Falkenstein Holiday Park:
With a view of the castle, which dates back to the 11th century, the Falkenstein holiday park is terraced on the edge of the forest. This location, which is also car-free, makes the park particularly attractive for families with children. Car drivers are assured that there are of course parking spaces available in the immediate vicinity. Here your offspring can also play without you.
In just ten minutes' walk you have reached the town of Falkenstein, where you will find everything that keeps body and soul together.
The reception is located in the middle of the grounds, so you always have a contact person on site. Here you can get all the important information about events in and around Falkenstein.
Falkenstein is a picturesque, state-recognised climatic health resort, surrounded by beautiful, wooded countryside and overlooked by a stately castle that once belonged to the Princes Thurn und Taxis. The town itself has 1700 inhabitants, as a market town 3300, and is the seat of an administrative community. All important utilities and service providers are present.
Every year, Falkenstein attracts thousands of holidaymakers and day trippers. In addition to the castle with its integrated museum "Hunting, Game and Native Wildlife", the annual Burghofspiele and the cultural summer, the castle park - the second largest nature and rock park in Bavaria - or the former railway embankment in the direction of Regensburg, which has been converted into a cycle path and is used as a cross-country ski trail in winter, are other attractions.
Falkenstein also offers a picturesque market square with historic town hall, an outdoor adventure pool with beach volleyball court, wide water slide and miniature golf course, as well as a Kneipp facility. Equally inviting are the market's international gastronomy and hospitable hotels. An extensive network of hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks as well as the possibility of fishing, shooting, playing tennis and skiing round off the offer.
