Description
Our cottage/farmhouse dates from the 17th century and possibly earlier. All rooms are imaginatively built on different levels, some with cross vaults, beamed ceilings and sloping soffits on the top floor. There are views of the mountains and neighbouring houses from every room . Except for the kitchen, the floors are scrubbed wood planks,just like it used to be! The house is built biologically, lime plaster and lime paint, wood, natural stone walls and brick walls.
Starting point for swimming, hiking, mountain biking and much more WITHOUT CAR!!!
Bicycles can be stored in the cellar (access at ground level)

Location and surroundings of object
There are only a few mountain villages in Trentino that have been so imaginatively built and completed over the centuries as CANALE, with its 25 or so houses, whose foundations date back to the Longobard period. Romantic alleys lead under arches and across small squares, overcoming imperceptible differences in altitude of 10-15 metres. As they are difficult for cars to pass, almost all cars stop at the fountain outside the village. Children can roam unhindered throughout the village and in all corners! There is always something for them to see:
Either a quick look in the small museum with the agricultural tools of our ancestors - a visit to the artists' house, where Italian artists can live and work with their families during the holidays (the resulting paintings are permanently exhibited in the rooms ) - At the fountain you can still sometimes watch the Italian women washing clothes in the old fashioned way with a view of Riva , Lake Garda and the magnificent mountain scenery!
The nearest shop, where there is almost everything , is 5 minutes walk away!

additional information:
As architects, many years ago we have rebuilt the house so carefully that the atmosphere and the character remained. The bathrooms are modern, but the rooms still have the old cross vaults. The kitchen has a gas stove in addition to the old oven range and open fireplace! In any case, it is the heart of the house where everyone sits together comfortably. In summer, the covered roof terrace is a dream with views of the mountains and starry skies.

We are a family of architects, and have remodeled this old house over the years, leaving it in as original a condition as possible. So there are modernized bathrooms, but the atmosphere of the original house has not been lost. There is also a gas stove in the old kitchen!
