Our hunting lodge "Schnepfenloch" with its absolutely secluded location at the edge of the forest is approx. 1 km away from the guesthouse and offers you the possibility of a simple overnight stay in the middle of nature. The spacious area also allows you to pitch an additional tent.
The hunting lodge has neither electricity nor TV, but is equipped with modern propane lamps, a gas heater and gas hob. Sufficient crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are on site. Running water comes from a spring from the mountain, the use of which is limited in the winter months. The gas installation has been modernised and meets the currently required safety standards. On the ground floor there is a lounge with a large sitting area, couch and bar and in the attic there is sleeping accommodation for 4 people (one more person can sleep on the couch). For the overnight stay our guests have to bring a sleeping bag. The area is surrounded by trees without detracting from the wonderful view of the picturesque valley. A toilet block is also available.
You can barbecue on the terrace in front of the hut and light a campfire in a fire bowl. The firewood must be cut in the forest. You will find the right tools for this on site. There is also a high-quality seating area, wooden table and deck chair.
The hunting lodge is an ideal starting point for numerous activities. Explore the nature of the Thuringian Forest on signposted hiking trails or visit the culturally rich sites of German Classicism, Romanticism and Modernism.

Location and surroundings of object
Our hunting lodge is located in the mountains (completely alone) and is approx. 1.5 km from the village centre and the guesthouse. Visit us in one of the most charming recreational areas of the Thuringian Forest. The community of Schleusegrund is situated on the south-western slope of the Rennsteig in the green heart of the Thuringian Forest. The district of Schönbrunn, as the central village of the municipality, stretches over a length of 3.5 kilometres in the valleys of Schleuse and Neubrunn. Steep mountains rise around the villages, towering over the valleys by almost 400m.
Use our holiday homes as an ideal starting point to explore the unique cultural landscape of the Thuringian Forest or to spend an active holiday in one of the most beautiful connected hiking areas in Germany. By car you can reach the culturally rich sites of German Classicism, Romanticism and Modernism.
In the cold season, numerous winter sports opportunities await you. In the surrounding villages you will find lifts for alpine skiing and snowboarding and toboggan slopes for the whole family. A well-maintained network of groomed cross-country trails invites cross-country skiers to take long skiing tours through the snow-covered Thuringian Forest.

An absolute recommendation for nature lovers and those seeking peace.
This is a wonderful little house in the midst of nature, to find peace and forget everyday stress. It was especially cozy to sit by the fire in the evenings and go hiking directly from the house.
