The Martlhaus - Character & Charm.

Located in the center of Waltersdorf, a district of Großschönau, you can find house number 87 along the main road. The winding, narrow streets do not allow for speeding. So, you don't have to worry about noise. Directly in front of the house is a parking space for a car, ideal for loading and unloading. On the ground floor, there is a cozy living room, a modern bathroom, an extraordinary dining area, a modern kitchen, and access to a beautiful farmhouse garden. An inviting dining table offers space for outdoor dining together. And to enjoy the sun, peace, and beautiful greenery. Around the corner, you will find another "green room" and can soak up the evening sun on a comfortable wooden bench. All rooms have been lovingly restored. Little things from the past find their place in several white picture frames. They tell a piece of the history of this house. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. A special lighting concept has been developed for illumination. Throughout the house, you will find floor lights, table lamps, standing lamps, and wall lights. They accentuate old stone walls, wooden beams, and sandstone floors in a cozy way. Nothing is ordinary here. Finally, here's a tip for your evening walk: go out through the garden gate, up the street to the T-junction. Turn right and follow the road until the first opportunity to turn left into the forest. Here you will come across a circular trail through the hilly landscape. A narrow, mowed path offers the comfort of exploring nature while blending in closely with the landscape. On a hill under the trees, there are three benches to linger and let your soul dangle. Simply beautiful.

Simply fantastic.

We went hiking with our dog for 4 days in this tastefully restored half-timbered house with great attention to detail. The three of us felt comfortable right away, as if we had stepped back in time. A small garden with seating invited us to linger in the beautiful weather. Enzo, our dog, enjoyed playing there. We didn't miss anything, our expectations were exceeded. Many thanks to the nice landlord Andreas and Mrs. Baier. We were surprised with fresh flowers and homemade jam. We'll be back next year. Warm regards.

A holiday home with a special atmosphere

We have spent a few days in this very tasteful, with a lot of love in details and a perfect equipment with a high standard
with a perfect equipment. One feels very comfortable and depending on the season there is the possibility to use the garden

and for colder seasons the stove offers a cosy atmosphere.
If you have questions or problems, there are uncomplicated contact persons in the neighbourhood.

House with special flair in a great environment

The booking went smoothly and the landlord was very friendly. We arrived at a preheated house and were greeted with fresh flowers and a glass of honey. The house is designed with a lot of love and an eye for the special. Through the existing books, we learned a lot of new and interesting things about Umgebinde houses and could experience the atmosphere in such a house for ourselves. Despite the modern furnishings, we did not have to do without comfort. Even our dog enjoyed the evenings in front of the fireplace after exhausting hikes in the mountains. Thank you for the wonderful holiday!

Tolles Haus

Es ist wirklich ein sehr schönes und modern eingerichtetes Umgebindehaus. Bei schlechtem Wetter kann man den Kamin anheizen und einfach nur relaxen. Sehr nette Gastgeber. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Perfekter Märchenurlaub

Wir hatten im Martlhaus ein perfektes Urlaubszuhause. Das Haus ist sehr schön restauriert und gemütlich, die Ausstattung prima, wir wurden bereits mit frischen Blumen und selbstgemachter Marmelade begrüßt - uns fehlte es an nichts. Die Umgebung ist wirklich wunderschön, wir haben märchenhafte Wanderungen durch stille Wälder, verzauberte Felslandschaften und mythische Burgen gemacht. Der Vermieter wie auch die Verwalterin sind sehr nett und unkompliziert.
Es war ein toller Urlaub, wir können es nur weiterempfehlen!

Museum meets modernity

The Martlhaus is stunningly renovated and furnished. It completely met our taste and we had a fantastic week there with our dog. For the price, you get everything you need. The WLan is great, the towels, kitchen towels and bed linen are a good service and the cleaning is also included. Thank you! The small garden is not completely fenced in, but after hours of hiking the dog could sleep in the hallway without any problems. The nearby surroundings offer a lot of forest for hiking, trips to Bautzen, Görlitz, Zittau, Oybin, etc. Within walking distance there is a small shop, the great coffee roastery and many good restaurants. We can only recommend this accommodation.

Traumhaus

Vielen Dank an den Vermieter den wir persönlich Kennenlernen durften bei der Schlüsselübergabe das Haus ist mit so viel Liebe und GUTEM Geschmack renoviert und eingereichtet worden das wir uns super wohlfühlen durften. Es ist ganz lieb das er auch beim Umbau an den Hund gedacht hat,die Steinböden und die Kühe zum ausruhen ausgesucht hat. Gerne kommen wir wieder. Der Ausblick ist super und Besichtigen kann man in der Nähe sehr vieles. DANKE

Stilvoll mit Liebe restauriert!

Wunderschön. Wir haben schöne Stunden und Tage in dem Häuschen verlebt. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und restauriert. Die Wärme vom Kamin war einfach herrlich.
In der Küche fehlte mir nur ein Geschirrspüler, aber sie lud uns dennoch immer zum Kochen ein :-)nach den Ausflügen zum Beispiel nach Zittau (Fastentuch); nach Löbau (Schminke-Villa) und Görlitz. Gern kommen wir wieder !

Sehr gerne wieder!

Ein bis in den letzten Winkel stilvolles Haus mit einem ausgeklügelten Lichtkonzept! Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder, ganz bestimmt wenn es den Kamin gibt. Gute Kommunikation mit den Besitzern und der Betreuung vor Ort. Nicht empfehlenswert für Familien mit sehr kleinen Kindern (steile Treppe).

Einfach nur schön

Ich habe dort ein langes Wochenende mit meiner Freundin verbracht und muss sagen: es war einfach nur traumhaft! Die Einrichtung ist total liebevoll und gleichzeit modern gewählt. Die Fotos waren ja schon vielversprechend aber als wir reinkamen haben wir uns sofort zuhause gefühlt. Auf der Gartenbank in der Abendsonne fühlt man sich wie in einem englischen Cottage. Wir sind jeden Tag gewandert, die Lage ist wirklich ideal um die Umgebung jeden Tag aufs Neue zu erkunden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Es war einfach schön!!

Nur ein paar Tage raus aus dem Alltag, dafür bin ich gut 600 km gefahren und werde es jeder Zeit wieder tun! Das Haus ist urig und gemütlich. Die Besitzer haben Stil und so habe ich mich rundherum wohlgefühlt.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Wer Natur mag und sucht ist hier absolut gut aufgehoben. Wälder, Wiesen, Felder..ob mit Fahrrad oder zu Fuß..es bietet sich etwas für jedermann. Ich bin auf jeden Fall begeistert. Wer nicht kochen möchte, kann gut und gerne in Waltersdorf essen gehen. Ein Restaurant habe ich selber besucht und kann es empfehlen.

free time activities: Ich habe in nur 2,5 Tagen Bautzen, Görlitz, Oybin und Zittau gesehn. Es gibt unglaublich viel zu besichtigen. Gerne wäre ich gewandert, doch dafür reichte die Zeit nicht. Ein großes Naturschwimmbad liegt gleich in der Nähe (das habe ich nur von außen betrachtet!) Es soll sehr schön und eines der größten Naturbäder überhaupt sein.

shopping facilities: Ich war selber gut ausgestattet, brauchte keine Läden. Es gibt in unmittelbarer Nähe einen großen Einkaufsmarkt und eine Apotheke.
