The Halkidiki peninsula with its three headlands in the north of Greece offers you a varied stay. The countless bays and beaches invite you to swim and snorkel with their lonely and untouched sandy beaches and crystal clear water.
The next shopping possibility is in Vatopedi, about 1 km away (north). The spacious beach can be easily reached by bike or on foot in about 5-20 minutes (south). There are various possibilities for entertainment and catering by a taverna, a beach cafe and a pizzeria. There are beautiful sand and gravel bays, which are hardly visible.
About 4 km in the direction of Nea Moudania, on the sea side, is the village of Psakoudia, with its 4 km long sandy beach with beach bar and beach disco in the southern part of the beach.
Tavernas, bars, shops, car, scooter and bicycle rental, a travel agency and souvenir shop, a goldsmith to make your dreams in silver come true.
Worth mentioning are the big markets in Thessaloniki (80km south of Vadopedi, every day), Nea Moudania (the most beautiful market, 18 km away, every Wednesday), Poligyros (18 km away, every Saturday), Nikiti (18 km away, every Friday) and Ormilia, the neighbouring town of Vadopedi (6 km away, every Monday).
Ormylia is the next town to Vadopedi and Psakoudia where you can go shopping. Here you can find almost everything. A beautiful old rich village with historical background. Halkidiki is full of sights.
If you want to do some major shopping, we can recommend the Lidl in Nikiti.
You can still get the best fruit and vegetables from the farmers who sell their harvest every day at the roadside stalls on the left and right of the road coming from Psakoudia in the direction of Vadopedi/Nikiti. Very good and cheap.
Greece is also very impressive in winter. Here you have the opportunity to escape the harsh winter in Germany and get to know Greece from its other side. The air is clearer and the view allows an enormous view of the cliffs of the opposite peninsula Kassandra and of the mountain Olympus with its 3000m high snow summit, you don't experience this so clearly in summer. Winter is milder here, you may be able to experience the olive groves in the snow.
The property is located in an olive farming area, so you are sure to encounter farmers, tractors and pickup trucks. Just before the olive harvest, the olive trees are watered and fertilised, so please take this into account.

Idyllic holiday home surrounded by olive trees
We spent a week over Easter on Chalkidiki and wanted a central location.
The holiday home is newly renovated and equipped with top amenities! Nothing was missing.
Our host Katerina was always helpful with a smile, whether it was recommendations for places, restaurants, questions, or insights. We particularly enjoyed the peace and relaxation on our terrace. Great time!!

Unwinding in nature

Nice little cottage on the beautiful spacious property of the landlords. Katerina & her family are very helpful and give you lots of great advice. Beach, supermarket, restaurants & fruit stands in the immediate vicinity.

Relaxing days on the Halkidiki peninsula
We stayed for 10 days with 3 people in the holiday home Katerina. The cottage is quietly located in the middle of the olives with a large plot.
The facilities were clean and well equipped for cooking a few times and if we needed anything Katerina was there for us. Thanks again for the delicious olive oil :-)
The flat is easy to reach by car and the nearest shop in the village is not too far away.
There are several beaches within easy reach of Vatopedi. We liked best the beach Agios Ioannis about 10 km and Ormos Panagias about 15 km, so the drive was worth it!
