Location and surroundings of object
Saint-Quay-portrieux is located in the bay of Saint Brieuc in the Côtes d'Armor. The coast of Saint-Quay-Portrieux, called Côte du Goëlo, extends from Saint-Brieuc to Paimpol further north, facing the archipelago of Bréhat. On these same coasts and a few kilometres from Saint-Quay Portrieux is the commune of Plouha, on the coast of which stand the highest cliffs in Brittany, reaching 104 metres above sea level.
Saint-Quay Portrieux is a city with a rich maritime heritage. It offers many activities: cruises on a catamaran, kayaking, excursions to Bréhat, old rigging, kayaks..
Let yourself wander through the narrow streets, discovering the many sights. Near your gîte:
The church of Saint-Quay, the chapel of Sainte-Anne de Portrieux.
The chapel Notre-Dame de la Garde de Kertugal and its ex-voto. The first chapel on this site dedicated to Saint Roch was destroyed in 1800. The present chapel was built in 182858.
The Tertre manor, 16th century, former residence of the Jehannot de Penquer family [ref. needed].
The semaphore, built around 1860. In order to prevent any enemy invasion, the Romans had already installed a watchtower on the Pointe du Sémaphore. Ideally placed in a place where the coast can be watched over tens of leagues, this building became a customs officer's hut and disappeared at the beginning of the 18th century. The first semaphore was built in 1860 and the present building was erected in 1986. From this point overlooking the sea at an altitude of 100 metres, the whole of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc can be seen. On a clear day, the view is almost 180 degrees from Cap d'Erquy to the archipelago of Bréhat.
The windmills: the streams supplied energy to the watermills throughout the country. Some dry summers dried up these streams, and other means had to be found. Thus, as all along this windswept coast, several mills were built on the heights. The Saint-Michel mill produced grain flour until 1900.
Several washhouses still bear witness to the life of women in the past.
The Saint-Quay fountain (or Saint-Ké fountain), a fountain situated on the site of a spring created according to tradition by the Virgin Mary
For the gourmets, Saint-Quay-Portrieux is the capital of the Saint Jacques. You can taste it from October to the end of April.

Mrs. M. NAGY
After a life in Paris in the restaurant business, we dreamed of Brittany and the seaside. With my husband Pascal and our 3 daughters Amandine, Julie and Charlotte, we chose the village of Kerégal, a few metres from the beach. From the old farmhouse, 3 gîtes opened. Later on, other gites and holiday homes were added. On your arrival, we will be there to welcome you and give you the key to your holiday home. We will give you a folder with all the technical (markets, supermarkets...) and tourist information to make the most of your stay.
