Our first vacation. It was wonderful.

We arrived after a long journey in perfect weather and instantly felt at home. The children immediately ran around the large garden property. It is bordered by many bushes and trees and is very quiet.

The holiday house is very rustic and simply cozy. Everything you need is there. Without too much frills. As a welcome, Helli (the landlord) put a very delicious strawberry cake in the fridge for us. It is also worth mentioning the pleasant and always helpful communication with Helli.

The area, and especially the nearby beach, is very beautiful and rarely visited. One has a great view of the sea and the impressive Storebelt Bridge.

On Zealand itself, there is much to discover. Notable mentions include the Viking site Trelleborg, the Labyrinth Park Kalvehave, the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, and the Røsnæs Lighthouse in Kalundborg. There is still much more. There are plenty of shopping opportunities in the area.

The people are friendly and the weather is very pleasant. Lots of sun, wind, and a bit of rain. Never too hot.

All in all, great 2 weeks in beautiful Denmark. Unfortunately too short.

Would love to do it again!

A True Dream

The Metsola left nothing to be desired - we had a great base for our little family along with a dog in an unbeatable location:

- Beaches everywhere, some 5 minutes' walk away
- Idyllic quiet location with a huge garden: we were even visited by a deer! - Affordable shopping options
- The nearby Slagelse is also a lovely town
- Copenhagen is just an hour away and absolutely worth at least one visit
- The Danes are incredibly nice and relaxed

Insider tip: Café & Bar Bonanza in Vemmelev

And as an absolute luxury, the Metsola has a sauna!

We will definitely come back.

Denmark Vacation

Rustically furnished holiday home in a quiet location. A good starting point for beach visits and excursions in stunning natural surroundings. Unfortunately, we had to clean upon our arrival. The cleanliness, especially in the kitchen, was lacking.

First holiday in Denmark and directly in love

It was a wonderful 2 weeks on our first holiday in Denmark and we fell in love with the country straight away.
The holiday home is quaint and has everything you need, including air conditioning.
The large property invites you to relax. It is in an absolutely quiet location
The beach is within walking distance. And from there you have a wonderful view of the Storebælt bridge. The beaches are very clean and sparsely frequented
Copenhagen, the cliffs and the Bonbon Land were easy to reach by car on day trips. Visits to the Viking castles, fortresses, museums etc. on Zealand are also very interesting.
Shopping facilities are easy to reach on foot or in the surrounding area by car.
We will definitely come back to Denmark.

Danish Delight

We rented this house last year, way before the Corona Crisis and were very happy to have come nevertheless for three weeks of undisturbed Danish bliss: natural beaches, sunshine and a Scandinavian 'hygge' feeling. The holiday cabin offers everything you need for a relaxed family vacation- lots of space, a wonderful wild garden, games, needed amenities, bikes to get around and (cultural) sights nearby. Helli, the owner, is a wonderful host, friendly, quick to respond and to help with her guests' questions and demands (in our case a bike seat for our 3-year old son, as well as a stroller). This rustic log cabin has lots of history, is cozy inside, the grown-in, private garden is large and offers plenty of space to do yoga, play ball games or just relax in a hammock. We also loved the authentic, Finnish sauna, some modern, Scandinavian design touches, the closeness to the beach and the overall laid-back atmosphere. One thing we were missing was a larger and maybe built-in bed in the master bedroom, as it is very narrow, 1.4m, even for two adults as small as we are. Overall, a lovely, long experience and we surely will travel back to Denmark, to explore this quiet country some more!

Perfect holiday home to relax in

The holiday home is quietly located in a holiday home settlement. It is equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday close to the sea. The sauna and fireplace add to the cosiness. Walking or cycling is possible here. Sufficient bicycles and sleeping accommodations for max. 6 persons are available. The contact with the landlords is very pleasant and nice. Experience Denmark

We felt very comfortable in the wooden log cabin. Especially the garden was beautiful and big. The beach was a 5-minute walk away
The bicycles available were very much used to explore the surrounding area. By car we went to Roskilde, Roesnaes, Holbaek, Malmö/Sweden and Copenhagen etc.

So wonderfully cozy and quiet

We were very happy in this house with five of us (2 adults, 2 children - 5 years and 6 years old - and 1 baby - 10 months old). The house is very cozy thanks to the beautiful fireplace and the great furnishings. Everything was very clean and we didn't miss anything in terms of furnishings (including the kitchen).
The garden was very well maintained and the children loved playing among the trees or swinging on the hammocks. The bicycles of various sizes that were available were also used frequently. We were all able to relax wonderfully!
We are all thrilled and the memories from this vacation still bring a smile to all of our faces today!!!

Beautiful days

A very lovingly furnished house, the beach 7 minutes on foot, many small and large places with small museums. Shopping possibility also about 5 minutes on foot. Beautiful garden, hardly visible. Good internet if needed. Sun loungers - seating options, a well-equipped kitchen. Probably not the last time we visited this house.

pure relaxation

Cozy, lovingly designed house with beautifully overgrown garden invites you to a relaxing vacation. In and around the house, there is everything you need. The most valuable things for our family were: sauna, bicycles, games, hammocks, and seating/lounging areas in the garden, great kitchen equipment, proximity to the beach. We didn't miss anything and can really highly recommend the house.

great and cozy holiday home

We had a wonderful time in this super cozy and lovingly furnished holiday home! You can absolutely relax in the overgrown and well-kept garden and enjoy your privacy. Nevertheless, everything is within walking distance and easily accessible (sea, grocery store). The house itself has everything you need, even bicycles and a grill.

Recreation in the holiday home

Beautiful log house with a large well-kept garden and a nice terrace. The house is located in a holiday home settlement near the beach (about 5 minutes to the beach), supermarket is also easy to reach. The equipment is very good, kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, freezer, satellite reception with German channels, DVD player, DVDs, sauna, bicycles - more than you can expect. The bedrooms are a bit small, but for the price it is worth it. Overall, a very nice week, I would come back.
