Holiday in the biosphere reserve - guaranteed peace

We were there with our 10 and 7-year-old sons during the Pentecost break. Conclusion: We returned to Berlin feeling deeply relaxed. We made great nature observations like rainbows, ant battles, and buzzard flights. In addition, the surroundings offer day trips such as the Templin Nature Spa or the Schorfheide Wildlife Park. Fishing is possible after a short hike at Lake Lübbesee, fishing permits can be obtained in Templin. Shopping is possible in Templin or Mildenberg - a car is necessary for this. All in all, a completely successful stay. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Jousten!

Cows and cranes, deer and ravens, silence and stars.

Time seems to stand still here. The tranquility forces one to switch off and do nothing. For us, these experiences were soothing and refreshing, as well as welcomed contrasts to the hustle and bustle of Berlin city life. There are plenty of hiking destinations and trails, as well as a swimming area at the nearby Lübbesee. From the balcony, we observed cows and cranes, deer and ravens, and even a wild boar family. This is where fox and hare say good night. The starry sky is a special experience. It gives us an idea that the Earth is just a tiny speck of light among countless stars. The absence of a television enhanced the relaxation value, and the lack of a dishwasher forced us to fairly divide work in the kitchen (cooking and washing dishes). The apartment is bright, friendly, and has a large balcony with a view stretching for miles over a very large meadow. The furnishings are sufficient and practical, and the compact radio connects us to the vast world out there. The unordered subscription newspaper was brought by the postwoman and was a welcome read, with plenty of time and tranquility available. Contact with the friendly landlords was very pleasant and constructive. We would love to come back!

Feel-good apartment ;-)

We felt really comfortable in this holiday apartment. We were right IN THE MIDDLE of the Uckermark, meaning right in the middle of nature. The apartment was perfect for holidaymakers seeking relaxation like us. From the cozy large wooden terrace, you can observe nature or simply sunbathe. The apartment itself is beautifully renovated with a rustic flair. The cleanliness of the entire apartment is unparalleled. There is an old treehouse for the children, which was constantly occupied by our kids. Otherwise, within a few steps from the vacation rental, there are opportunities for exploring the forest with children. The garden can also be used (e.g. for a picnic...?). The landlords were very nice and open-minded, had good excursion tips for us, and were very fond of children. The price-performance ratio is excellent. From us, there are 4 out of 5 stars, we will definitely keep the apartment in mind for our next Uckermark holiday.

Beautiful apartment with minor flaws.

The apartment is very nicely located in a small settlement outside the village and is easily accessible following the landlord's very good description. The last meters to the apartment lead over a dirt road (the settlement is not accessible otherwise) to a very beautifully located house, on the first floor of which the apartment is located (the landlord lives in the rooms on the ground floor). The view from the glass front of the large living room / kitchen area is wonderful, just nature all around. The apartment is nicely furnished, the two bedrooms remain cool even on hot days, which doesn't quite apply to the living-kitchen area. There are no insect screens, which on the humid hot days we were there forces you to choose between opening the windows to ventilate and enduring the millions of mosquitoes or tolerating the heat, as the apartment heats up quite a bit due to the glass front and the roof. In this case, insect screens and blinds would work wonders. The kitchen is very practical and fully equipped, everything is available. Unfortunately, for cooking, one has to resort to bottled water because the water available in the apartment is NOT suitable for drinking water according to the landlord's note. According to his statement, it is groundwater from the first layer and unfortunately smells and tastes very strongly of iron / iron oxide. In our opinion, this should be improved by appropriate filter systems, as even brushing teeth, showering, etc. requires better water quality. It is not possible without the strong smell of iron and not everyone's cup of tea. One last small criticism is that there is no internet available from the landlord that one could use. This is fatal insofar as even the internet possible through the phone is limited to the painfully slow EDGE and often fails completely due to the location. This is of course not the fault of the landlord, but a handicap that could be remedied. Conclusion: Actually a great vacation rental with a very friendly landlord, and maybe the above-mentioned shortcomings could be addressed (or at least indicated in the vacation rental description).

Schön und ruhig

The holiday apartment delivers what it promises. You can sit on the terrace for hours and stare into the distance. Occasionally, you hear a combine harvester, but mostly it is absolutely quiet except for the cries of cranes and occasionally (at dusk) a wild boar grunt in the pasture - at a safe distance. Even the few surrounding houses disappear behind trees. In hot weather, a canopy is available, but you can also find a cooler, shady spot in the garden or go swimming in one of the nearby lakes. The landlords are happy to provide information on how to get to the swimming spots, as the forest lakes are usually surrounded by reeds. The living area is bright and spacious, with everything you need. We thank you for your kindness and openness and will gladly come back.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Ruhig, weitläufig, menschenleer, verkehrsarm (eben Uckermark), also alles, was man von der Uckermark erwartet.

free time activities: Spazieren, laufen, baden. Nichts für Kinder (oder Erwachsene), die ständig beschäftigt/bespaßt werden wollen. Auto oder zumindest Fahrrad erweitern den Spielraum.

shopping facilities: Am besten in Templin, das geht nur mit Auto.

a true highlight for those seeking tranquility and nature lovers

The vacation apartment is very spacious and furnished with a lot of love and taste. Nothing is missing. The kitchen is more than adequately equipped. The living room with open kitchen and great view through the huge windows offers plenty of space and you feel very comfortable. Everything is very clean and cozy.

Retreat for nature lovers - listening to the calls of cranes and the roaring of deer in autumn

The spacious and tastefully furnished holiday apartment with west-facing terrace and panoramic views is perfect for city-weary, peace-seeking, and nature-loving individuals. The holiday home is particularly well-suited for families whose children enjoy nature and movement. Even younger children (from around 5 years old) can be sent on exploratory tours in the garden alone, as the large property is fenced. In case of bad weather (which we did not have), you can spend the day in the large bright living room with a kitchenette. However, you should be prepared from the beginning that there is no babysitter in the form of a TV. Instead, you can play badminton, fly kites, collect wood and other things in the forest. It is also optimal to be close to the thermal bath in Templin and the wildlife park in the Schorfheide. Particularly exciting now in autumn is the "Long Open Wolf Night." In comparison to the natural offerings, shopping options are somewhat limited. There are two supermarkets in the villages near Albrechtsthal or in Templin. Without a car, self-sufficiency could be a challenge. Overall, we can highly recommend the vacation rental. The landlords are super friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The vacation rental is extremely clean and nicely furnished. The price-performance ratio is definitely fair.
