Light-flooded and tastefully furnished holiday flat on the entrance floor of the Alte Landschule Rodholz
The holiday flat consists of a large room, which is divided into a living and dining area with a pull-out couch and an open, fully equipped kitchen, as well as a sleeping area with a double bed (160cm). Adjacent to the flat is a large wooden terrace, which leads directly into the natural garden with open plot to the landscape and where you can enjoy the peace and quiet as well as the midday and evening sun with the sound of the brook. The separate bathroom has a shower, toilet and washbasin.
The kitchen has a ceramic hob with 2 cooking plates as well as complete equipment for cooking and eating. The refrigerator includes a freezer compartment.

The property with an open spacious plot is situated in an idyllic outdoor location with a stream, fish pond, colourful flower meadows and close to the forest, in the middle of the Rhön biosphere reserve. From the flat and the outdoor area you can enjoy the unspoilt view of the Rhön mountains (including Pferdskopf). The Guckaisee is a 30-minute walk away. The former country school building was completely rebuilt and renovated in 2004.

Great house in a beautiful location
Exceptionally tastefully furnished architect-designed apartment. Great starting point for hikes and within walking distance from Poppenhausen, making arrival by public transport possible. We would gladly return. :)

Sport holidays at Pferdskopf.
Quiet location, great landscape, clean and stylishly furnished, accommodating landlady. We felt very comfortable.

Recreation in the Rhön
We had wonderful relaxing days in the Rhön.
The Landschule in Rodholz is something very special. The flat is tastefully furnished and the sauna right next to the bathroom is a real plus.
The quiet idyllic location and the nature on the doorstep, offers many possibilities. Our highlight was the hike from theWasserkuppe over the Pferdskopf back home.
There are shopping facilities directly in the village.
The booking was uncomplicated and the contact with Mrs. Bub was very friendly and obliging.
You can feel that the house is close to her heart and also the well-being of the guests.
Always happy to come back!

Winter short break
We came across the Rhön as a short holiday destination by chance and did everything right with our stay in Mrs Bub's apartment.
The flat is cosy and interestingly furnished and we immediately felt at home.
We liked the location just outside of Poppenhausen very much and spent a few quiet winter days there.
A hiking trail starts right outside the front door to the Guckaisee, among other places, and we used public transport from Poppenhausen for our trip to the Wasserkuppe.
We only met Mrs. Bub in person for a short time, but she was available via email and Whatsapp and always helpful.
We will definitely come back when we feel like snow..... In summer we are on the road with our camper.....

Perfect secluded short break at the Old School
My boyfriend and I spent a relaxing short holiday at the idyllically located Old School in mid-November
The contact with Mrs. Bub was very cordial from the beginning. She was very accommodating and concerned about our well-being, always answered very quickly and is super organised. As she grew up in the area, she had good tips for all matters, whether it was planning the day or where to find the best cake.
We had actually fallen for the flat on the ground floor, but followed her recommendation that it would be more practical with our dog in the lower flat, which was confirmed. Our dog was thrilled to be able to rush through the patio door directly onto the large meadow and let off steam. For us city dwellers, this was also an extra plus on our relaxation scale.
We were also more than satisfied with our decision. The flat is well thought out through and through, very lovingly furnished and thanks to the many light sources we were able to make it very cosy and atmospheric in the evening. There is a lot of storage space, so we were able to put all our things away and fully enjoy the ambience.
Although the kitchen seems small, we were able to prepare a delicious meal every evening. Everything was available. What pleased me most was the small selection of spices, coffee, tea, vinegar and oil. Some flats are 'naked' in this respect.
As it did get quite chilly in the evening, we also took advantage of the sauna on offer. After each session, we sat on the terrace, looked up at the starry sky with the Milky Way and even saw shooting stars.
We went on a few hikes: up to the Pferdskopf, to the Wasserkuppe, to the Kaskadenschlucht and of course to the Guckaisee and since we haven't seen everything yet, we will definitely come back to the Alte Schule!!!!
