Friendly furnished holiday home (on the owner's residential property) away from traffic and settlements surrounded by forests and meadows (distance to the next human settlement 800 m, to the village of Steinölsa approx. 2 km). Enjoy the peace and quiet on the covered terrace under old trees, end the day after a hike through the lonely forests and wide meadows by the fire under the stars. On cool days, the wood-burning stove in the kitchen-living room spreads cosy warmth.
Living room with sofa bed, satellite TV, CD player, patio door, 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each, fully equipped kitchen with wood-burning cooker, electric oven, microwave, coffee machine, kettle. Shower and WC, spacious hallway and vestibule. Outdoor seating with barbecue and fireplace (wood free of charge).
Also: Shepherd's caravan for 2-3 pers. with covered outdoor seating area, mini kitchen, wood stove, fireplace. Refrigerator, shower and WC approx. 50 m away. (39 €/overnight stay, 15 € final cleaning, dogs are not allowed here)

Location and surroundings of object
Far away from traffic and settlements, the Birkenhof holiday home is located in the middle of forests and meadows of the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve on the owner's residential property. Apart from us, there are a few horses, two (friendly) dogs, a lazy cat, a couple of hens and a rooster. In addition to the house and the holiday home, there is a horse stable and other outbuildings on the property. But everything is so spacious that you can enjoy your holiday undisturbed.
The Birkenhof is easily accessible by car. The nearest railway station is in Mücka (then about 5 km through the forest)
Steinölsa is a village with 150 inhabitants at the foot of the Hohe Dubrau mountain range in the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve. Varied walks through endless forests, half-forgotten villages and the typical heath here. Well-developed network of cycle paths, wonderful trails for relaxed horseback riding. At the many ponds, with a bit of luck, you can observe birds that have become rare elsewhere: Cranes, white-tailed eagles, kingfishers - even black terns have been sighted.
Traditional hiking areas such as the Zittau Mountains, the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains are within easy reach. The historic old towns of Görlitz and Bautzen are each about 30 km away, Dresden is a good hour's drive. Shopping and refreshment facilities within 3-10 km.
