped and everything you need is there. There is plenty of space because there are 3 bedrooms and you have 2 different terraces outside, very nice.
The surroundings are very beautiful and peaceful; a forest just around the corner! And Saverne, Strassbourg, Kaysersberg: lovely!
The ceilings are not that high, as it is a very old building. So mind your head :-)

Former sommelier and manager of a cellar in the village, I would be happy to direct you to the center of interest, leisure and wine of the region. Evening table d'hote (pie outbreak and Alsace wine tasting) in next summer weather.
