Great holiday resort by the fish-rich Jarfjord. The cottage has a spacious terrace and magnificent views of the beautiful fjord landscape. Good sea fishing, boat can be rented. In winter, the Northern Lights are a great experience. The cabin, which is located on an open and sunny plot, 50 m from the fjord, was built in 1979 and renovated in 2020. New kitchen 2025. It now appears as a pleasant holiday cabin with a good standard and modern bathroom with underfloor heating. 2 bedrooms in the cottage. One with a double bed (140cm) and a single bed (from 2026) and one with a family bunk bed, with a wide lower bunk (120 cm) and a single upper bunk. In the winter-insulated annex there is also a family bunk bed, with a wide lower bunk (120 cm) and a single upper bunk. In the living room there is a wood burning stove with glass door that provides comfortable heat on cold days. Flat screen TV with large screen / Satellite with many TV channels. Free broadband / internet with large capacity. In the yard by the cottage is a winter-insulated annex with a double bed and wood-fired sauna for 5 pers. in separate building with dressing room / relax with sofa and chairs. In the area there is great hiking terrain for the whole family and several fish-rich lakes. Good hunting terrain with a lot of big birds in Pasvikdalen. The fjord is rich in fish and large occurrences of king crab. A 24 foot open boat with steering console, 140 hp outboard engine, sonar, gps, chart plotter, pole holders and life jackets can be rented. The boat is located at the floating pier. Filleting bench in boathouse with running water and light, freezer by the cabin. BOAT IS AVAILABLE 20.5-1.10 Great starting point for day trips by car to the mining town of Kirkenes, the old fishing village Bugøynes and King Oscar II's chapel at Grense Jakobselv. 8 km to the Russian border. Large parking space by the cottage. When renting a cabin, the owner prefers if the guests also rent a boat.

Sten the landlord is very eager to ensure that you have a good time in his house. Tips for fishing are plentiful, and anyone dreaming of catching a halibut should be able to realize that dream here. We were at Sten's for the third time and caught a halibut each year. / The house is not a luxury accommodation, but that is not to be expected at this price. With four people, there is enough space, and one can enjoy the tranquility in a location by the fjord on a road without through traffic. Those seeking peace, relaxation, and intact nature should feel comfortable here. / The "blessings" of mass tourism are, however, not to be found here. Recommendations: This year we took a trip to the Gorsa bridge at the Lyngenfjord. There, a bungee jump from the bridge into the 160-meter deep canyon is offered. For adrenaline junkies, an absolute recommendation. However, Norway is limited, the driving time can only be done in two days. / Other tips and recommendations for excursions can be found in my first review. / A new discovery this year was the Bugøynes Bistro in Bugøynes. The food is really worth the journey of 110 km.

Even though this visit makes one thoughtful and sad, it is still an impressive experience. / A dream is also the drive along the Norwegian scenic route Varanger to the endpoint Hamningberg. / A trip through a wild and magnificent landscape to Grense Jakobselv is also a must. With luck, the King Oskar Chapel is also open. Grilling on the dream beach of Grense Jakobselv and swimming in the Barents Sea at a water temperature of 10 degrees is something one will never forget in a lifetime. / You can eat well at the Thon Hotel Kirkenes. However, one should keep in mind the Norwegian prices. For a three-course menu with drinks, it can easily amount to 600¬ for four people. / For a snack in between, I recommend the burgers and hot dogs from the Circle K gas station.
