Description
It is a spacious house (160 m²) in Mediterranean style, which offers space for six people. A roomy and well-equipped living kitchen (36 m²) with cooking island and its own terrace invites guests to cook and eat together. A large bedroom has its own terrace and direct access to the beautiful pool. The pool is freeform, approximately 7 m wide and 11 m long, surrounded by lush plants and features a relaxation area with loungers. In the upper area of the house there are two bedrooms, one of which has a roof terrace with a wonderful view of the pool, the garden surrounded by olive trees, the small village of Piccovaggia, the surrounding green mountains, and the sea. On both floors of the house, there are a bathroom and a toilet available. One of the most popular places for our guests to spend time in Casa Muvrella is the shaded patio with its own stone grill, large dining table, armchairs, and loungers. Here you can enjoy mild summer nights with cool drinks. The property is divided into two parts: on the left side is the house of my father-in-law Wolfgang Esser, who lives there. On the right side is the guest house.

The house is quietly situated overlooking the small village of Piccovaggia on a hilly peninsula between the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio and the long beach of Palombaggia, which, with its striking red rocks, lagoons, and pine trees, is considered one of the most beautiful in Corsica and is only 2 km away (the nearest public parking lot with direct beach access can be reached by car in 5 minutes). The historic port city of Porto-Vecchio, with its cafés, bars, numerous shopping opportunities and sights, can be reached in about 20 minutes by car (11km). From here, other popular beaches such as St. Cyprien and Pinarellu can also be explored. If you want to leave the car behind, you can reach Carataggio Bay in 30 minutes via a picturesque hiking trail through the maquis, with breathtaking views of the gulf, the Mediterranean, and the Bavella massif. Due to its idyllic location far from tourist traffic (accessible only on foot or by boat) and its crystal-clear water, it is nicknamed "Tahiti Plage" by locals. Other popular excursion destinations are very easily accessible by car. The historic old town of Bonifacio, with its spectacular location on a cliff 70 meters above the sea and the view of the Sardinian coast, is just under 40 minutes away. Nearby destinations in the mountains such as L'Ospédale, the Piscia di Gallu waterfall, and Zonza offer alternatives to the beach on hot days.

Beautiful vacation, great spacious house near beautiful beaches.
We enjoyed our two weeks as a group of four in the house despite the mixed weather in March. The house could be well heated, also thanks to the fireplace, and we used the well-equipped large kitchen and cooked and baked a lot. The house is only a few minutes' drive from a beautiful beach where you can walk for miles. You can also hike to a great bay in under an hour on foot. On nice days, we took trips to the mountains. Our host Matti was always available. We are already planning our next trip!

Super beautiful, spacious house in the best location
I was able to rent Matti's house very last minute and easily. We enjoyed the peace and felt very comfortable. Although the weather was also quite typical for January, we were able to make ourselves very cozy in the beautiful, spacious house with the two fireplaces. In 5 minutes by car, you can reach one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in Corsica, and we really enjoyed the winter, deserted beach. In the evenings, we cooked in the large kitchen-living room by the open fireplace and relaxed. The communication with Matti was very nice, and he was able to give us great local tips for restaurants, shopping options, and hikes. When we had a car breakdown, he made us a last-minute appointment at the car workshop. We definitely want to come next time with more time, maybe in spring or summer, and enjoy the pool.

Great country house
We spent a wonderful 7 days in this beautiful house in August. It was exactly as we had imagined. The pool is super nice for relaxing, spacious rooms, and a well-equipped kitchen… 1 bedroom has air conditioning - the other two do not. But at night, you can sleep excellently with the window open as the location is very quiet. We (2 adults and 2 kids) and my in-laws loved it. Matti was a great host with great communication beforehand - really wonderful ?

Very unpleasant landlord and roommate, house in need of renovation.
Our children asked us to write this review – because they returned disappointed from this vacation. The entire situation on site was extremely stressful, and future tenants should be informed about what the situation is really like on site.
• The landlord's father-in-law lived permanently on the property but does not want any communication, yet is still frequently on site uninvited.
• The property and house were entered multiple times without presence, among other things. Craftsman, father-in-law
• No briefing, no information folder – we had to figure everything out ourselves
• Balcony/terrace unsecured, notice only came after arrival via WhatsApp
• No trash bins at the house, no information on disposal. - Shower on the upper floor clogged for long periods, later water damage with breakthrough to the ceiling
- Blame assigned to us, although damage was documented – cleaning done by us without thanks
- Toilet flush on the upper floor did not work for days
- Only 1 bedroom with air conditioning, which could not be regulated – other rooms extremely hot
- Communication increasingly condescending, no more respectful interaction
- Constant monitoring – even nighttime ventilation was criticized
- Equipment did not match the advertisement: no four-poster bed, no sunshade, no sea view
- Rooftop terrace without fall protection, no barrier to the slope. - Absolutely not recommended for dog owners!!
- The behavior of our dog was criticized, although as a veterinarian I can assess behavior very well – the dog only reacted to unannounced contact by strangers with the children.
- I was reproached for having left my twelve and 15-year-old daughter alone with the dog. Typical example of surveillance. - No privacy – we didn't feel like tenants, but like uninvited guests.
- Our Opel van could not be parked on the property without daily scratches on the roof. We had to remove the roof box.

Hallo Frau Neumeier,
dass sich Ihr Aufenthalt in unserem Haus so unangenehm gestaltet hat, bedauern wir sehr. Auch für uns war Ihr Aufenthalt eine sehr unschöne und so noch nicht dagewesene Erfahrung. Einige der aufgeführten Punkte möchte ich gerne einordnen bzw. richtigstellen.
* Mein Schwiegervater hat das Haus in den 1990er Jahren gebaut und sich bis zum letzten Jahr selbst um die Vermietung gekümmert. Er ist daher sehr erfahren im Umgang mit Gästen. Er ist nun im Ruhestand und wir kümmern uns um die Vermietung.
* Das Grundstück ist zweigeteilt: Durch eine Hecke und eine Rückwand getrennt, befindet sich auf der einen Seite das Haus meines Schwiegervaters und auf der anderen Seite das Gästehaus mit eigenem Garten. Nur der Parkplatz wird gemeinsam genutzt, was bisher nie ein Problem war. Wie angekündigt standen sowohl das Haus als auch der Pool und der Garten ausschließlich Ihnen zur Verfügung.
* Es entspricht nicht der Wahrheit, dass mein Schwiegervater Handwerker ohne Vorankündigung kommen ließ. Sie wurden natürlich darüber informiert, an welchem Tag der Handwerker kommen würde, um sich um das Badezimmer zu kümmern.
* Mein Schwiegervater ist hilfsbereit und kommuniziert gerne mit den Kunden. Dies war diesmal aufgrund Ihrer Haltung ihm gegenüber und eines Hundes, der ihn stets laut angebellt hat, nicht der Fall.
* Alle wichtigen Informationen zum Haus wurden Ihnen im Voraus zugesandt. Ich habe alle Fragen sehr schnell beantwortet und Ihnen zahlreiche Empfehlungen zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants zukommen lassen.
* Sie wurden vor Ihrer Ankunft darüber informiert, dass die obere Terrasse nicht gesichert ist und die Tür geschlossen bleiben muss, wenn Sie mit Kindern anreisen.
* Wie in ländlichen Gebieten üblich, erfolgt die Müllabfuhr nicht von Haus zu Haus. Die Bewohner bringen ihre Mülltonnen selbst zu den Sammelstellen in der Nähe. Diese Information wurde auch in der Nachricht mit allen wichtigen Informationen, einschließlich der Standorte dieser Sammelstellen, mitgeteilt.
* Sie haben sich über die Hitze beschwert, obwohl die Fenster bei den hohen Temperaturen tagsüber weit geöffnet waren. Nächtliche Lüftung ist natürlich erwünscht.
* Das Meer ist von der oberen Terrasse und vom Schlafzimmer aus gut zu sehen. Da es etwas weiter entfernt ist, haben wir dieses Merkmal in der Anzeige nicht angekreuzt. Wir haben bereits die Fotos aus der letzten Saison entfernt, auf denen vor einer Renovierung noch ein Sonnensegel und ein Himmelbett zu sehen waren. Vielen Dank für den Hinweis.
* Was die Kommunikation angeht, möchte ich betonen, dass wir uns sehr bemüht haben, auf Ihre Bedürfnisse einzugehen und einen freundlichen Austausch zu gewährleisten. Leider beruhte dies nicht auf Gegenseitigkeit.
Auch erwähnen Sie nicht die verschiedenen Punkte, bei denen wir Ihnen weit entgegengekommen sind und uns sehr tolerant gezeigt haben.
* Entgegen dem Mietvertrag wurde keine Kaution in Höhe von 800 € gezahlt. Da ich davon ausgegangen bin, dass es keine Probleme geben würde, habe ich aus Kulanz auf die Zahlung verzichtet.
* Die zweite Rate der Miete wurde nicht wie vereinbart drei Wochen vor Ankunft auf unser Konto überwiesen, sondern vier Tage vor der Ankunft über PayPal, wodurch mir Gebühren abgezogen wurden. Auch hier habe ich im Sinne eines freundlichen Umgangs kein Thema daraus gemacht.
* In Ihrer ersten Anfrage hieß es, dass Sie mit einer „ruhigen Ridgeback-Hündin “ anreisen. Diese bellte jedoch jedes Mal laut, wenn mein Schwiegervater sich dem Haus näherte, um die aufgetretenen Probleme zu lösen. Das wurde besonders problematisch, als Sie wie des Öfteren Ihre beiden kleineren Töchter mit dem Hund allein ließen, und diese damit „überfordert“ waren, den Hund unter Kontrolle zu bekommen, als sich um das Bad gekümmert werden sollte
* Hygiene: Bei der Endreinigung stellte sich heraus, dass der Hund offensichtlich im Bett gewesen war. Trotz Ihrer vorherigen Aussage, dass der Hund nicht viel haaren würde, fanden wir extrem viele Hundehaare. Außerdem war der Boden sehr schmutzig. Die Vereinbarung, dass die gemietete Unterkunft in besenreinem Zustand zu übergeben sei, wurde in keiner Weise eingehalten.
* Da wir wussten, dass Sie eine lange Reise hinter sich hatten, konnten Sie das Haus zweieinhalb Stunden vor der vereinbarten Check-in-Zeit beziehen. Wir haben Ihre Anfrage nach zusätzlichen Handtüchern, Schüsseln, Gläsern und Duschmatten umgehend beantwortet. Unsere Reinigungskraft hat sich während des Feiertags um alles gekümmert, ist vorbeigekommen und hat alles für Sie bereitgestellt.
* Wie Sie wissen haben wir Ihnen bereits vor Veröffentlichung Ihrer Bewertung eine substantielle Entschädigung in Höhe von 50% der Miete für alle Tage, an denen das obere der beiden Bäder nur eingeschränkt nutzbar war, gezahlt. Die Probleme sind mittlerweile behoben.
