Description

About the accommodation
Our holiday home is an old farmhouse that has been in the family for many generations. It has been renovated with a lot of heart and soul, only the outside facade is not finished yet.
Inside, however, everything is ready for you: a new bathroom / WC, a new kitchen, new beds and mattresses, freshly restored furniture etc. (see photos).
Our accommodation is suitable for allergy sufferers (no pets, equipped with appropriate mattresses and bed linen).

Ground floor
Through the hall you reach the cosy living room with couch, sitting area, TV and tiled stove. Next door is the well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, oven, wood-burning cooker and dining area. Behind it is the small bathroom with walk-in shower and a separate WC.

Upper floor
Here are the 3 bedrooms: bedroom 1 with a double bed (2 x 2 m), bedroom 2 with two single beds (1 x 2 m - can also be pushed together to form a double bed), bedroom 3 with a pull-out guest bed (0.90 x 2 m).

Outside
There is a small garden with seating, in the warm months also with the possibility to barbecue.
There is a safe place to store your bicycles.
There is parking space for 2 cars in front of the house.

Location and surroundings of object

The village of Schienen is situated on the Schienerberg (600 m N.N.), which is something you should bear in mind, especially if you are arriving by bicycle. The arrival is via an approx. 5 km long, very well built serpentine road.
Our holiday home is located in a quiet street on the outskirts of the village, directly next to the forest. From here you can directly go for beautiful walks, short hikes or bike tours. A bike park starts only a few hundred metres away.
An interesting address for horse lovers is the Curly Ranch in the village. In addition to riding lessons, it also offers alpaca hikes.
The Falconera in Schienen invites friends of upscale cuisine to stay.
There is also a small cooperative shop in the village for daily needs.

additional information about rental price:

The rental price does not include the visitor's tax. It amounts to € 1.70 per person (from 15 years) and day of stay in the high season (01.04. - 30.10.) and € 1.20 in the low season (01.11. - 31.03.) and is to be paid on site.

Cancellation terms:

  • You will be refunded the booking amount minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 4 days before the planned check-in until 12 o’clock CET (Central European time). For cancellations which are made less than 4 days before check-in, you will be refunded 50% of the booking amount minus the price for the first night and the cancellation fee.

Other important info
Our house is newly renovated, but it remains an old building. Please note that the room height in the upper rooms is only about 2 m in some parts. In addition, the house is certainly more sensitive to light than a new building.
The bathroom is located - as is not unusual in old houses - on the ground floor behind the kitchen.

The house is equipped with a radiator in every room (central heating) - except in the kitchen. Here a new wood cooker quickly provides a pleasant warmth. Of course, we provide the wood needed for this.

The mobile phone network in our mountain village has only limited coverage. You get a good connection with the Telekom network (D1). There is no connection via Vodafone and O2.
However, you can use WLAN free of charge in the house - also for WLAN telephone.
