Experience the special atmosphere of a 300-year-old half-timbered house with modern living comfort. Enjoy the most beautiful time of the year in the Zittau Mountains. The house offers space for four to five people. There are 2 romantic bedrooms on the upper floor. On the ground floor there is a beautiful bathroom with shower suitable for the elderly, a modern kitchen, dining room. Unique vacation experience
We love spending our vacation in unique, unusual holiday homes. With the Martlhaus, we have discovered a gem that is not only beautifully, lovingly, and tastefully furnished and very clean. It is located in a picturesque place with nice people, near good bakeries (!), amidst beautiful surroundings, and is provided by an extremely friendly and helpful landlord! The local manager was also very warm and had good tips ready. We were greeted with fresh flowers in the house and a glass of homemade jam. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the lighting concept creates atmosphere, and especially my husband enjoyed the long, wide couch where he could really stretch out with his 1.90m, while the perfect armchair with footstool was ready for me. No downside, but good to know, the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep. It posed a challenge for my husband with knee problems, especially for our little dog (he tried going up and down once but then had to be carried to and from his sleeping basket).
We had ten relaxing vacation days in Waltersdorf, for us the Martlhaus is a clear recommendation!!!

The Martlhaus - Character & Charm.
Located in the center of Waltersdorf, a district of Großschönau, you can find house number 87 along the main road. The winding, narrow streets do not allow for speeding. So, you don't have to worry about noise. Directly in front of the house is a parking space for a car, ideal for loading and unloading. On the ground floor, there is a cozy living room, a modern bathroom, an extraordinary dining area, a modern kitchen, and access to a beautiful farmhouse garden. An inviting dining table offers space for outdoor dining together. And to enjoy the sun, peace, and beautiful greenery. Around the corner, you will find another "green room" and can soak up the evening sun on a comfortable wooden bench. All rooms have been lovingly restored. Little things from the past find their place in several white picture frames. They tell a piece of the history of this house. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. A special lighting concept has been developed for illumination. Throughout the house, you will find floor lights, table lamps, standing lamps, and wall lights. They accentuate old stone walls, wooden beams, and sandstone floors in a cozy way. Nothing is ordinary here. Finally, here's a tip for your evening walk: go out through the garden gate, up the street to the T-junction. Turn right and follow the road until the first opportunity to turn left into the forest. Here you will come across a circular trail through the hilly landscape. A narrow, mowed path offers the comfort of exploring nature while blending in closely with the landscape. On a hill under the trees, there are three benches to linger and let your soul dangle. Simply beautiful.

Simply fantastic.
We went hiking with our dog for 4 days in this tastefully restored half-timbered house with great attention to detail. The three of us felt comfortable right away, as if we had stepped back in time. A small garden with seating invited us to linger in the beautiful weather. Enzo, our dog, enjoyed playing there. We didn't miss anything, our expectations were exceeded. Many thanks to the nice landlord Andreas and Mrs. Baier. We were surprised with fresh flowers and homemade jam. We'll be back next year. Warm regards.

A holiday home with a special atmosphere
We have spent a few days in this very tasteful, with a lot of love in details and a perfect equipment with a high standard
with a perfect equipment. One feels very comfortable and depending on the season there is the possibility to use the garden

House with special flair in a great environment
The booking went smoothly and the landlord was very friendly. We arrived at a preheated house and were greeted with fresh flowers and a glass of honey. The house is designed with a lot of love and an eye for the special. Through the existing books, we learned a lot of new and interesting things about Umgebinde houses and could experience the atmosphere in such a house for ourselves. Despite the modern furnishings, we did not have to do without comfort. Even our dog enjoyed the evenings in front of the fireplace after exhausting hikes in the mountains. Thank you for the wonderful holiday!
